im crying... my dad came home one day with a gamecube and the first game I ever played on a console was this masterpiece. The soundtrack hits everytime
I also remember the Gamecube days. Those days were fun... 😏 (GameCube was the last and/or final Nintendo Console to not only have completely normal controllers by default, but also lack internet applications, and I was personally born in the year 2000, so I did grow up with a GameCube. None of this is to say that I dislike post-GameCube consoles, though)
I still remember Christmas morning 2003 playing this on my brand new Gamecube in the corner of the kitchen on the little LCD screen my mom got for us to keep us busy on road trips.
I remember getting my gamecube at 4 years old, it came with this very game and I could never get tired of it. Im definitely buying another gamecube soon.
ThePatrick_1038 I think this was last Mario kart game to have good memorable menu theme. The new ones aren’t bad but I just love the style of double dash and 64s menu theme
@@superstarweegee correction: Mario Kart: Super Circuit was the first Mario Kart game to introduce retro courses and it came out before MK: Double Dash.
I remember how memorable LAN Mode was in MKDD! Before we had online wi-fi connection, you were able to connect multiple GameCube consoles at once, making 8+ human players possible for Local Play. Ah, the good ol' days! (Granted, I technically never played MKDD's LAN Mode, but I know how it works because i've seen it in multiple TH-cam videos. This was like a combination between TV's splitscreen multiplayer AND handheld's multipak/multicard (if not multidisc) connection! (I could only imagine Mario Kart Wii being for GameCube, requiring at least 6 GCs to connect 24 players, or at least 3 controllers/players per screen to acquire 8 GameCubes connected. If a NSwitch port of MKDD allowed 8 GameCube controllers to be connected at once, 8 people focusing on 4 screens would also work with the DoubleDash-effect (having 12 pairs of racers with 2 characters per vehicle, for a total of 24 individual characters. Nowadays, the WiiU, Nintendo-Switch and NSwitch-Lite changed the consistency on how Nintendo platforms decide between being on TV or just handhelds, which also changed the consistency on how multiplayer in Mario Kart's racing video games work(s). *sigh* sorry for my comment being this long! Yeah, without further ado, I hope nobody minds my opinion on 8+player local gaming (even if nobody happens to care 'bout what I said).
I know I’ve only played it for about a year now, but this gives me nostalgia for some reason, maybe it’s because of the theme of the tune? (Pffffft “theme” “tune”)
Bro i miss double dash i have it on my samsung galaxy s10 but still i miss it on my original gamecube playing this when i was a kid with my whole family was awsome
