Certainly by general European major city standards that's very cheap for £45 since that's easily enough for two people to be absolutely stuffed or 3 at a pinch.
Dan... whilst you're in Istanbul...you absolutely must try the mussels (Midye) available everywhere... and the bbq fresh fish sandwiches available along the waterfront. You're welcome mate!
The Balik Durums from beneath the Galata Bridge (Super Mario ‘Emin Usta’) or from Mehmet Usta in Karakoy are much, much better than the plain, dry, bony Ekmek sandwich’s sold at on the floating boats in Eminonu.

Always what I'm saying. 2022 was really cheap. 2024 more expensive than most of Europe. Restaurant prices are ridiculous this year. Don't come here for cheap holidays.
GBP sucks at the moment, you should see the exchange rate with USD its terrible. I assume this is why as I was shocked about the prices on these Turkish videos.
@@ProwagenPer4mance Turkish Lira artificially stays around 40 lira to 1gbp. It should have been 50 lira to 1 gbp. With the high inflation rate and low exchange rate prices are so fucking high as you can see. Even beer prices are around London levels in Turkey.
Inflation is through the roof unfortunately. It was reported it went up 68.8% annually for April. To compare it to UK, where everything seems to be getting more expensive, the inflation rate for March in UK was 3.4%.

Love your content lad, just to add it so t you are aware, in the turkish culture it's almost always right to pay after the meal, with or without a tip ofc. Which usually depends on the service and the overall experience. It is nice that you ask them but it would be better if you just ordered and went to the table becuase that is how it's supposed to be :)
tharts really expensive but meat is also very expensive in turkey (even more than in most european countrys). most people cant afford it regularly. if they use high quality meat and have the shop in a trendy district... every food their is prepared fresh and the cows live outside, unlike in europe where they are 10 cows caged on 1 sq meter. also brisket is not a common food in turkey and due beeing a speciality maybe they charge more.
No establishment ever serves water/drinks with the food. I've never been to a restaurant where they bring out my food and drink at the same time. Food comes from kitchen and drink comes from bathe bar.. It'd be wierd if a waiter brought a curry in one hand and a pint in the other hand. Drink either comes after food is served or if they are smart, it comes before the food so you can finish the drink before food arrives and order another drink. Restaurant actually make more profit on drinks than meals.
