- Carving up the workshop may seem like going backwards, but finding the motivation to continue cutting up my Lotus chassis was difficult... something had to change.

Please stop making everyone else on TH-cam look bad
Ooo hello mr finger, just remember your videos inspire a lot of people too! And as for you soupy boy keep up the great work! Luv ya both x
FACTS!!!!! i wish other youtube videos where not IN YOUR FACE ALL THE TIME!!!!!
Get back to work on that GPZ!
You are getting there as well!
Ronald I feel the same way, but your videos are in a similar category too, how about both of you stop making my videos looks bad. I could just learn to edit better, and actually shoot B roll and good content, but I prefer you all to lower to my bar ;)
God I love these episodes. Is it art?, is it mechanics?, is it engineering?. Not sure, and I don't care.
You're a bloody genius, man. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Concur. Definitely all of the above. We are all friggin so lucky. I started around episode 40 or so; and had to just binge watch from the beginning. WORTH IT.
I absolutely love your photography, and the way you animate everything. It must add so much time to your production, but please know that this is absolutely beautiful, unique, and a real pleasure to watch. Keep it up!
and somehow exciting and relaxing at the same time, if I may add
Nobody does anything like that on YT- very cool and keep on doin it!
Very nice episode George :) I believe every word when you say 23 minutes of content takes forever... because you have higher production standards than most multi billion dollar TV networks AND you're the writer, actor, director, gaffer, habadasher, runner, camera and lighting crew, sound wizard, and editor.
This is a masterclass in the art of making a TH-cam video!
The subliminal messaging in the weld flash is a unique concept! It made me laugh! Thanks George
Thanks for the great original content.
Your videos are exactly how I imagine my mechanic completes repairs on my car…I hope
Another great episode, I can't get enough of this. Cheers mate.
Only you and Project Binky are allowed to take this long between episodes! As always, worth the wait.
Glad!
Love the audio mix between working on the car and background music, it's tasteful and done so right. Also really appreciate how real your videos are, how you don't hide the setbacks and even flubs. Makes it very relatable.
The real is my antidote ;) Thanks Aki
I don't know where you get the energy, mentally and physically to keep going, and then to record, edit and add cool tunes to make these videos. Absolute respect to you!
This is probably the most unique car restoration channel on TH-cam, keep up the good work
It's the only channel where you will see a guy spending 20 episodes repairing a bent hole. And disassembling the welded body mounts 3 times
the most patient man in the world right here. love your work mate
Get's under my skin from time to time but I'm dreaming about the drive at the end ;) Thanks dude
i honestly don't understand how you only have a little over 100 k subs. by far the most easy and fun channel to watch on TH-cam. look forward to every upload. good job mate from Australia
Can't force myself to play the 'hey guys' game 😜
The absolute pinnacle of car restoration and videography. Superb as always. It's been too long George.
THANK YOU for bringing up the topic of wearing a respirator while welding. I do the same. I also work in pulmonology research, and let me tell you, one does not want breathe welding fumes. They're essentially vaporized metal that gets very deep into your lungs. Lastly, this was a triumph of an episode. A real treasure, and worth the wait! Keep up the good work, mate.
It scares me. In fact so much of car restoration is hazardous, and hard on the body. All about safety and preventative measures these days.
George, this is my favorite series to watch. Been waiting patiently for this episode and it didn't disappoint :) Thanks for the awesome work, keep 'em coming
Is there no end to this man’s talents? A pure pleasure to watch.
I hadn't heard of your channel before. A friend sent it to me because he thought I might be impressed by the stop motion. Boy, was he right! This was an awesome video.
Glad you made it, thanks and stick around [and thank your pal for me] :)
THE Most watchable twenty-three minutes in all of TH-cam. Why do I feel so upbeat about watching you do chassis restoration for the better part of half an hour? I can't pinpoint it, but you manage it every damn time. You're nailing it!
And I was worried about this one being the same body of work a second time around. Thanks :)
You're a very talented man, George. Thank you for producing the best content on TH-cam!!
I appreciate that! Thanks quantrell

Oh boy oh boy!
Exactly, thought I was going to pee my pants waiting for the next installment... (scuse the username...)
The space looks great!!!
Absolutely brilliant. You are a craftsman.
Just beautiful. Watching that hole appear on the chassis piece is pure art! And it’s genuine motivation to keep going on my restoration project when it all seems too much. One step at a time is the message - loud and clear. Thanks George.
One step at a time Graham!
Thank you for the time you spent in all your video , it’s a really pleasure to look . Hello from France
Great to have you back, George! Excited for all new project coming from you!
love this channel cant wait to see that lotus complete.
Thanks George. Another great one as always. Keep em coming.
Phenomenal stuff, thanks George
That Soup stamp in the metal is a nice, subtle touch of personalization to the project. Nicely done!
Just in case anyone thinks they're getting this car while I'm around ;)
My heart is full. Just bloody lovely work.
Love that! Thanks
Excellent work as always!
Thanks Dave
Brilliant update well done 👍

Amazing, love the unique style of your video's and the fact you are saving an Esprit.
Glad you are keeping it up!
Trying hard!
I literally checked the channel yesterday to see if I missed an upload. Glad you're back 👍
Great work, it amazes me how something is so light but is so strong ,your welding is very good!
Awesome work George 💪

Your attention to detail is amazing love it
May be counter productive ;)
Great to see another video from you!!! Good work on that chassis it looks brand new.

