I think this was the best interview I've seen from Ricky. He seemed to be really enjoying himself - oh and clearly worried about the fellow to took the bike for the spin.
Being a decades long fan of RC4 & getting to see Dan & crew get to interact with him outside with the bike is fantastic. And so happy to see him prepped to give Dan a custom Monster helmet that only sponsored riders get. Dan may not realize just how prized a helmet like that is but his genuine gratitude, the engaging questions…just a perfect video collaboration!!’
I agree, it was dope outside and they seemed genuinely curious. It was like when your buddies are drinkin' in the garage and start talking about whatever's there lol.
@lickalgae5710 You know, and I appreciate all the kind words and compliments and everything, but the comparisons to my Pro Racing Career, which was Wonderful and included Heroic Wins, Podium Finishes, and Wild Chicks and all, really shouldn't be confused with The GOAT or The King. Let's just all agree that having a Pro Racing Career was an Amazing Experience and left me with an inexhaustible fortune, Sports Cars, and Exotic Women at my disposal. Otherwise, I really don't like to talk about it or anything.
I first watched Ricky race at Glen Helen on his 125 when he turned pro. They had the 1st race of the outdoor season there back then. I was a fan from the start. Even got the shirt. Thanks Dan
Good segment I was laughing the whole time. Too bad Ricky can't just be himself like that on the broadcast . We gotta get dan to a race who do I hafta call to make this happen
RCs titles and records, championships and wins are beyond mind blowing to those who race and are involved with the sport,it's great to see this exposure for MX/SX..these guys are world class athletes on par with cyclists and endurance sports
Glad to see the sport get some recognition!! Been historic racing from outdoors MX between Tomac & Chase then Team USA winning 2022 Motocross Des Nation with Tomac, Sexton & Cooper. Then Indoors SX to Eli’s injury literally losing the Championship. Then 2023 outdoors & Jett’s perfect championship. Oh ya I almost forgot the first ever SMX Championship.
Around the 10:15ish mark...people that love motorcycles tend to forget most people don't ride and have no idea how to operate these machines. I'd rather be on 2 wheels all day everyday given the choice...and usually am! Nice change of pace interview here. 👍
Great interview. Been riding and racing (all amatuer...nowhere near the speed of the pros) since the 70's, and following MX/SX vehemently since I started riding. The main thing I remember about Carmichael was the talk at the beginning of the season how the new guy or the talented guy coming off injury was going to beat RC because he did this or that better. Then, once the season started, the only thing that would happen was RC would just bury that throttle against its stop longer than before, and continue his winning ways. The guy was a win machine. His presence destroyed a lot of very good riders' dreams of being champion. 0:53 Pretty wild RC never ran across the history to the shift pattern. My understanding, having heard it multiple times from old pros being interviewed, was that if the pattern put neutral at the end, the fear was riders downshifting would put the bike into neutral too often. Anyone who raced motorcycles, especially off road, knows that can be the kiss of death if it happens at the wrong time.
I stopped immediately when I saw Dan Patrick-Ricky Carmichael, you never see that! All the years I’ve followed RC though, I never knew the story about his number.🙏🏻 #thegoat
Dan continues to be the model professional. Thank you for giving motocross some attention. Great interview Ricky. Also, I was at the Dallas race where he almost hit the boat!
Awesome to see you guys learn some new stuff! Ricky was my childhood hero and I love sports but racing is life! I listen to the show everyday so I was pumped up when I heard about this last week!
I am impressed by the relative knowledge of the guys at the show. These are sometimes awkward when the interviewer knows little. Good job, Dan and the crew.
Did we watch the same video? I'm not sure I've ever seen a more clueless bunch of dudes when it comes to bikes. One of them asked why it didn't have a PDK transmission. Why would it? How would that make it more fit for purpose in any way?
Wow...that was a trip.! As a lifelong offroader....always interesting to be with people that don't ride.. it was cool to see these guys hearing from RC ...I always get a kick when people say how is this hard ? All you do is sit on it. Hahahahahaha
Watching the show on Peacock Friday there was segments of this on commercial breaks. It was weird without much introduction and it must have been taped earlier in the week as the cast had on different clothes for the show.
Being a short guy, I always loved seeing smaller guys win anything, so Ricky was always fun to see when he would absolutely crush the big and tall guys on a MX track!
Taller generally means heavier. Weight is the enemy of performance. Motorsports are made for dwarves. Which makes the careers of people like Kyle Partridge and Benny Bloss that much more impressive. They never should have been professional motocross and supercross racers. Someone of their stature would be more suited to rally.
I'll say that ol' RC the goat is extremely humble about his career. If it's just a show for the camera then he's done a great job of being consistent about it and never slipping that I'm aware of.
I always wondered what all the other pro motocrossers must feel when they see Ricky, knowing that this little guy is the Greatest motocrosser of all time, I'm so happy for Ricky he showed them all, wow, he's an inspiration.
OMG Ricky...you def hand your hands full with this group of guys. I wuz feeling sorry for you bro having not known some of these guys had zero experience riding. You showed great patience and handled it well. But I bet deep inside u were feeling like oh shit....wtf have i gotten myself into here ? 🤨😬😟🙄 ✌️n♥ T.L.E.
Im surprised did not have that guy move up on the seat get his nuts over the tank, he was way to far back, so shocked Rickey didnt make him choke up a little..
Great interview! I was cringing when the guy sat on the back of the seat and Ricky said nothing. For those who don't know, the bike will corner much better when sitting on the front (watch Ricky ride it), and if the bike starts "getting away from you", you're already about to fall off and there's not much leverage to pull yourself back forward at that point.
Ricky will always look best in Kawi Green.... Green Machine forever. In my honest opinion, When the sports world talk about Greatest of all Time... MX and SX racers should be included and Ricky is in all sports combined he is the Greatest of all Time...
I'm here because I've never seen The Dan Patrick Show do a motorcycle based interview. The Triumph is a nice looking machine, good job RC.
Ricky is being humble! He is quite possibly the gnarliest guy on 2 wheels ever. Great interview
I think he’s humble now because he was the MJ of his time and did not make friends with any rider and they all obviously resented him lol
HAHA AWESOME! I love motocross. It's great to see Carmichael and the sport get some exposure on this platform. Thank you DP for embracing our sport.
Friday morning Fox Business did a piece from the Philly SX. Nice to see that.
I have no doubt if RC came up in this generation, he'd still end up the goat. His tenacity, determination, and work ethic were unmatched.
until Stewart showed up 🤣
Agreed. Wild to find out he wasn't driven by winning....he was afraid to lose.
@@sapper3504 His work ethic was greater than Stewart's. Stewart had more natural talent and was willing to take big risks. Both historic riders.
I think this was the best interview I've seen from Ricky. He seemed to be really enjoying himself - oh and clearly worried about the fellow to took the bike for the spin.
Jalek swoll is is doing a great job on this bike, very respectful for a brand new machine.

