Thanks for stopping by! Apologies for the delay in video uploads, launching a business has proven to be quite time consuming haha. We've gotten into the swing of things so regular video uploads will resume! Thanks for your patience always❤️ I'll be doing a livestream tomorrow over on my Sharla in Japan channel! Come hang! th-cam.com/video/g0BS5j4WuBE/w-d-xo.html
@B B Happy is the one who is content , he is pleased whether GOD gives him something or takes it away from him. Children are ornaments if you have them thanks ALLAH and if you don't still thanks HIM. Wealthiest is the one who is content and when calamities befall on him/she they are patient.
I'm Japanese but I've never been to Yamagata and harvested dadacha beans. It looks really fun!! My twitter follower told me your channel, and I'm learning English by watching your video. Thanks!!
Sharla is a hero. Scared of heights - still goes on a roller coaster. “That dark basement of the abandoned power plant is scary - let’s explore it!”. Needs to wake up at 4 a.m.? Sharla appears fresh and shining with a smile! Compare to Chris who filmed a whole scene about how hard it is for him to wake up for the fish market.
@@Moonphoria97 Chris Broad is a TH-camr from the channel Abroad in Japan. I definitely recommend checking his channel out. You'll find Sharla featured in some of his videos as well. His content, perspective, and character keep me coming back. Here's a video with him and Sharla having brunch at a Japanese Market: th-cam.com/video/It338b61dU8/w-d-xo.html
I love them both though lol. Sharla really immerses her videos into the cultural aspects of Japan while Chris makes everything entertaining. Both shoot amazing quality videos. I also always like their dynamic together in videos--take that as you will lol
Nori-san has a nice smile. For some reason he looks like an anime protagonist in a slice of life farm anime about a man who leaves his 9-5 corporate job to work at his family farm.
Farming is such hard, under-appreciated work! I can almost smell the cool air of the morning while watching this...makes me want to visit Japan even more than I already do. Arigato gozaimasu , Sharla. 🙂
Sharla is honestly such a pro in doing important and meaninful work, she's so respectful and just a joy to watch. all this and she also does a beautiful work filming and editing the videos. really, i just get so inspired by her joy and professionalism everytime she does one of this types of videos.
It's amazingly kind of you to film something like this. Not enough farmers get visibility. Aside from that you always do a fantastic job of showing the hard work and fun of things like farming, berry picking, etc. I'm so glad you did this. I think the world needs more videos like this.
Thank you soooo much for your travel videos! Since we are stuck at home homeschooling your videos help everyone to have a sneak peak into a different life.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the farmers. I've been to Japan 5 times, but I've never visited this area. Next time I won't miss it. Derek is such a cool guy. You should collaborate with him more often. His channel deserves more attention.
That was amazingly beautiful! The mountains, the fields, the sunrise are all stunning!🏞 I also wouldn't mind watching Nori-san cook for me, another lovely sight🤗
What a fantastic video! This is my favorite type of content that you do. Beautifully filmed and edited, with friendly and interesting people. I really enjoyed this.
Great video Sharla! The farmer was so friendly and informative and I’m surprised when he knew some English! Was awesome to see the process they go through at the plant too *drone footage was really nice in the morning wowee*
Sharla, we will always be patient. You out out great, fun, and educational videos! Seeing the rural and the city life is great. It reminds us that Japan is not just the tourist traps. You show us the HEART of Japan, the people! Thank you!
Easy to follow pace for the video. Felt like I was on the trip and understood the process from harvesting to packaging. Rural life: taihen dai yo ne...
This was a great video Sharla! Of course homestays are all a bit geared toward visitors but it's a whole different vibe from Tokyo that most would never even be aware of. Thanks for uploading!
Its produce as it should be. People know the value of fresh picked produce. Its sad that in Australia consumers think a punnet of strawberries that is only harvested 3 months in the year by hand should only cost $2. It shouldnt be cheap. I loved being in Japan and seeing the respect they provide their home gròwn produce.
I love spending time with locals and learning new things. I was lucky enough to visit Totsukawa and stay at a really lovely ryokan where the host taught us how to make Konjac and a different type of sushi where a whole leaf is used. After we took the konjac and sushi to a locals chicken farm where he helped us pick shitake and cook them to go with our meal. It was an amazing experience.
That video was incredible! The editing was perfect, the drone shots were exciting, commentary was insightful. I learned so much about edamame! I always look at the length of time and first thought it was too short, but it was just right for my attention span. Thanks, Sharla!
Amazing video. So interesting and I absolutely loved the shots of the rice fields and mountains! Made me want to travel so badly. Wish I could live by the mountains. Please keep these types of videos coming!
This is one of the best Japan blogs I have seen in a very long time. I had never thought about doing this but it is now on my "must do" list. Rabid thumbs up
What an amazing video! I've started watching a bunch of your videos since you appeared in a few of the Abroad videos. It's nice to see these smaller towns highlighted that may not get much exposure in mainstream media. I'll be adding this town to my list of places to visit. Cheers!
Thank you, Sharla for always showing so many different ways to experience Japan and get to know the culture better. I would love to try a farm stay in Japan one day! You really are an inspiration 🥰

This was so interesting! Thank you for sharing this with us! I love videos that not only show life in the countryside, but also explain just what is going on in the fields and beyond. :)

I would love to do in a home stay in the countryside! I can imagine it’ll be an amazing experience! 🥰 I can’t wait for the future! For now...I’ll just continue my daily London life 😋...
❤️ your videos. I have been to Japan many times. Spent most of my time in the city of Hamamatsu. I have however traveled to most all of Japan’s historic sites and cities. Your vlogs are absolutely amazing and make me miss my travels to Japan.
Awesome. Very educational and it looks like it was well worth the early hour of waking up. I can’t imagine doing such intense manual labor as they do but to add on the fact they didn’t have a harvester vehicle until 20 years ago REALLY makes you appreciate and not take for granted what we have as far as modern harvesting at farms.
What a wonderful video! Thank you for sharing your experiences. I really miss Japan right now, and this helped as I sometimes travel to Yamagata-ken to do research when I am staying in Sendai.
I really enjoyed learning about the whole edamame growing process, I think you should explore more like this in the area you live - it was fascinating plus the hosts were great too

Lol, fogging camera looks like a cool affect for ending.
true :D
like BOB ROSS said....not a mistake just a little happy accident

Sorry lol
It looks like she added a cloud filter to emphasize the heavenly experience
The fogging lens occurring while Hiro-san left made it seem like he was an angel or something leaving from a dream 😂
"I haven't seen the sunrise in years"
That is sooooo relatable
Lol where I'm from the sun goes up at 8 am (in the winter) so...yeah could see it every day if I wanted to 😅😂
