Well, it didn't work that way for my installation. After (9:18) none of the rest of that information came up. I know this is a good printer, but this installation part did not work that way and it was very frustrating. I don't know if I'm registered or not ... or have all the drivers. I didn't know this Model 8710 could work and print with USB cable and Wireless, both system installed....today, thanks to Lord. I worked very hard, for more than 15 days trying to set the system properly. The instructions don't say a word that this can be done. I was bothering technicians for 15 days o more, finally, a lady technician was the one who found....why the PRINTER didn't print to command from the key.

Assuming that you are asking whether the printer can have simultaneous cabled and wireless connections, yes that is possible. Normally the computer that is hardwired would not also use a wireless connection to the printer as there is no need. The wireless connection would generally be used by other computers that are more physically separated.

This video was a big help. I have a HP OfficeJet 8710 All In One (not Pro). The instructions just say to follow the illustrations on the set up flyer. Those little diagrams are hard to follow. The video's cartridge installation was especially helpful! Two questions: 1. What is the purpose of the door on the back of printer? 2. Why didn't you just install the ink cartridges left to right?

If you want to connect two devices simultaneously to the same cable then you ether need a hub or a switch. Just bought mine. No Software in the box. No fax or phone cable. paper tray not secured as shown in video with the blue tape and cardboard. However, only took me about ten minutes to have everything fully installed and working perfectly. I hooked up via USB Cable and not Wifi.

I have an office pro all in one 8710 printer that I had to uninstall and reinstall to resolve print issues. unfortunately, I have misplaced the initial installation disk. HP has been noncompliant in trying to get a replacement disk or even download the data to install the original programing. The only information I can get out of HP is that my printer is out of warranty and would you like to purchase a new printer.... really? HP all I was asking you for was the installation data so I can use my existing printer. I have on hand several spares of Ink and do not wish to throw away these expensive cartridges just so HP can sell another printer. So HP please step up and provide customer support instead of sales only.

Check thoroughly for any type of obstruction. A "paper jam" could be caused by any debris that has fallen into or been feed through the printer. This could include paper clips, staples, bits of plastic, thumb tacks, caps from pens, etc.
HP Printer Support having the same issue cleaned it all out n still says paperjam n nothing is there. When I click ok on the paperjam message the paper shoots out unjammed with nothing wrong with it. Don't know what's wrong with it...

Fortunately this printer is discontinued as it simply would not reliably connect via WiFi. I am forever resetting the network and reinstalling the printer on my Windows 10 computer. It would work for a while than stop communicating with my computer; I used the standard network wizard, direct connect and HP smart and it didn't matter, same issues every time. I have 3 windows 10 computers and changed my wifi carrier, modems and routers and it didn't matter. It is simply a buggy printer that won't stay connected with wifi. When it works it's a quality printer, (recently it was developed that habit of printing half a page and then just shutting down the print job leaving the paper stuck halfway in the printer) but having to go to war with it monthly to make it to work indicated that I choose poorly when buying this printer.

Printer works good until the color ink runs out. You have to keep constantly replacing the color ink even though you only need black and white images. I have tons of black toner left yet I can't use the printer because I have to replace all the color cartridges. This printer is a waste of money. Just get a regular black and white printer.

+49erdan A star shared regular Ethernet network can not be split by just tying cable together. If you want to connect two devices simultaneously to the same cable then you ether need a hub or a switch. A physically wired 1:1 splitter which means that you need to switch off one of the devices connected to it while the other is connected. Or a dual 100mbit Ethernet over a single 8 wire cable

It is likely normal noises as the printer does a self test, and whatever else it normally does to initialize itself, such as printhead maintenance. If the noise is abnormally loud are continuous let me know.

Just bought mine. No Software in the box. No fax or phone cable. paper tray not secured as shown in video with the blue tape and cardboard. However, only took me about ten minutes to have everything fully installed and working perfectly. I hooked up via USB Cable and not Wifi.

I have an office pro all in one 8710 printer that I had to uninstall and reinstall to resolve print issues. unfortunately, I have misplaced the initial installation disk. HP has been noncompliant in trying to get a replacement disk or even download the data to install the original programing. The only information I can get out of HP is that my printer is out of warranty and would you like to purchase a new printer.... really? HP all I was asking you for was the installation data so I can use my existing printer. I have on hand several spares of Ink and do not wish to throw away these expensive cartridges just so HP can sell another printer. So HP please step up and provide customer support instead of sales only.

Check thoroughly for any type of obstruction. A "paper jam" could be caused by any debris that has fallen into or been feed through the printer. This could include paper clips, staples, bits of plastic, thumb tacks, caps from pens, etc.
HP Printer Support having the same issue cleaned it all out n still says paperjam n nothing is there. When I click ok on the paperjam message the paper shoots out unjammed with nothing wrong with it. Don't know what's wrong with it...

Fortunately this printer is discontinued as it simply would not reliably connect via WiFi. I am forever resetting the network and reinstalling the printer on my Windows 10 computer. It would work for a while than stop communicating with my computer; I used the standard network wizard, direct connect and HP smart and it didn't matter, same issues every time. I have 3 windows 10 computers and changed my wifi carrier, modems and routers and it didn't matter. It is simply a buggy printer that won't stay connected with wifi. When it works it's a quality printer, (recently it was developed that habit of printing half a page and then just shutting down the print job leaving the paper stuck halfway in the printer) but having to go to war with it monthly to make it to work indicated that I choose poorly when buying this printer.

Bought this printer and i want to break it
In pieces its garbage 10 on hours on customer service trying to figure out why is my wifi network not connecting to the printer. It will connect and then disconnect called twice and the problem was never fix smh!!
If you still have the printer, it is not physically damaged, and you want to troubleshoot your connection issue; please use HP's "Guided Troubleshooter for Wireless Network and Internet Problems" ( ow.ly/raN4301zHo6 ). I've already chosen "Printer has wireless connection issues" for you.
This is why I don't purchase HP products. I recommend Canon :)
Printer works good until the color ink runs out. You have to keep constantly replacing the color ink even though you only need black and white images. I have tons of black toner left yet I can't use the printer because I have to replace all the color cartridges. This printer is a waste of money. Just get a regular black and white printer.
