In this video, Matt shares 45 blind and visually impaired TH-cam channels in his self promotion project. Over the last few weeks, Matt has been collecting 30 second videos from other blind and visually impaired communities here on TH-cam and on Facebook and is featuring them in this video. Be sure to watch this video in its entirety to see all of the different visually impaired communities on the internet and all of the great personalities representing them. This is a very helpful and informative video featuring the top blind, visually impaired, legally blind, and low vision communities of 2019. Hey my friend, I’m glad you enjoyed this video. Thank you for watching it. Yes there are definitely some other channels that did not participate in this project. I reached out to some people who I never heard from quite wanted to feature, but in some cases I never heard back. This opportunity was available for anyone who wanted to participate, but again we also need to remember that I was advertising this on my channel, so people who do not follow my channel did not see this offer. Like I said, I did reach out to some channels that I didn’t hear from to ask if they would like to participate, but I never heard back. I will be doing this project again in a few months after my channel grows more and I meet more people. I think it will be fun to do a video like this every few months to continue highlighting all of the great communities and personalities out there in the blind and visually impaired arena. This was a fantastic video Matt! Including other TH-cam channels that focus on blindness and visualal impairment. Great community of people and support. Also about my volunteer position at the hospital. They are getting my health and immunization records into my file and I was told to prepare for orientation on April 29. They said they were going to try to get me large print materials for the orientation.

It would really really help the Visually Impaired community. You know since almost all of us walk around in the dark. That reminds me Matt his electric bill is not very high every month like a cited persons would be.

With the help from my Caira yesterday I launched my first TH-cam video even though both of us didn't really know what we were doing. . As I was searching on TH-cam to see if there was any other blind people doing the same I found your channel and obviously the answer is there is a lot of talented vision impaired people making videos etc. if nothing else I've realised I forgot to put #Blind On my video even though I mention it in my description. 🤦🏻♀️ As part of the video were sideways and upside down, apparently, I will probably take it down and try again but it was fun and I'm proud to join this community. I completely agree with you, most people just worry about their own channel and worry about the competition. Just like I said my video the other day, I don’t give anyone his competition because TH-cam is a community for all of us to connect, not a business where we need it to generate revenue from all of the people that we come in contact with. After all, it is best of all of us stick together and raise awareness as a whole versus individually. We will be much more powerful and influential if we influence as a synergistic group versus a bunch of individuals trying to do it one by one. Hi, good morning! Yes, I think you are in luck. Many of the people featured here in this video have already written comments and there will be many more comments to come. We have done a project like this many months ago where we feature just a few people when the channel is a lot smaller, we left links in the description on that video and it seems like it created more confusion than anything. In this video we decided we were not going to include the links simply because of all the confusion it caused in the last video. That is why we asked everybody to introduce who they are, tell us where we can find them on TH-cam or on Facebook, and then tell us the purpose of their channel. I think just about everybody in this video did a very good job of clearly explaining exactly where to find them on TH-cam or Facebook. There were only a couple exceptions where it was difficult to hear or understand what they said. I hope that makes sense. We wanted to make this accessible for everyone and knowing that all of us are visually impaired or blind, the majority of us work well through what we here versus trying to navigate through a bunch of links trying to find the right one. It would’ve been a mess in the description box if I had 45 links to different channels down there. I just know from experience when doing a project like this several months back that having all those links in the description just creates confusion and makes a big mess. Again, I hope you understand the reasoning behind why we decided to do it this way by having everybody verbalized versus putting all the links in the description. Wow this was an impressive video, definitely quite a few that i will have to check out as my vision gets worse, the good news however is my eye doctor is sure he will be able to slow it down, but the bad news, he was concerned that my vision was worse then it was 4 weeks ago, so in a little over a month he will be re testing my peripheral vision again.

