The near-legendary supergroup came by to play ‘Quantum Path’, taken from their stunning eponymously titled album, and their own unique take on the classic Miles Davis track ‘Black Satin’. With definitive Washington D.C. post-hardcore band Fugazi currently on hiatus, drummer Brendan Canty and bassist Joe Lally recruited jazz guitarist Anthony Pirog, famed for his limitless experimentation, to form The Messthetics in 2017. The innovative troika are gaining a reputation for their energetic sets of tight and technical rhythm captured on their essential self-titled record released on Dischord Records last year.

Gotta love the detail of playing BLACK instruments with SATIN-esque gold pickguards/crashes. These guys are deep into their stuff. And they compliment each other musically so incredibly well... This was incredible.
