I'm waiting to be released from rehab due to surgery for a herniated disk pressing on my spine so I understand Sherpa.
I fell and smacked my head on the fridge and had a beauty of a lump and black eyes for the longest. They can't change the damage but can stop it from getting worse.
My Grey hound/black lab was getting into a seated position but couldn't get his rear legs up and whimpered in pain.
The choice to put him down was made unfortunately vet, etc couldn't do it that day. Best they could do is sometime that week.
I rescued him from the city shelter and I felt terrible just leaving him there til they could get around to him. Didn't want him abandoned again.
Thankfully we found a place. I said goodbye while my companion arranged things. I was crying like a baby.
Duke looked at me with his big brown eyes and liked my face as if he were trying to comfort me by telling me he understood and it was ok.

I just watched Jodie's montage of the last 10 years of Sherpa and Key's life together and I bawled my eyes out. Those two boys were meant to be together forever. I love it when they have a get together.

She had some struggles but I didn’t think this was truly on the horizon or this quick….went to the ER & was told she wasn’t an emergency & she died a few hrs later. I knew something was up & said we have a different idea of what an emergency is. 🤦🏻♀️

I receive notifications from the podcaster through email but I don’t get notifications 4 all the comments. I’m so glad I saw yours bc I received Jamie’s notifications. I’m so sorry to hear about your sweet babies health declining. I lost one of my cats a few yrs ago & then the second one a little over a year ago. It’s hard when they’re all aging at the same time. Idk what’s worse knowing they’re dying or not. Take care dear. 🙏🏼🥰

He's old... lost mine a month ago, he was roughly the same age as Sherpa. It's hard watching them age so fast. Be prepared for sad news on this channel in the near future.

Afterwards there is a snack and off we go to visit our best friend.

Poor sherpa seems to be starting to struggle with his legs and age 😢please god its just a bad patch he is going threw ,there youth goes so fast ,for them and us watching them,im sure jamie like myself with older dogs it upsets you at times ,after all the adventures ye have gone on ,iv seen a decline in sherpa sinces his tooth problem ,hopefully he will rally round again,hes so big its alot of weight on his poor old legs ,iv a saint bernard 7 yrs and i see her struggling on her legs and ageing its hard to see ,but your so good with sherpa ❤

Sherp seems to be giving a few Fluff offs these days. Tell Sherpa for me, if you please, that TT loves him so and he taught me how to speak Dog-gish and I appreciate that-although it doesn't work with smaller dogs, apparently they have their own language. I got to "visit" the UK with him and it is always a blast. I am sorry I never sent treats and toys, but my heart was in the right place and he seemed as though he never went without. I SO admire that you bought him a home with a yard. That is a tried and true friend to choose the home for your dog/best friend. I love many dogs and animals of all types, but Sherpa is in my heart . Love to you all. Cheers
Truthfully, i noticed that Sherpa started having trouble about 3-4 months ago when he started looking kind of drawn. I've had animals all my life and when he didn't look better after a bit, I knew what was up. Any doggo folks know what I mean....but you hold on as best you can, take them to the vet and do WHATEVER you can for them. Then you let them go, which is the absolute worst (for us, not them). This is the promise we make to them. The grief we all feel now is the measure of love we have for them.
Love to see Sherpa and Key get together for a visit. Have a good time Sherpa, we love you and Key.