Just in the last two months since I lost my good eye that was nearly perfect vision, I have experienced so much b******* from sighted people. This needs to stop. We have blind people that are literally homeless out in our streets. What the hell is wrong with this world? And a little more locally, what the hell is wrong with America? This is Despicable. I will do my best to help change at least this country if not the world regarding blindness visually impaired people and how they are treated how they are seen by the world that can see.. unfortunately as someone who was sighted in one eye for the last 27 years of my life I didn't fully realize just how badly blind and visually impaired people are treated. Now that I have seen it literally for the first time in my life I am just blown away by how badly us and others in our community are treated. I have so many stories that would blow your mind away. What an awesome group of you tubers! I found this while researching the best way for my dad to be able to make phone calls, ask about weather, and so on. He doesn’t currently have a cell phone, so I’m trying to figure out if he could use Alexa echo with a device like a kindle or a computer, which they already have. These channels will help me and my dad very much. If anyone has advice on which device to use for phone calls and weather information that doesn’t have a high monthly subscription, I’d love to hear suggestions.

My name is Brendan. I created my channel Twilight Walker a few weeks ago. I`m visually impaired due to glaucoma, which I got very early in my life. This means that I have about 10% sight remaining in my left eye. The right one does basically nothing. My channel is used as a creative outlet. It is still in an early stage, because I`m doing my internship, which is part of my study program. Once I graduate, I hope I can do some more. The channel is just ment as a hobby. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there is a sizable community of blind and visually impaired on youtube. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know.

I just had to say thank you for your channel and your efforts and it is said to be sight impaired like myself and since I am on SSI and can hardly even afford rent and such , I have wanted a Catholic rosary and not one of the plastic ones that the local church here gives out because the beads are done so badly I can hardly follow it along and pray it by myself and I cannot even find a Catholic Ministry that would provide me or even offer to donate to me a rosary and that is sad tumet. I'm sorry for any grammatical errors because I have to use talk to text with my sight impairment and talk to text really sucks. Thank you for listening and God bless you and yours

This was a really fun project to put together as for the links all the channels, Corey and I decided we are not going to do that. That is why we asked everyone to introduce who they are, and tell us exactly where everyone can find them in their community. Hopefully everyone can just hear what the person said and where to find their community and search that way. We understand that this would be helpful, but at the same time we also need to prioritize our time with these projects. This project took several hours to put together and collecting all the links would’ve taken several more. That is why we asked everyone to share in their promotional video exactly where to find them. Thank you for shouting out TH-camrs that are vision impaired VIP'S have a cool acronym so I created one as well, NSA. Non-Sighted Advocate. Conspiracy theorists will love that lol. . I am totally blind and have had a TH-cam channel since 2014 but didn't start publishing until just a few years ago. I am wondering how do you pick videos or channels for this type of listing? I have never had any blind or visually impaired person contact me about other blind or visually impaired TH-cam channels. Do you have to be in some kind of blind group already? How do blind people find other blind TH-camrs? How does a sighted person search for a TH-camr that is blind? My point is that it seems that unless a blind person is already in a community of a particular group then they are not even thought of. The content on my channel covers everything but from a blind man's perspective and that's what I hope to present to the world is just how we the blind people can also produce great content with high quality visual content as well,

As for sighted people and or blind people finding other blind and visually impaired TH-cam channels, it seems like people find us pretty easily. I am in some Facebook groups and occasionally publish my videos there if I find and think that they will be helpful and valuable to others, otherwise it seems that a lot of people are just searching on TH-cam for answers to common questions having to do with blindness or visual impairments. We meet quite a few new people each week through the channel who have just come across some of our videos. If the videos are tagged and titled well, if someone is looking for something specific in that video, a well worded title with the proper tags will leave that person to the video. Hopefully this is helpful, but it seems like a lot of us find each other just by searching different common questions or situations related to blindness or visual impairment. Hi, I wish I had some definitive tips to give you regarding this question. I have had so many people reach out to me asking very similar questions and this is a very common theme here in the blind and visually impaired community. What can we do for work, what do we want to do as a career, what our our our skills and what do they allow for, etc. my question back to you would be, what are you good at? What are you very educated about? What are your passions? What are your hobbies? What do you spend the majority of your time doing? If you answer all of those questions, you may see some consistency is in your answers which may lead to some type of opportunity. Whatever you are good at, where you have a lot of education, you’re passionate about, or something that you spend a lot of time currently doing, there may be some opportunity there. I’m not sure what that is for you, but it may be something to explore whether you are working for somebody else, or going into business on your own.
