      Totally agree. I've been recommending a Insanity and Wrath combo for 10 years now.
      If you're wanting more flexibility in the neutron plastic, the Highlighter Yellow tend to be more flexible.

    I have a theory about rollers that explains why the insanity is an insane roller disc. Understable rolling discs turn over quicker because there is much more weight on the top of the disc relative to the parting line, pulling the disc over quicker. The insanity has a balanced weight above and below the "parting line" rolling edge which means it stay vertical rolling for a crazy long time. I had one completely run out of speed then stop and flop over. Balanced weight above and below the parting line rolling edge means rolling for days

      @MegaLaban12345 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In my experience even max weight fissions are way flippier than any other plastic for the insanity. I would rank the stability of the plastics (from beef to flippy): eclipse, cosmic neutron, neutron, plasma, proton, fission.
      All just my personal experience! Runs will ofcourse vary. I have tried two different neutrons, plasmas and fissions.

      Thank you for the info! I’ve only tried the one proton so I might have gotten an oddball, but did pick up another one recently so I’ll see how it compares!

    I’ve got a bit of a faster arm then I used to, but the insanity has remained in the bag as a fantastic roller disc. It also comes out every so often if I need something that flips and goes far even without a run-up.
    Just found a sub 150g fission that may actually kick out the old one.

    • @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf
      @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      When it comes to MVP family, I have found that the lighter the better. For myself, I try to look for 160-164 if I want the disc to fly close to the numbers. Near max weight if I want a more wind/torque resistant option. Depending on arm, if you are maxing out 300 or less. Look for 150 to 160. If up to 350ft of power, then lower to mid 160’s.

    Insanity's are sick! I still don't understand how they have so much glide considering their shape. A Proton Insanity was the disc that taught me how to throw hyzer flips. I have since replaced them in my bag with a Nebula Aura Mantra which is a bit more understable but pushes more distance for me. I personally think they are more of a 10/11 speed since they are noticeably chunkier in the hand than most 9 speeds and fly so far. If you haven't tried Mantra's in the past, I recommend! They would be a great disc for your format given that their different plastic types almost all provide different flight shapes.

    I was surprised by the torque resistance and stability of the swirly rim proton. I bought a proton 3 years ago that was way more Flippy. About like that neutron was. I bag it for hyzerflip 4hands which is my weakness. I prefer flat release

    • @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf
      @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wonder if the addition of that color swirl in the rims did change the stability. The proton I have has a swirly rim and has good torque resistance like yours. I'll keep an eye open for an older run and see how it flies.

    Fairway driver? Do you mean because it’s a 9 speed? Mine says distance driver on it, maybe because it’s a neutron?

    • @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf
      @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Typically I always feel speed 7-9 are fairway drivers.. speed 10 is borderline. Unlike golf where they have driver, wood, hybrid, irons etc. Speed 9 for me is like a long iron, while the speed 10-11 is your hybrid driver and speed 12 your wood.
      But it will all depend on who you talk to. Like how speed 4 putt and approach discs, like the Zone, is considered a midrange by some and putter by others.

    I have a love/hate relationship with the Insanity. It’s just too inconsistent for me. Likely to do with the fact that it’s just not great in windy conditions. I’m much more consistent with a beat-in Champ Valkyrie. Don’t get me wrong, when it’s good it’s amazing.

      @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I finally got my hands on a solid color rim Proton Insanity. That thing was SO different than my swirly rim Proton. Swirly rim held torque well, while the solid color rim was almost a roller. Now it was slightly used, but looked like it was thrown only a few times before I got it.

    • @JoshJackson13

      @@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf I told you. That's how mine was. I could throw it 80 percent on hyzer backhand and it still would get a huge turn but did fight back at very end. I hit my fence with my swirly rim yesterday and sliced a huge chunk out of the proton plastic. It's not as durable as champion especially when it's hot out. Cosmic neutron is very durable though