Love to see the goat on the show !!! Super cool !!
Great show.Showcasing the greatest sport on Earth
"Just don't even fuck with this, don't even fuck with that!" Hahaha Love it RC.
Ricky Carmichael is the goat.
facts
There's a New GOAT in town and his name is Jett.
@@superfly3990 do you know the meaning of GOAT?
@lickalgae5710 You know, and I appreciate all the kind words and compliments and everything, but the comparisons to my Pro Racing Career, which was Wonderful and included Heroic Wins, Podium Finishes, and Wild Chicks and all, really shouldn't be confused with The GOAT or The King. @@superfly3990 There can't be more than one goat. When Jett beats Ricky's record, then and only then will be be able to call himself the goat.
Great interview!❤
Wow nice Dan, Ricky is a GOAT in Motocross for many years and dominated!!!!
Ricky Carmichael doing donuts in your parking lot, priceless!!!
The GOAT.
This 2024 supercross season has been amazing.
No kidding, 23 min segment on Dan Patrick was flawless, he did a great job. Ricky tomorrow on the broadcast of the race will be painful to listen to.
RCs titles and records, championships and wins are beyond mind blowing to those who race and are involved with the sport,it's great to see this exposure for MX/SX..these guys are world class athletes on par with cyclists and endurance sports
Dude sitting so far back on the seat made me think he's going to loop it 😂🤘
I was literally talking to the screen telling Ricky to make him scoot up before letting him go.
Dear God. Thank you for not letting Dan pull a Regis Philbin. I can still picture Regis crashing a scooter.
I’m very fortunate to know and hang with the Triumph guys. They are for sure new and growing but are delivering above expectations
Telling him not to F*%& with the front brake 😂
fuckin love ricky hahaha

Great interview and group interaction. Ricky did a great job. It helps elevate our sport!!
I’m 60 and have seen Ricky his whole racing career and post racing. What a great guy.
Ricky is GOAT. such a likable guy and one of the greatest post race careers too! amazing commentator during the races.

