I think their voices and expressiveness were at their peak in this era. There are so many fabulous live performance from 1973-1975. Thank goodness for the recordings and TH-cam for allowing us to see them still.
@@themelodicmariner3323 Yes, he seemed to go from superemotional with lots of facial expressions, arm gestures and funny dances in the 70s to standing stock still gripping the microphone stand later on. I've often wondered why there was such a change and it seemed a shame.
@@lclark6854 I read somewhere that during the Fever period they asked him to not do as much onstage (stupid dummies) but in the 80s he seemed to start showing feeling with arm movements and stuff again.
This is my favorite version of this song. Beautifully sung and the emotional expression is glorious! I just wish I could understand the ad-lib at the very end! And of course Robin looks glorious too!
@@themelodicmariner3323 Thank you. It's my favourite Bee Gees song too. Robin has my all time favourite male voice. I've loved them since I was 13 and I'm 68 now x
I just discovered your channel and I was very happy to see all the Bee Gees song reactions on it and even more so that they're all to lesser known Bee Gee songs! I'm a music and Bee Gees lover as well! This is one of my top favorite Bee Gees songs, especially the 1974 Melbourne concert version of it! My very most favorite Bee Gees song for quite awhile has been “Don't Fall in Love with Me”, then, for a little bit, it was “855-7019”, a song that was released as the B side to “How to Fall in Love Pt. 1” from the album, “Size Isn't Everything” but not released on any albums, but, right now, I'm especially into the song “E.S.P.“; I have had a few other very most favorite songs before “Don't Fall in Love with Me”, but that doesn't really matter and there are several other Bee Gees songs that are, also, my top favorites, but I don't really think I need to say them. And, just so you know, I first started listening to the Bee Gees in, I think, 2019 and just got really into them in, I think, either July or August of 2021 and I'm only 22 years old.
Yay welcome!! One of my favorite songs is Don’t Fall in Love with Me as well (I actually did a reaction to it ❤️). I love that you love them so much - I’m only a decade older than you but grew up listening to their greatest hits so it’s been fun journey for me as well to discover and share their “lesser known” songs. I love the Melbourne version of this song as well 🥰 Robin just draws you in with his singing and feeling doesn’t he? I’m so glad you found my channel - thanks for taking the time to comment : )
@@themelodicmariner3323 Awesome! I saw that you did! I can't wait to get to it, as I'm going through all of your videos in order!😃 He sure does!❤😍 I'm glad I found it too! You're welcome!😊
Oh man,. That's awesome. 👍👍. Thank you. Man in the middle. &. Omega man. 💕💕💕. Mo is so dam sexy. & I watch Bee gees every day. I'm so happy I found your reaction channel. 🥰
Just catching up, Kate. And, yes, I'm in total agreement with you. This is his best performance ever of this song. The only reason I never suggested it for a reaction is because of those pesky credits at the end. So, I've always suggested the 1974 Melbourne concert performance instead. It is one of my top three Robin leads for sure. Just love everything about this wonderful man and, believe me, he has gotten me through some really tough days since hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Of course this performance is great, but my favorite from this song is 'Melbourne 74' with Robin's iconic and long-lasting distraction, and still he never missed a beat or fell out of tune, that's what only a genius can achieve.
Its great for showing the absolute professionalism and poise he possessed to be able to continue singing and not miss a note with chaos erupting only a few feet away, but it sacrifices the emotional impact when Robin looks like he's trying so hard not to bust out laughing. Can't blame the man. I doubt I would have been able to stand there and sing like nothing was happening! The fact the he was tackled on stage by an ardent female fan at that festival in New Zealand during his solo time in 1969 had to have been giving him flashbacks!
But apparently that was not about a fan D. I recently read from a person who was present on that concert, that one of their songs had just reached the charts and it was flashed up on the stage screen, that's why there's a great cheer from the audience followed by multiple camera flashes that were shot at the same time, besides Robin's smile for what he just saw matches that statement much better than the others I have read, he looks delighted and happy. I made my own research, and two of the songs from the album they were promoting in that concert hit a spot on the charts on 1974, and could've been on the same month of the concert: Charade reached the Top Ten in Chile at position 7, and Mr Natural reached # 11 right there in Australia, where that concert was held, and the album itself reached # 20 also in Australia in the Album Charts. I think any of those hits could've been shown at the time of his 'distraction', anyway his performance was pristine as always, he wasn't even out of tune for a single second. Here you can take a look to the information I found www.beegees-world.com/onehits.html BTW after that experience in New Zealand on 69, he was terrified, and remember how sensitive he always was, so I don't think he would have been so happy and relaxed for something similar once again. I really believe in the whole story of the charts.
@@juanita6479 That would be a much better reason. I would hate to think that after the New Zealand incident security was that lax anywhere they performed ever again. I figured the joy on his face was from not getting tackled that night!
@@Zeathree Nop, if you notice, he is very thrilled but also trying to decipher something, and makes sense, he is trying to read while singing in tune and without losing a single note. Others also said that it was Maurice with his jokes, but Robin and Barry were very used to his mischeviousness, so I stand on this last discovery, I always said, Rob cannot look that happy for any of the other reasons, now I'm convinced.
Peak perfection. Omg Robin! His face is precious!
Maravilhosa Música! Linda voz de Robin Gibb!!🤩🤩👋👋👋🇧🇷❤❤
Robin’s voice was singular. Both powerful and vulnerable at the same time. Absolute perfection.
Great song and fantastic performance. Thanks for the great reaction.
