Dracula was straight up evil personified in this film. The way Dracula fought to remove that stake was like watching (and listening to) a feral animal get out of a bear trap….that right there, was mastery in acting.
This was Must-See TV on CBS Late Night weekends 1970's...And you never forgot these Hammer Film Classics and replayed them over and over in your mind at night!🌜🎭🕸️🕷️Then came TNT's much-loved "MonsterVision" early 1990's to ressurect the Hammer and B-Movie Horrors as well as Toho's Godzilla crowd-pleasers! Now DVD restores them to their colorful beauty for us to enjoy long after the cobwebs have been swept away.........
I always find it a little amusing how easy it is in vampire movies to drive a stake into someone's heart. You'd think this guy was cutting a slightly frozen ice cream cake with a knife, not ramming a pointed piece of wood through layers of muscle and bone.
I'm not sure if this was established in the Hammer films but in the mythos, vampires are especially vulnerable to stakes; so much so that their skin is like butter to wood.
I fully concur. Lee defined the role. He was the tall dark and handsome man and he struck an imposing figure. The short fellows who came after him could not get any close to that. Subsequently they were not half as scary.
This is I think the crown jewel of the whole hammer Dracula series and the best one I think and one of the things was I think was that with the concept of staking a vampire that you have to pray to properly destroy him and to stake him successfully And it’s unfortunately a thing that other horror vampire films and modern films now miss out on and undermined They simply don’t make them as good as this anymore.
Am I the only one who couldn't stop laughing at how Paul was scampering up the roof before Dracula got him in a chokehold? 😂 He seemed to totally forget that he couldn't stop him just like that.
Love this scene this is one of my favorite Dracula films Christopher lee was creepy with his red eyes and teeth he's the second best Dracula I would be terrified to come across him
Just once I'd like to see a vampire movie where the hero (or heroine; have you EVER seen any woman not named Buffy stake a vampire?) drives In a stake, the vampire awakens and screams, DOESN'T die, the hero restakes him, the same thing happens, and the hero screams "WHERE THE HELL IS THE HEART?" (My doctor once commented that most people don't know where the heart actually is, even though they think they do).
Christopher Lee the best Dracula ever! if only Tim Burton or Peter Jackson ! could do a Dracula by paying tribute to the Hammer film !As they did for Planet of the Apes 2001 (T.Burton) or King Kong 2005 (P.Jackson) it would be Truly amazing
The late 60s was a f***ed up time for the G rating if this movie is has the same thing given to Toy Story, Wall-E, Paw Patrol The Movie, Luck, 101 Dalmatians, Bambi etc
Actually he does have a little dialogue in this one. Okay, not a whole lot of it, but a lot more than he did during the first sequel "Dracula, Prince of Darkness". Still, this was a worthy entry to the Hammer Dracula franchise.
@@jameskellett2699 I agree. To this day I'm glad that my dad got me hooked on him in Horror of Dracula, eventually I checked out some of his other films and appearances on television. He was more versatile than some would think.

I know I can’t be the only one that thinks Christopher Lee does a fantastic job of looking like he’s in pain
Can I just say, excellent acting from the three of them
Lee was the best dracula ever period
Yes!
Second best. Bela First
@@alexanderangelo7284 Nah.
Bela & Langella are the BEST!
For me Gary Oldman was the best

I don't think I've seen this one, but this scene makes me want to watch it.
This is my all time favorite Dracula movie.
Rated G Everyone!!!!!
I REMEMBER WATCHING ALL THESE VAMPIRE MOVIES WHEN I WAS A KID SCARY STUFF BACK THEN BUT LEE WAS THE BEST VAMPIRE 👹👍✌

@@tinkles7232 Which mythos? I’ve never heard that. Honestly seems a bit lazy from a storytelling angle; shouldn’t it be harder?
first dracula movie i watched when i was a kid in 80s. Still scares me till today
The point is that
Lee was the greatest dracula
I fully concur. Lee defined the role. He was the tall dark and handsome man and he struck an imposing figure. The short fellows who came after him could not get any close to that. Subsequently they were not half as scary.
I like bella legosie but he dident have Lee's aristocratic presence.
They were both great. Respect.
Yes he was... the best ever

Rest in peace Christopher Lee.
93 years old though. Damn.
The best in macabre!
damn this is one hardcore G rated movie
That’s right this is not good for G it should’ve been R!
That was back when everyone wasn’t wimps and had low testosterone
@@timothy.natureexplorer9399 at least PG would make sense, given it gives some warning but G?
I love this movie.

2nd best who do you have for 1st? regardless as far as pure acting talent Lee was miles ahead of anyone else who played Dracula
@@orgonkothewildlyuntamed6301 Who is the first? Bela Lugosi???
I'd be honored to meet him! What a spiritual gentleman.
Reminder that this movie is rated G by the MPAA
I heard in UK it's rated 15 and Australia it's rated M
That was some Olympic sprinting. The guy would thrashed Usain Bolt.
this scared the crap out of me when i was a kid!!! plus i learned to like busty women who work at taverns!! LOL
Question how did they get Christopher Lee's eyes to get so red like at first scene where he came out of the ice
And films now miss out on those details.
Fantastic movie ! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇🦇🦇

I laugh now but this film caused me many a sleepless night!
So in how many movies did Dracula get staked, turn to ashes, and STILL come back alive? :-)
guy who plunged the stake also found the claw in Blood of Satan's Claw
Yes. Barry Andrews.
¡¡¡Que escena más fuerte, cuando le clavan la estaca y Dracula consigue arrancarsela. Muy grande Christopher Lee,elegante y majestuoso,el mejor!!!
Dracula was a Pimp.
The staker looks like Frank Spencer!
Rated 'G'
that last line I thought bro was about to whip out his lightsaber. If you know you know
Who was that Dracula I met from 2018 September
Dracula's hair was on fire how on Earth did he put it out???? His Cape was also in flames he kept it on and it stopped burning!!!! No way!!!!!
Yeah, that was crazy. I wonder if Lee got injured. Otherwise, those were some crazy special effects.

Count Dracula eternal father hear our prayer

1:20 poor Christopher, even his hair catches fire...no wonder he can't like his Dracula films :D
Christopher's stuntman was named Eddie Powell.
It's interesting that every author gets to rewrite the Vampire rules. Based on that you'd almost conclude they're not real.
The late 60s was a f***ed up time for the G rating if this movie is has the same thing given to Toy Story, Wall-E, Paw Patrol The Movie, Luck, 101 Dalmatians, Bambi etc
Dracula wasn't a good stake thrower 😂
Dracula does not speak in the film, save for a few hisses

Blood in a g rated movie?
Yeah definitely should’ve been R!
We need a bigger stake
Try a medium rare one
Why was this movie rated G? 🤔
They got confused.
It will be an answer to the question of the last and maybe only horror film to have an official g rating.
The new MPAA had no idea what they were doing. This was the worst example, but the sex comedy The Impossible Years shouldn't have got a G either.
Dracula
GOSTARIA DE ASSISTIR O FILME COMPLETO DRACULA O PERFIL DO DIABO COM : CHRISTOPHE LEE...
What the hell is that fool trying to do burn down the place?
Think of christopher lee like the real superman christopher lee wos the best real dracula
Darcula lì vampiro
