    Replacing the old and crusty bushings lol. Probably hands down best bang for the buck mod you can do is upgrade these bushings for overall shifter feel and general shifting performance.
    Great install vid man, keep them coming.

    Thanks for the video. I have a new Cobb short shifter and bushings sitting in the box which I need to install in my '09 WRX. Just been putting it off as I thought you have to drop the exhaust. Great to see that's not necessary.

    I just did shifter bushings yesterday. I also installed whiteline transmission crossmember bushings, since you remove the crossmember anyway. well worth it, much better than stock!

    Great video. Very informative. Since I live in the Northeast US, I'm going to wait to do the bushings for when I change out the exhaust - no sense in trying to wrestle with rusted bolts more than once.

    I like your exhaust set up do you think it will fit a 2011 wrx?

    • @SubieShakedown
      @SubieShakedown  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am running a 2015 wrx exhaust setup on my 2012. So It should work on your 2011. I’d recommend some grimmspeed exhaust hangers though. Mine are pretty tight, but hey, they work.

    With aftermarket bushings, that rear one is shaped to contour the body and its easy to install it upside down. So watch out for that. Also, these bushings will help w slop but will not solve it - you need to replace the bushings in the pivot bearing for the shifter as well and - most crucially - the white plastic cup besring for the ball joint of the shifter. That $3 piece of plastic ia where most of your slop is.

    Hey there. So I have the wrx 2009 Ej25 UK. I also have the same short shifter as you. Only problem I have, is no more ridiculous travel between shifts, but hard getting into 1st and reverse when engine is cold. Great video though 🤘🤘🤘🤘🙌👊👊

      Really, that’s weird? Have you tried adjusting the lower adjustment or maybe some new/different trans fluid?
      Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! 🤛

      @@SubieShakedown I think I bought the car from a, one owner, right at the end time of Subaru warranty end. All good though. It's really hard to find any videos for this year and model of subaru. Full fluid change over the whole car is next to come, man that's megga $$$ lol

    You are wild with that dirty mustache comment😅. Looks like you were right on time with this install...it was time to replace them.

      Haha! The mustache was way better than the monkey tail beard I had for a couple days! It’s incredible the difference. I haven’t had a GR WRX for around 5 years and forgot what good bushings feel like. Almost feels like like the 15+ wrxs now.