Liking the soup logo on the repair panel - very subtle , but very good !
Better than a lo-jack
Been waiting for this video since your last one was released and finally it’s here and of course it did not disappoint at all.
Cheers Chris
Best way to start the week !!
Beautiful photography as ever. Worth the wait.
Cheers Richard
As always it was just an absolute pleasure to watch!
Fantastic, very therapeutic.
Brilliant episode a real craftsman and the video work absolutely first class, over the moon you are back on the Esprit
Just bloody good as always.
Yet once again! you managed to make a harsh day end in a high tone, thanks for sharing your great passion
Glad to hear that :) Thanks a mill
Missed you, so good to see your back, love your content,
Great to see another episode! Chassis is looking great!
Thanks a mill
I’ve spent all day watching all the Lotus videos and didn’t do any work. Love the level of craft you bring - it’s real DIY as you do and learn and do again. Btw.. it’s a little late now, but you should use weld through primer.. comes in copper or zinc. Prime your pieces before welding and you don’t need to grind to bare metal when you weld.
its coming along beautifully, we cant wait to see it finished.
Why would you want this fantastic artistry to end, at the end it will be just a car?
You are an artist.
:)
Well done George. Another fantastic episode. Amazing work!
Cheers Martin
I could watch stop motion metalwork all day. Bravo!
Thanks
Chassis and shop looking awesome!
Thanks 👍
Miss you George!!!!!
You are the very very best!
Hope to see you soon
Excellent work, entertaining, interesting and educational.
Cheers!
As someone who studied mechanical engineering I love these videos. I am working on a Lotus Excel from 1988 but definitely not into this much detail. Respect.
They're a lovely car! I would only hope for you it doesn't need to be this much detail lol. Best of luck with it and thanks.
Great work, George, keep her lit!
Always Paul, cheers :)
AMAZINGNES!!! Back at it again!!!
Cheers Pontus
just exquisite as always George...
Simply amazing sir!

Another amazing video George. Very relaxing and therapeutic to watch. Looking forward to seeing this car finished.
Me too, seems a long way off but it'll get there. Thanks Mitch
WOW!!! I have SO much respect for your work! Your commitment and patience is an inspiration. Can’t believe I haven’t found you until now, but so glad I did! 🙏🏼
Love the content love the editing love the nice relaxed vibe, TH-cam doesn't get much better than this...
Lovely slow TV. Perfect for the times. Keep it up!
Love it man, thanks.
Well worth the wait!

captivating. Glad to see this is still on the cards
Couldn't ever let this one go, Thanks :)
Great work, must feel so good to complete the welding for now 😉
Nice work George. You make the mundane interesting as always.
George! Top notch posting keep them coming dude :-)
More soon Rab, cheers!
Great vid George, as usual. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. 😉
Was a long wait James, thanks for sticking it out :)
First time viewer and subbed by the time you started to repair the bottom of the chassis. Amazing production talent that must take you an ordainment amount of time but that is art and you are an extraordinary artist. Well here I go (excitedly) down another rabbit hole....now back to your video.
Lol an ordainment? Yeah it's one of those things, a penance ;) Thanks for the sub!
@@soupclassicmotoring *inordinate ..although your talent definitely comes from a higher source!!
Yay! He's back! Thanks very much. :D
It was worth waiting for the next video! In my opinion one of the best automotive restoration YT channels of the moment! Thanks!
Brilliant job on that chassis
Cheers Bill
True artist in many ways
Well worth the wait.
Your work is amazing and so good to watch. Even a bolt coming out of its threaded hole all on its own :) Wow.
Thank you very much! :)
Fantastic work, I really look forward to seeing more, giving me encouragement to do a better job on my 42 willys MB
I've seen those being put together in minutes by four men teams. Weren't they crated to war zones as TKD kits? No pressure 🤣 Thanks a mill
Thank you for this video! I’m amazed by a couple of Lotus things. One is how amazing the engineering is and the other is how frail they are. They almost seem cheaply made but I know that’s it’s to be lightweight. They seem just cobbled together!
I’m sure others will know the Colin Chapman design philosophy of ‘make it as light as you can then subtract strength/weight until it breaks……and add just a little bit back”…..hence the ‘rolling experiment’ feel of his wonderfully delicate & elegant designs
I think the trick is to separate the design from the build quality. Not that they were badly made, just a bit scruffy in places, which helps me hide the scruffier job I can muster ;)
I am just stunned to see your content..its the best i ever found on youtube..the details and perfection you add to your work is phenomenal..thumbs up bro..keep it up..
Love you🥰💕💞
The word 'meticulous' springs to mind, George. And yes, I do like your welds
I may have glossed past them ;D
Love the videos!
Thanks a mill :)
Haha really laughed out loud at the plate/chassis scratching bit XD
Simply amazing
Thanks a lot 😊
