You guys missed a HUGE detail, especially since you brought up how Jennas names chanced. In the books you said Hannahs name was Hannah Rivers, but in the show its Hannah Martin and her boyfriend Caleb is Caleb Rivers I know they get married at the end, but they aren't for most of the show/books.......Also, I don't know guys this video seemed really messed up. I don't easily get offended, but talking about the girls weights and saying some of them weren't skinny enough and then the part about Tamin Sursok literally not being pretty enough to play Jenna was so messed up. You said that in the books she was a disney princess type beauty who all the girls were jealous of and then you said that Tammin didn't really convey that.....thats literally saying she isn't pretty enough to play Jenna which is just absurd. To be fair, it’s a book. You can make up characters as your heart desires, give them whatever features you want. But when it comes to real life I don’t expect them to change them all with features that can take a while to go away (new hair color, new hair cut, etc).
Ashley's name on cast is Hanna Marin not Hanna Rivers. I know where you got it from, but originally her last name was Marin. Which was her last name most of the show. Just saying it would be better to have said Marin.

I think they did a great job casting the characters. Lucy is Aria, Troian is Spencer, Shay is Emily, Ashley is Hanna and Cody is Mike. I also couldn't pick a better Toby then Keegan Allen

Yeah I read the books long before I watched the show or even knew it existed. I also want to read the books again to compare them to the TV show which I recently watched through again as a refresher.

Yes, in the TV show Hannah and Caleb got married... On one of the last few episodes in 7 seasons. And in the books, Hanna and Mike got married... In the last of a 16 book series. It was at the very end. So technically, you could call her Hanna Rivers or Hanna Montgomery depending of if it's the TV show or books you're talking about... But since this is on both and the majority of the series generally before she got married, it just makes logical sense to call her Hanna Marin since that is her name for 99% of the time in both the TV show and the books.

Her name doesn’t change because she married Caleb, that’s up to her to decide. She could’ve kept her name, or she could’ve chosen to hyphenate (Marin-Rivers.) Since the show never stated what she did, I still refer to her as Marin.

This is scary inaccurate. Spencer Hastings had blonde hair with honey highlights in the books. Hanna's name is Hanna Marin. Not Hanna Rivers. Rivers is the last name of her long term boyfriend in the series, when in the books, Caleb doesn't exist since she ended up with Aria's brother Mike Montgomery. Yeah she married Caleb in the tv series, but that didn't happen until the very end, and didn't happen at all in the books. Hanna in the books had long *auburn* hair. Not brown. You're criticizing the network for not casting most of the characters all-white. But can you blame them for trying to be more inclusive and diverse? The books had like, 2 non-caucasians. You're basing a lot of your assumptions off the covers, but the covers were actually quite inaccurate and didn't well reflect the characters in the pages. And if Sara Shepherd was okay with the models not matching her characters perfectly on the covers, I'm guessing she was okay with the actresses not totally mirroring their respective book characters. Each actress did a superb job of reflecting the personalities of their characters, which is what's most important...

I love both! If I have to choose Book Hanna is better. Her story is way more heartbreaking and it moved me a little and made me feel bad for her through the whole eating disorder and the Kate and Isabel fiasco. They talk more about it which I like in books. Show Spencer is better. I have no idea why I like her more it’s just I don’t know I just love Troian and Spencer’s story in the show is better. Show Emily is better. I really like Emily more in the show because she gets more stronger in the show than the books which I love. Show Aria is better. Lucy is just so damn adorable! And lastly I like Book Ali she has more depth to the character

This video makes me angry. They picked the PERFECT people for this show. I'm not sure why they make these types of videos. I mean, they probably auditioned the types of people that were in the books... but as a casting director... it's hard to find that person 100% and you have to find what was the best fit. I found this video very stupid and discouraging. No human looks EXACTLY the same, has the same body shape, Eye color, nor nose shape. You basically body shamed all of the actors for being to perfect or not perfect enough. Take Jenna's character for example, You compared her to not being pretty enough to make the others jealous. If you are really thinking of giving it another chance, do it. It gets kind of complicated around season 3 or so, but it’s not a bad show. I’ve watched it all the way through twice (and thinking of watching it again a third time) and that’s crazy for me because I’m picky with the things that I watch.

Yes, in the TV show Hannah and Caleb got married... On one of the last few episodes in 7 seasons. And in the books, Hanna and Mike got married... In the last of a 16 book series. It was at the very end. So technically, you could call her Hanna Rivers or Hanna Montgomery depending of if it's the TV show or books you're talking about... But since this is on both and the majority of the series generally before she got married, it just makes logical sense to call her Hanna Marin since that is her name for 99% of the time in both the TV show and the books.

Her name doesn’t change because she married Caleb, that’s up to her to decide. She could’ve kept her name, or she could’ve chosen to hyphenate (Marin-Rivers.) Since the show never stated what she did, I still refer to her as Marin.

Hanna's name is Hanna Marin. Not Hanna Rivers. Rivers is the last name of her long term boyfriend in the series, when in the books, Caleb doesn't exist since she ended up with Aria's brother Mike Montgomery. Yeah she married Caleb in the tv series, but that didn't happen until the very end, and didn't happen at all in the books.

You're criticizing the network for not casting most of the characters all-white. But can you blame them for trying to be more inclusive and diverse? The books had like, 2 non-caucasians.
You're basing a lot of your assumptions off the covers, but the covers were actually quite inaccurate and didn't well reflect the characters in the pages. And if Sara Shepherd was okay with the models not matching her characters perfectly on the covers, I'm guessing she was okay with the actresses not totally mirroring their respective book characters. Each actress did a superb job of reflecting the personalities of their characters, which is what's most important...

Book Hanna is better. Her story is way more heartbreaking and it moved me a little and made me feel bad for her through the whole eating disorder and the Kate and Isabel fiasco. They talk more about it which I like in books.
Show Spencer is better. I have no idea why I like her more it’s just I don’t know I just love Troian and Spencer’s story in the show is better.
