I just oiled my EB8800 one jewel movement without taking it all apart and look forward to fitting a flat crystal and reluming. Thanks, helped me save $200.
Educational and very informative watch learning video. I enjoyed the clarity and quality of your horologist videos explanation. Thank you and great video!
Excellent presentation Mark. My stop-watch Perspex glass is domed, however it fits *flush* to the top edge of the bezel. Is the only option to have the new glass the same diameter as the bezel and glued or, how much oversize and how to fit it please?
Thank you for stating "perspex". Being a newbie and unfamiliar with watchmaker jargon and terms, I purchased a crystal press thinking I needed it to install vintage pocket watch glass crystals. What a waste of money. Sigh... sure wish others would stop talking about watch crystals generically and not identifying wether what they are demonstrating applies to plastic or glass.
Very good! The Sternkreuz glas seems to have a much steeper angle on the side than the original glas,...is there not a Sternkreuz glas that fits better to the original?
Hi, great video. I recently had a new domed plastic glass put on a 9 crt gold watch but on a few occasions it has popped out and I am able to just clic it back in. It has come out so many times now that I’m afraid to wear it. After looking at your video can I assume that the glass is the wrong size, or is it different with a soft material like gold?
Any other way to replace the crystal without a crystal lift tool? I only have a "normal" crystal press and don't feel like buying a lift tool just to help a friend onvce to replace his vintage Acryl crystal.
I am currently editing a new video series on a manual breitling chronograph and have just shot another on the Val 7750 which is severely rusted. The vids are based on the watches I get to repair in my workshop. Thanks for watching :)
fantastic mark as always i purchased one of those tools off a bidding site one of the best investment i ever made ps burgeon tools are the best not Chinese rubbish best wishers ady

Could you do a video on how to chage the crystal on a 200m water resistant dive watch with a generic crystal?
Thanks
Dave

Great video - as ever!
Thanks Will :)
Thanks for the good tuition
Is the procedure for sapphire the same? Doesnt sapphire break when compressed?
For dome plastic glass usually we need to select one size up for the fitness? How about dome glass? Direct fit or need a size larger?
Could you use the same tool to fit a divers watch glass like a vostok amphibia?
Any other way to replace the crystal without a crystal lift tool? I only have a "normal" crystal press and don't feel like buying a lift tool just to help a friend onvce to replace his vintage Acryl crystal.
Will an inexpensive Esslinger tool work ok?
Are you guys going to do more videos of pocket watch repairs and so on?

How did you take off the glass???
Would an ordinary dome from the same company work on this watch?
Could someone tell me what is the different between "stepped Domed" and "Domed" Crystals and their applications? Thanks in advance!
Nice one... very helpful
How did you remove the old glass .? Should make a video
OscarT9011 , use the tool to compress the glass and pull it out.
Do tools like Bergeon 4266 work only perspex glass?
Yes
whats the name of watch can you provide a link to buy
thanks
it's a Junghans Max Bill Automatic. it costs around $1000 and unfortunately, the acrylic dome is prone to scratches.
you actually went up .2 in size and not .1??
He mentioned that the glass is sized in 20ths of a mm, so 2 sizes up = 0.1mm
@@marcaxe, No, they're sized in increments of a fifth of a mm, so one size up = 0.2 mm.
Thx!

I agree - lower cost alternatives can be a false economy.
I don't know if anyone here reads these comments, but do you need the tools? Can you pop in the crystal w/out the tools used in this video?
👏👏‼️®™️ ☑️☑️
max bill!
