- In this episode of Dark, Martha meets the Stranger and learns his true identity; Claudia tries to prevent Egon's death in 1987; Hannah travels to see Ulrich in 1954.
I do not own this song.
Egon was actually the only character who figured everything absolutely alone, without someone appearing in front of him to explain what the hell is going on.
Claudia did somewhat, saying things to him that he will hear that same evening.

Egon's death really hurt me. He was too good and kind. Unfortunately, being good in this world, without being attentive and bold, makes you an easy prey.

Hannah is Ulrich's great grandmother and his lover, as well being the wife of Ulrich's son, Mikkel, having Jonas, along with his sister, Silja who is Mikkel's great grandmother and also Jonas's great great grandmother, yeh this is some advance Alabama shit going on.

Charlotte had Elizabeth as a daughter in present day and Elizhabeth had charlotte as a daugther in 2040's or something not sure. Noah and Elizabeth are Charlotte's parents and Noah is Elizabeth grandfather. I think when Charlotte go to the future which is in 2053 she and her daughter get a baby "charlotte" and maybe give it to taunhus im not sure about that maybe
And silja is Claudia's sister too

Dark always playing the best soundtracks at nearly ten minutes before the end of the episode. Then afterwards they drop the bomb twist.
Hannah is the most toxic person on this show! The moment she traveled back to 1954 to see Ulrich, then later conversing with Egon, I knew it was going to be downhill for him from there!

@only destiel Yeah, I remember that part when Hannah purposely told Katharina that she herself wanted to leave Ulrich when he began telling her that he was in love with her and wanted to leave Katharina and their children (that was a tremendous lie!).
guys....i know a lot of people feel bad for Claudia/Egon in this scene, but imagine being Regina in this situation, coming home after school she's trying to find her mom but she's gone forever and then suddenly she got a call that someone found her granpa dead in his house, that must've been so hard....lost your only family in one night

Thankfully Aleksander was with her.
This also drove her dependence on Aleksander, even later in her life, because Aleksander was literally all she had left. A man she hadn't even known for a year at this point. And a man who, it turns out, never told her the truth about who he actually was.
And yet their relationship was quite possibly the healthiest one we see in the show.

He was not so slow. He was in the middle of something really weird and complicated, but he actually managed to understand something in the end. It was not so simple.

The story telling is non linear. The time is linear. That's the whole premise of the show

@@gonx9906 depends on how you understand linearity of time. If I'm not wrong Endgame had a non linear version of time. Changing the past doesn't alter the current timeline but creates a new one altogether. Hence non linear.
But in this show, past actions have an effect on the present timeline. Hence time is linear.

@@TsarOfRuss sry not sry I have watched both and GoT throughout the ENTIRE series invoked more suspense and emotional response than any other show ever. I connected with characters and truly felt invested. Despite S8 being underwhelming it was movie level quality every weekend. People forget about the journey and only note the destination and how it ended. No question if S8 had gone differently it would be the worlds best show all time.

The scene between Hannah and Egon is one of the greatest scenes ever because that scene is the start of an affair between the two. This affair caused so much havoc as y'all know. Their affair gave birth to Silja who continued to give birth to Agnes and Noah. Agnes gave birth to Tronte and Noah gave birth to Charlotte. The whole family tree caused due to time travel was only because of Hannah and Egon. If Hannah did not travel back to 1953 and become pregnant with Egon's baby, I don't think the family tree would even exist. So for me, this scene where Egon lights up Hannah's cigarette is the most favorite and so powerfull. With the song in the background, it's so classic and signifies a great twist in the story!!
Edited: What I'm really trying to say is this affair was really the most important relationship in the cycle because it almost started the entire family tree. It was meant to happen and it's very necessary. Because of this one affair, we have several confusing relationships such as how Jonas is also the brother of Claudia, how bartosz married his grandmother's sister(silja). I'm not saying that because of this affair, everythng started. I'm just saying that it's one of the 'ROOT' relationships of dark.
Also, in vintage era and movies, we can see that when a man lights up a woman's cigarette, it's symbolism which signifies that something is definitely going to happen between the man and the woman. It can be a start of an actual relationship or just sexual intimacy.

Good point and it’s one of my favorite scenes too, combined with the music, the images, and to see Claudia’s lifeless body etc, it actually gets me really emotional for some reason. However I don’t know if you can really point to one instance as the cause of everything because all of their story lines are cyclical and feed off of one another to the point where it becomes the chicken or the egg analogy. It really is like they said over and over again, “the beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning.”

You know who is connected to who and how it all happened but when you start to think about it, it's too complex for our thinking to go through the entire phenomena again and again. It's like just when you thought it was the ending, it wasn't the end. It's actually the entire beginning. It's too tiring😩
Honestly I was thinking about it trying to find when did it all start, and to me yes it seems like Hannah was one of the starters along side Adam and Eva
Think about it like this: the whole show is about cycles and the nonexistence of free will. There is no has been or will be. Adam and Eva’s worlds are cycles and everything just happens. Humans can’t decide what they want (in the show and in our “real” world). There was never a possibility that Hannah wouldn’t go back in time. It’s just what her life in this universe (Adams world) was meant to be. So nothing happens “because” of anything or anyone really. Things just are. I think that’s the bigger picture that the writers wanted to paint.
You know, the actress that plays Hannah is just amazing. ♥️
The most hated character engaging with perhaps the most loved one. Dark's writers just want to see the whole forest burn down.

Most people just don't hate Ulrich because his fate was worse. Lol so does Hannah's fate but people hate her. People love Ulrich for absolutely no reason
The sports guy People love Ulrich and hate Hannah because of how much he suffered just to try and save his son. At least he tried to be a responsible parent. Hannah abandoned Jonas and stole his time machine just so she could go to the 1950s to taunt Ulrich and elope with Egon. She never gave it back and didn’t give a damn about Jonas until it was too late. She’s a terrible mother.

What sets Dark apart from all other web series is the acting abilities of all the actors. They tell so much without talking.
Egon's death was absolutely devastating.

Egon’s death was one of the few scenes that made me cry. He deserved better.
Egon.. the one who didn't deserve that cruel world.. neither in 50s nor in 80s.
Hannah's perfidy and sentimental insecurity caused everything. She's the key of the infinite pain cycle.
