MINI GETS ARCHES - Episode 2 of the half way through Mini 1400 (1275) GT Restoration.

In this video I take 3 hours to do a 15 minute job.

Nice job m8 i learnt to weld on a mini!!! I asked my dad when i was about 14 if he could teach me to weld 2 weeks later he gave me a rotten 1978 mini and a pile of panels!!!!!they rot absolutely everywhere!!!not a fan of grille and lights m8 but if u like em thats all good 😊

You need some arch to body sealing strip from Huddersfiled Mini Spares. It costs £6 for 5 metres. Also when you stick the seem trims on, I would use some blobs of Sikaflex instead of the standard clips. The clips will gauge the paint on the seems and wreck the paint.

What a lovely car mate I had to when I was younger and an mg metro and I took the 1.3 engine from the mg metro and put it in the mini what a great little car it was I loved it

Lot different to my original 1275 GT. white. Boy was it a mover. Loved it until some bastard stole it and totalled it. Still want to meet them though, after 25 years. My minis were 850 basic. 1000 Riley Elf and 1000 Wolsey Hornet.

In defence of people who install mini arches with self tappers when I was 17 and screwing a set of arches onto my old mini 1000HL the wood screws were the only thing that could find purchase against the newspaper and body filler which was all my front wings were made of!

May have been a bit of a pig to do , but the end certainly justified the means , i seem to remember Radford , and Wilson and pickett conversions in the olden days with Quad headlamps , or did i dream it ? Oh yeah it was Wood and Pickett , Wilson Pickett probably never had a mini , but if he did it would have been a cool as yours dude .
