Mr John Weaver is a class act and a gentleman. Him and I share the same ideas and values. This car will always be known as his pride and joy ...we just helped get him there to see it’s glory days. John and I have many more great times to look forward to. By not firing the car ...we were preserving the color on the headers for a huge important show in Chicago the following month in which John and his wife attended. We needed it to be as fresh as possible to compete at the highest level. The friendship has gone beyond this car .

the human part of it is what's the most heartwarming and fascinating.

Fantastic, what a great Camaro. Love seeing a piece of history brought back to it's glory. I've owned a 1969 Camaro SS396 since 1985. Just waiting for time to restore to original. My car was a super stock car since July 1969 and has been raced on and off since. Still have the original odometer with 268 miles on it. This video has given me new inspiration to finally get around to finishing my car to it's previous glory. Thank you. And great work to all who where involved.👍 👏

What a great story, incredible car, and a wonderful man.
My best friend doesn't have a Yenko, but he has a '67 Camaro, RS/SS convertible, w/350 cu, 4 wheel disc brakes, power top, power windows, cable driven bowtie side view mirror, hide away headlights, AM/FM, air conditioning, luggage rack on the trunk, blacked out rear panel, deluxe interior, actually he has two interiors, one has bucket seats in the front with a solid rear bench seat and he has the front split bench seat and fold down rear seat, it's red with the black bumble bee stripe around the nose with the double hump hood, automatic Turbo 400 transmission, he had it completely restored about 25 years ago and I don't think it has left his garage since he brought it home from the shop.

I grew up in West Newton, PA (30 min from Greensburg, PA). A guy in my town - Gary Shoemaker - had a dark green with white stripe and it was the only time I noticed as a young guy the word Yenko on the car...it was a loud and fast car. At night the car was one of the most stunning cars on the road in the early 70s.

We come to this world with nothing and leave with nothing. We don’t actually own a car, we are just the caretaker. This car will outlive the people who built it, and the guy who bought it new. He knew that. As a true steward of the car, he put his own “wants” aside for the good of those who follow behind him. Well done and kudos to all involved.

This was a Great documentary I remember these days. These days seem to be gone with the mass production of autos. This is what America was. We all worked on our cars to make them better and faster. We helped each other it was predominantly a man thing. Bonding with friends. You call me in the middle of the night tell me where you were broken down. I jumped up got dressed and rushed to help get you fixed and on the road or we told you home with chain. Came back next day and we fix what was wrong period and we didn't ask for a penny. We might not have been the brothers but we were FRIENDS!
    Thank You for this vid!

I grew up in SW PA and went to grade school with Don Yenko's daughter in the early 70's. She brought him in one day for Show and Tell, lol. He was in his race suit and showed an 8mm movie of one of his Trans Am races.
As a 6th grader, he was just a local racer that owned a Dealership. Honestly, the Yenko Novas were more popular (affordable) than the Camaros. Pretty common sight in the Pittsburgh area in the 70's.

There was a 69 427 Camaro in our hometown back in the 70s. The guy used to drive it around in the winter time also LOL. Through the years I used to think oh, God I should have offered that guy a pile of money for that back then because it probably just rotted out. But hey, good news :-) I went into the military came back 6 years later, and in the early 90s some years after I had been home, I went to a car show about 50 miles from my house. Low and behold, there was that guy with the same car, fully restored. We had quite a talk about it. He had parked it after some years while the body was still fairly decent and gradually started putting it to restoration. It looked fantastic it sounded great and shined like brand new. All-aluminum 427 Factory car. One of the very few made
