I-AM : I ASHISH MATHEW loving Hexa like never before .Truly an amazing feature which you would love during the hill descent .
Trust me am loving this feature , Only Available in XT Version of Tata Hexa .
how the Hill Descent Feature works on the TATA HEXA XT 4X2.
It is easy to enable the feature and you are making the vehicle to control (Engine braking) by itself while descending.
1) Press the Hill Descent switch on the Fascia
2) Vehicle in neutral, legs off the accelerator
3) Control the speed using cruise control switch
4) After crossing 40km/h speed the feature gets deactivated automatically or else you can deactivate by pressing the Hill Descent switch.
Disadvantage :
It does heat up the Disc brakes , because it continuously makes use of the brakes during HDC activation.But Dont worry it will not harm the brakes very soon .. SO CHILL.

I think cruise control controls only accelerator not the brakes.. i.e on downhills it don’t holds the brakes..
But HDC controls both i.e it applies brakes in downhill if it’s too steep also..
