    I love the small things he took consideration of, as the placing of washer and dryer further from the living space/bedroom. This truly makes a difference, small but still significant to improve the living conditions. Although some aspects of the place are not quite my "vibe" I do really love it, the use of materials, the placements, how it truly caters to the owner's needs (living alone and thus not having a need for more things, like sofa).

    I'm Korean and a longtime subscriber to NTS and I had such a big smile when I saw this on my home page! I love the modern redesign of the apartment and I loved seeing the Korean representation on this channel. The layout of this unit is quite typical of a small Korean apartment (usually referred to as "officetels" or "one-rooms") but the remodeling seems like it was perfectly suited to the client's needs and elevates the unit with the high quality finishing/appliances, built in accents and storage/entertainment unit. Altogether a great design and I could definitely see myself living here (although I'm not sure if I can pay the remodeling fees!) Great job, Pil :)
    Small space living is quite common in Korea, as you can imagine with the number of NTS videos featuring homes in East Asian countries. We value efficiency, quality, and aesthetics very highly and there are a lot of other Korean interior design channels that I think a lot of people would love here. My favorite is 오늘의집 (Today's Home) for if anyone's interested!

    Love how the designer tailored this to his client's specific needs. He did a great job creating discrete living spaces in a long, rectangular space without making it feel choppy. I particularly love how you can see all the way to the window from the door: it's not at all closed-off. And I always appreciate a design where the computer or work area can be tucked away when it's not in use. Plus, all that storage! Very well-done.

    I love the simplicity and functionality of this design. It spends space where it's most useful and conserves it where it's not. Some designs seem more oriented around entertaining guests at home, which always seems antithetical to choosing to live in a tiny apartment in a dense urban neighborhood. Just go out to a restaurant! You live in the middle of the city, there are 100 of them within walking distance! I love designs like this which instead prioritize making the primary resident comfortable and happy in their space.

    • @silvasilvasilva
      @silvasilvasilva 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If thaťs the owner's priority, what the rest of us think or want is immaterial. Thaťs the beauty of a bespoke project.

    • @VMYeahVN
      @VMYeahVN 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eh i don't think the only option for entertaining guests should always be going out to a restaurant or other public place where you have to spend a ton of money. Sometimes it would be nice to have your friends come over for a small gathering that is in private (for example a movie night with your friends where everyone picks a favorite movie to bring, which you can't do in a public theater). And with apartments this size you literally can't do that. For me, a place like the one in this video but even just bumped up to like 600 square feet up from the 480 it currently is, just so there's room for a decent sofa for when i would want to have like 2 or 3 friends over (or even slightly more space for the office area, because my work requires i have two monitors instead of one for example) would be ideal in my opinion. But it's personal preference or depends on how you like to interact with your friends i guess.

    One of those projects that definitely took into consideration the client's wants, but also portable enough to be a good starting template for other units of the same-ish layout (the details for the sliding door, the wood material that extended fr the kitchen to the room - these things greatly contribute to the vibe of the space and I see these as something you can choose to replace depending on your style/taste which can very much change up the vibe of the unit altogether). Very smart and inspiring design. Loved this!

    Love how everything here looks cozy and warm. The wood definitely is a great choice, it's a traditional element that's been streamlined and is both decorative and functional. I particularly like that you can cover the office space to partially hide it - it creates kind of a physical as well as mental barrier between work and sleep. The kitchen is wonderful, especially for such a small space. It feels like everything the client needs to be comfortable has been thought of without sacrificing space.

    The slatted partition covering the entryway from the bed POV while letting the sunlight in is such a design WIN. As an introvert, I’d absolutely need that division and would get anxious from a direct path of vision. The slats give that Korean flair. Chef’s kiss

    I was born and grew up in Seoul. This is a really common structure in the city. We call this type of studio an officetel. Honestly, I'm tired of this same structure everywhere I go, but this interior design is a really good solution that breaks away from the boring uniformity. Nice work!

    I imagine that watching and listening the clothes tumbling in the washing machine and dryer, is relaxing, or enjoyable when cooking. Also, walking round the too massive island in the kitchen is also, enjoyable.

    Simplicity at its finest. Nir as easy as it seems to reco simple, minimalist solutions when it aeems the prevailing mantra is "flashy is better". The ergonomic chairs in lieu of the usual couch speaks volumes about how the designer tailored the design to the client's personality and preferences wothout compromising on the aesthetics.

    This is simple yet incredibly chic. It's obviously well thought out and designed by a professional, but it's not over designed. I love those sliding wooden doors. The only thing missing for me would be a comfy couch which I would use a lot even when living alone.

    I love the design. I couldn't live in the city but this would be very nice for a visit. Thank you for the consideration of storage. An entire wall of nothing but closet, appliances and more storage is phenomenal! I really liked the wood dividers. That is very stately and elegant yet not over bearing. And my gosh her plants are very happy. Thank you for the beautiful showing.

    Part of our startup each day is to sit up in bed with a favourite coffee, and watch a video from our TH-cam "Architecture" folder. When the video ends, we move it to either "Architecture - Yes", or "Architecture - No".
    The "Architecture - No" folder contains hundreds of videos... the "Architecture - Yes" folder contains only a handful, and it now includes this delightful production. That is a wonderfully empathetic design, thank you for sharing it with us.
