I´ve ordered a open roofed Competizione with Manual Gear, in black with red stripes and belts, but no Mechanical LSD and no Bodykit. Also got Xenon, Alcantara Dash and Alcantara-Leather-Seats. - sry for my rusty English - Greetings from Austria! The Competizione got bigger brakes, but because of it´s depth and heigh you can´t get much sort of Rims on it.
That sounds like a great spec, congrats! 👏 I have driven the 2021 Competizione in several videos. But never the open roof version :). Here is one with the Competizione: th-cam.com/video/ovS2sEUib-M/w-d-xo.html
Haha, I purchased for more than 1.000 HP during the 10 last years, 250, 280, 300, etc but this pocket rocket is just an excellent HAVE FUN CAR with only 180 hp stock for only 1070 kg... PS : 2 weeks after purchase, stage 1 and now 234 HP, just creasy fun with AKRAPOVIC exhaust stock of course ! 🤪🤪🤪 and of course, I drive E85 gazoline... 🙂
That is not an automatic box! It is the MTA. It is the same manual box with a single clutch but the shifts are activated by the paddles in manual mode. They activate the servo to move the clutch. You have to lift off the accelerator slightly (as if you were going to press the clutch on a manual) then flick the paddle and accelerate. Just pulling the paddle while accelerating makes the car lurch. If you didn't lift off in a normal manual you'd have the same effect. When you learn how to drive it, you can change faster than a real manual AND keep both hand on the wheel 😎
Thanks for the extra info Andrew! They sell it as a 5 speed sequential box I believe. And it feels very single clutch indeed. :) So it’s a car that you shouldn’t drive in full automatic mode at all. Guess a lot of people that buy these never realize you can drive it like you explain. It also makes it a slower car in acceleration when you have to release the throttle with every gear change. I get the system, but I still don’t get the car. ✌️😅 Thanks for watching & commenting!
@@johnnypovdrives But in a manual with a gear stick you have to lift off the accelerator too... Clutch down & off accelerator , shift, clutch up & accelerate. The MTA is doing the clutch and shift. You don't have to come off the accelerator fully, but a slight lift makes it smoother. Still faster in the real world than a gear stick manual. 👍
@@anewiss So you feel when the car starts to shift and you anticipate each time by lifting the throttle a bit to make the shift smoother? That must feel really strange in the beginning, I'd really have to practice on that. Lovely to see you back here in the comments! 🤝
@@johnnypovdrives At least cupholders can be worked around with third party inserts or vent ones, but still, surely at least one is mandatory in any vehicle lol. I am not sure if you are making fun of me or not though, but if not, thanks for agreeing that a place to rest your arm is important!
@@teddym2808 Hi Teddy, I don't make fun of the people that watch my content, but I do fool around a lot. To me having an armrest is nice, but not an actual deal breaker in this car because I wouldn't do long distances with it anyway. Thanks for watching! ✨🙏✨

its just really a shame that they dont make good automatic cars! Im a new driver, got my license a few months ago and sadly, I can only drive automatic cars. What would be your recommendations for me? Do you think its better to go for a different brand or automatic can still bring me some fun as a new driver? Thanks!
Thanks for you comment & congrats on getting that license! The automatic transmission in this Abarth is just crap. But there's a wide selection of good automatics out there. The 9-speed automatic Mercedes builds is great. But also the newest Volkswagen DSG is ok if you don't want to spend Mercedes money :).
Is the Renault Clio 4 RS an option? I owned a 2017 one (Phase 2, improved automatic) and quite fancied it. It shifted very quickly in sport or race mode.
@@gilles4588 Hi, thanks for your opinion and advice on that! I mean yes, I kind of considered to get a renault sport car like Renault Megane RS (Automatic version) which is the only Renault sports version available here in Latvia so I dont have any other sports car option if I want to get a new renault here. I will try to look into it and hopefully, I can find a decent auto sports car with my limited amount of budget soon.
Haven't driven the Turismo in manual, just the Competzione. But that was WAY better than the automatic in this one. So I would definitely go with the manual.
One thing what really is annoying is, that between 5 and 60 kph the exhaustvalves are closed in sport mode. There can´t be read about it, nowhere. Sounds a bit like i choke and strangle my Motor, when driven from the stand away.
@@johnnypovdrives no, only when idle, when drive up to 3-5 kph and above 60 kph. Sure, when you accelate from stand and kick down first gear through to 60 kph the valves won´t close completly but the Engine and tyres will not thank you for this. This is all because of noise reduction when driving in town.
Which one would you pick, the luxury and open roof experience of this 595 Turismo or the race car vibe of the 595 Competizione?