Ricky is great at this kind of thing👍. Bravo
And of course, Ricky can ride the shit out of a motorcycle!!!
That was pretty dang cool
Awesome to see the only Ricky Carmichael!!
Do thank you for your time. You are great at your history, trophys show. But fans see.
So great to see us get to show off our sport on the main stage.
Great to see RC get the attention and represent moto to mainstream sports journalist icon - Dan Patrick! The best person in the world RC!
I am impressed by the relative knowledge of the guys at the show. These are sometimes awkward when the interviewer knows little. Good job, Dan and the crew.

Two legends in their own right, great segment!!
So awesome!
Love the DP show & Ricky Carmichael
I don’t think the can can got him. I thought it was the breaking bump 😂
Great job,RC!
Nice! Glad to see the sport on the Dan Patrick show. lol I was waiting on a crash 😂 dude was sitting in Loop out position lol
Ricky told em , "don't fk with that front brake " 😅🤣

That was awesome!
Watching the show on Peacock Friday there was segments of this on commercial breaks. It was weird without much introduction and it must have been taped earlier in the week as the cast had on different clothes for the show.
It's fun to see the show branch out to something so different but still competitive. Hope to see the helmet in the cave.

Awesome RC!
"Don't even fuck with that." 😂😂
when i saw how far back he sat, I became very anxious
Why was he back there to begin with? He looked so uncomfortable the entire time. Surprised he didn't instaloop it.
Nice job RC, cool group good vibe
Can't believe it's a Trumpet. I did not know that they had entered the MX market.
Amazing 🎉
This was really cool! Love ricky, watched him race in Troy ohio like 2001 - 2002
I got my Triumph TF 250-F last week and I love it. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Let's go Patrick 🎉🎉🎉 getting the GOAT on with this badazz bike
I love Ricky. He’s such a good guy
Slick Rick was so far ahead of ….. EVERYONE ….. he crashes and still finishes 1st.
He was amazing to watch.
I was like wait Triumph did a 6 speed till Ricky corrected himself. Miss the Ricky, Bubba and Chad days, I never missed a week.
I think I aged 3 years from the minute RC grabbed the helmet. Until minute 17 🤣
Very cool. Best meets best. Very entertaining
Soon as he gets on bike his so comfortable!!
Good One Ricky!🐐🏍💨 #TheGoat #RickyCarmichael #BackToWorkNow

I will say that espn was definitely better back when it had Dan and supercross/motocross
For sports guys, these guys know NOTHING about motorsports. 😂
This was our jordan Outdoors .. Jeremy was jordan indoors . ...
“11 races”. Shows 3 fingers. 😂
One common denominator to anyone not familiar with a dirtbike, and always makes me extremely nervous, is how far back on the seat they sit!
Im surprised did not have that guy move up on the seat get his nuts over the tank, he was way to far back, so shocked Rickey didnt make him choke up a little..
As soon as the first guy climbed on the very back of the seat, I got extremely nervous
i love it no wheelies or showing off just some mad drifting in the parking lot so wholesome haha only one goat#1
I would say the donuts were more showing off than wheelies would have been. Wheelies are easy. Donuts like that are much more difficult.
Ricky humble as always. He knows he kicked more ass on 2 wheels than anybody in history though 😂
More moto please!!!
Love rc on a bike and in the booth
Love Dirt bikes-all racing! R C is awesome!!!!
Motocross and Supercross is so much fun to watch! I liked racing hare scrambles though…
Honestly think RC did great 🖤🖤so glad this great sport is growing just hope it doesn’t ruin it like some sports w all the rules
😂 Ricky did a great job
Casey Heyward for the Steelers? You mean Cam Heyward?
The GOAT RC4!
when peeps say Ricky Carmichael is a bad announcer... Go replicate that then talk!
That first track he raced at i didnt lose there for 10 years.. dade city
Dan if you see this, ricky is the baby ruth of motocross.
