I would try! I don't know your recipe and humidity, but wafer paper is very stable, more than sugar paste! I put my cakes in the fridge in a corrugated cardboard box and let them sit at room temperature for a few hours to avoid condensation. And I never have any fresh produce in my fridge, if I’m working on a cake. However, it is important to know your fridge and your room humidity because the difference causes condensation, not the fridge itself. It is better to use a hygrometer and check the humidity to protect wafer paper from melting.

Yes you can! Just steam it lightly and use piping gel to stick to a cake

If you want to use it as a paper wrap, I would attach with piping gel

These are candy melts and they melt ah higher temperature.

The chocolate doesn't melt if I used the steamer?! Also,, can I use glycerin with the chocolate instead of regular oil? to make it even more flexible?
Let me know if you try! I use cold steamer (nano mister) so it won't melt to chocolate.

This happened to me too before adding vegetable oil. Try using royal icings or different type of chocolate.
