T-34s had terrible survivability for the driver or the radio operator, there wasn't a lot of spare room in there for the shell to not murder them. The M4 Sherman actually had a damn good survivability rate for its crews, to the point they could leave the tank, hop in a truck, and get their old girl back by the end of the week at the latest. The myth of the Sherman burning easily was from the Germans shooting a knocked out M4 until it caught on fire because the USA had the best damn logistics train in the world, and if you didn't burn it out then that tank would be back killing your friends in a week. Better to make them make a whole new tank and ship it over than have it repaired at the nearest FOB. That said, the T-34 was an okay tank and it worked for the time, but being honest here, the Sherman was a better tank at first, it didn't suffer the same mechanical problems. They were on about an even keel with one another come the end of the war though. The T-34-85 and the M4 (76) and the Firefly were wonderful tanks that did their jobs well. Wow this got long, sorry about that.

@@frenchsoldier8485 The gunner, loader, and commander maybe. T-34s had terrible survivability for the driver or the radio operator, there wasn't a lot of spare room in there for the shell to not murder them.
The M4 Sherman actually had a damn good survivability rate for its crews, to the point they could leave the tank, hop in a truck, and get their old girl back by the end of the week at the latest.
The myth of the Sherman burning easily was from the Germans shooting a knocked out M4 until it caught on fire because the USA had the best damn logistics train in the world, and if you didn't burn it out then that tank would be back killing your friends in a week.
Better to make them make a whole new tank and ship it over than have it repaired at the nearest FOB.
That said, the T-34 was an okay tank and it worked for the time, but being honest here, the Sherman was a better tank at first, it didn't suffer the same mechanical problems. They were on about an even keel with one another come the end of the war though. The T-34-85 and the M4 (76) and the Firefly were wonderful tanks that did their jobs well.
