@@SayerofThings There was a year where Canseco and McGuire rivaled the greats as well... these two Red Sucks have longevity though. The yanks can't have all the greats unfortunately
I’m 10:30 in and Manny is still standing awkwardly in the middle of them after abandoning his chair lol I fucking love Manny. I live 15 minutes from downtown Boston and I turned 13 when Manny first signed here, so obviously he was my hero and the first and one of the few jerseys my father ever bought me .
I live in CT diehard redsoxs fan went to college in Boston from 04-08 manny is hands down one of the best hitters and the greatest person ... I wish i can sit down and have a couple drinks with manny...
Really fascinating to hear Ortiz talk about his relationship with the Boston media. And he knows why the media accepted him - he came along at the exact right time and was the single most important offensive player who lead to the team winning the WS in 2004, including the legendary comeback against the Yankees. After that 2004 postseason he basically could do no wrong. It would have taken a SERIOUSLY bad attitude from Ortiz to make the media turn on him, and he was never like that anyway.
Big Papi was not embarrassed by giving interviews in his 2nd language, but Manny was, because he got burned a few times by saying something wrong in English, that he was have not been misunderstood if he said it in Spanish.
Man I loved to hate these guys! I'm glad they won one though. If any Red Sucks deserved to break the curse it was these two... add Pedro. Life long Yankee fan but I loved these guys... shhh don't tell anyone!
Hmm, let’s see…. Over the last twenty years I’m pretty sure the championship count is something like this: Yankees: 1 Red Sox: 4 And I seem to recall back in 2004 that a Sox team with these two on it came back from being down 0-3 in the ALCS to beat them and go on to win the WS.
@@johnnygarcia33133 Maybe there’ll be a rerun on ESPN classic about some of those, except oh wait they didn’t televise games for almost half of those championships xD
I need someone in my life that looks at me like Manny looks at David. What a duo. Two of the best.
