Yep, Goodwill is my 2nd home. I got an Eagle Creek bag. A good sized electronics bag, for a dollar or 2. Even a book style gun case with handles. Great like brand new tents and cots even for a tiny fraction of their original prices.

Organization is so key! I fought wild fire for a few years and I was hands and feet above everybody on all my crews in organization of my deployment bag/line bag. I remember the first time my crew boss saw me unpack it his jaw was on the floor! Multiple smaller gear bags are the key, and they need to be different from each other too! On top of that it helps if they are easily transported individually by themselves. For example I had one large sub kit that was also a small back pack by itself, a hip pack and two belt packs. My sleeping gear and warm weather clothes could just be rolled up and thrown over my shoulder. It, didn't just help me but others on my crew being that organized.
After watching your EDC and Organizational videos it really makes me take note, inventory and better prepare myself. I invested in a pocket organizer and updating the Emergency Bag in my car. Really appreciate everything you do! Keep it up.
I don’t use these specific pouches because of weight, but the idea is the same. I purchased parachute fabric from eBay 8-10 years ago & made small pouches with it (as I did my backpack). I was very much into ultra-lightweight backpacking at the time & not yet a prepper. I have since added pouches to accommodate the prepper items & simply remove those when doing a backpacking trip.

The best and easiest and longest burning is the cotton ball and Vaseline, which I roll up in some dryer lint. It keeps burning long enough to get the sticks and other stuff burning.

Just on the drivers seat there's a rip-away first aid pouch, fire extinguisher, a 6x6 and a 6x10 pouch with assorted gear all on the back of the seat. There's also a 2 magazine pouch on the door side. Plus other stuff. This is only the drivers seat. The other seat have molle pouchs and could hold a heck of a lot of gear. Sootch, I've been watching both of your channels, from nearly the beginning. I've taken your advice generaly most of the time, but tailored them to my own needs. As to the Bic lighter, try wrapping a rubner band or other suitable item for that purpose, aroung the to to keep the gas from escaping. Also, I've adapted another solution for the Sharpie pen, by substituting the stainless Sharpie that you can refill. Yet another usefull video!
Good content as usual. I have replaced some of my pouches with watertight cases with an IPX6 rating. Keeping first aid, fire kit, batteries, ammo and other items that I want to protect from potential water damage and breakage. Thanks for the info and the motivation.

20 + years ago before I retired as an inspector I met an electrician that taught me to carry band-aids in my wallet. He said he would be in the attic wiring a house and get an ouch and have to climb down to his truck to get a band-aid!!!!
These pouches are good for vehicle, travel or EDC bags, but not good for any pack one plans on carrying on their back for distance. I see so many people filling their “bug out” packs with these. They add unnecessary weight, not to mention cordura is a heavy nylon made for abrasion resistance. There’s no reason to carry a 500D or 1000D pouch inside of a backpack. You don’t need heavy, abrasion-resistant fabric for something that will never see abrasion. But as I mentioned before, they are fine for travel/EDC/vehicle bags.
That's the advantage of molle gear. I keep my first aid on the side of my pack in something like this, and I specifically want a sturdy fabric to prevent it from getting ripped off.
I've noticed that while I was in SC that a lot of people wear thoose little EDC pouches, but if I where to wear that up here in pa I would stick out like a sore thumb
Defiantly budget wise. They look great but probably expensive nothing I can afford ou also need a bigger bag for other essentials like kits that we need if we are evacuated or some kind of disaster. Right?? Hope people agree with me. Although I like the bloopers at end of his video

Great Video! I'm currently looking to upgrade the system I have for my home and pickup. I'm also trying to upgrade a lighter weight survival system for our day long trail rides with the horses. Look's like made in C crap, outside of the bags, and the gear one critical item missing is a accident form, and a small 1st aid wilderness and travel medicine book, it's great to have the essentials all in a small form, yet when you do bugger your self up, and might not be that clear of thought do to the injury etc. having a quick and easy reference to use is critical. As always the video was informative and well done.
maxpedition pouches are mil spec quality. They are designed to be attached to a ruck n dragged through s**t and mud, rocks , thrown off heli etc. U get what u pay for....but, I'd send u some of my girlfriend's old makeup cases lol. I use to use them all the time as bag organizers before i invested in a good bag system
I bought a couple of these small pouches a couple of years ago and I stopped using them. For one how do you carry them? I just organize the stuff I need in a backpack. They are also inefficient in what they carry. There is always something I want to have with me that doesn't fit in one.

The pouches themselves take up too much space and all that elastic never lasts very long. Ziplock Sliders... you can see everything in them and replace them for pennies. Pouches are useful for pack exterior and belt carry...

I'm a big fan of the mini - organizer pouches. Also Exotac products. I was surprised to see a Uco box of matches in there instead of a match-cap. Do you run those in other systems?
How many pouches and bags and carries do you have or recommend. Fire kit, first aid kit, edc, vehicle kit, get home bag, and a bug out bag. You could conceivably have 10 flashlights, 25 easy different means for fire, 10 shelters/tarps/bivies, five miles of cord, God only knows how many knives, saws, multi-tools.

i use school pencil pouches with a clear window they cost 1 dollar each and are great different colors for different things

I use quart bags. All can be used as water containers, so I put a straw in each. I label them, but it’s easy to see what’s inside, keeping dry.

I work outdoor maintenance on a tractor. Sometimes a mile from the truck. Small 1st aid kit always in side pocket.
