The elephant in the room is that they are planning to re-use the Long Beach Marine Stadium for the rowing events. However, in order to do this the racing distance has been reduced to 1500 metres. Not ideal for the sport.
@@josh0108 yes I imagine that could be closer to the actual cost(still think that’s an over approximation (as event venue costs like sofi, etc are subsidized for the Olympics), including the cost of shutting down major roadways for buses and the like. Still pretty affordable I’d say. The revenue generated will more than make up for it.
They're not really saving money though, because they spent ridiculous sums of money already on these venues. SoFi Stadium cost $5bn to build, by far the most expensive stadium ever built.
True, but these stadiums were not built specifically for the games, and compared to other host cities, they built brand new venues, which can cost billions and often become underused after the Games. LA’s approach is to repurpose its existing infrastructure, which should lower the overall cost of hosting the event, even if the original construction of some of these venues was expensive.
DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE VIDEO? THOSE STADIUMS WEREN'T BUILT FOR THE OLYMPICS! THEY ARE REPURPOSING EXISTING STADIUMS FOR THE OLYMPICS! ITS THE SMARTEST THING TO DO!
The Oakland coliseum is in OAKLAND, NOT LOS ANGELES. THE GAMES ARE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, NOT THE BAY AREA. LOS ANGELES HAS IT'S OWN BASEBALL STADIUMS.
They're revamping old Stadiums, but new things are being built AROUND the Stadiums! Like the George Lucas museum! 🛸 Lots of new transit!!
Very exciting stuff is happening in LA for the next several years. Thanks
They are preparing alright!!! The elite is burning this now to re build LA 2028
The LA Coliseum also was home to the UCLA Bruins for approximately 50 years. It also hosted two Super Bowls.
Better research please!!!!!
Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games!

Los Angeles is still spending $40 billion on these games. That's with existing sites.
40 billion is for city infrastructure projects, that’s not an Olympics only thing
The Olympics themselves are alleged to cost over $6 billion.

FIRST !!!
Going to Oklahoma for softball? Sounds kind of unnecessary.

Could have use that money to fix the streets or house the homeless !! Screw the Olympics I’m from La and don’t care !!! Waste of $$$
All the new transit and public spaces along with tourism revenue will help local residents! Last time it brought in 200 million more than it cost .
Wait what if they use the Oakland colosseum for baseball
