Thanks for the summary! I'm strictly a spectator but I'd rather hear all the changes along with analysis to get a better idea of what's coming.
I'm gald they're reworking some of these rules because this year was a mess compared to older ones. I didn't like hearing about all the 7-2 players who got nothing from a regional. It hurt my motivation to try at all, but now I might give 2024 a try.
Was definitely tough to see that. The Day 2 Swiss implementation at Regionals was huge, but not enough on its own to fix the issues. Amazing sign of good faith to see the changes this season and I hope you’ll compete!
i think my biggest issue with the changes is that it makes it harder for people who aren't as financially able to travel as much.
That is an incredibly valid feedback point to the CP bar change. I think the hope is that with local events, including midseason CP payouts, and the opportunity to earn an invite by winning a regional that helps make up a bit for the cost. But, you’re right, those local opportunities still aren’t equally accessible for everyone
When is Pokemon Sleep getting added to Worlds :D
Hopefully soon. I’m about to be World Champion
Now THAT is the important questions 😊
Note: none of this applies to Japan or South Korea 😭
One day our time will come
I found you from beast coast Pokémon. You and the boys make great content!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support!
thanks for the updates. looking forward to see you on stream..
Intriguing changes indeed. They don't do that much for me, I don't think, since there's not really many local VG events in Minnesota, but hey, if I didn't already have something to aim for during Regionals, I sure do now! lol
Hope they bring more local events now that organizers have more time to plan things out ahead of the 2024 circuit
@@Nekkra Same! It's either that or try my hand at TCG and, well, card games make me nervous. 😓
the day 1 skip being gone looks like a good thing to me,,
it means players from less represented regions dont have to stress about travelling to multiple different countries just for a chance at gathering enough points for day 2, right..?
They need to change how CP points are distributed at events.
You could get second place at 3 700+ competitor regions and that wouldn't be enough for Worlds. That's ridiculous.
Another issue is giving out CP based on ranking instead of record for non-top cut players. One player with a 6-3 record can receive 50 CP, while another 6-3 player gets 0. That's ridiculous. Why can't all 6-3 players receive the same number of points?
I understand using resistance for getting to top 8 because you don't have enough time for plenty of tie breaker games. However, I don't see why resistance should come into account when distributing CP.
Mathematically, the kickers being lowered should help alleviate the issue you're referencing with one player at 6-3 getting points and several others not, based on resistance. It's still not perfect, and that's why I'd also love to see CP rewarded based on a strict W-L record so hopefully that's something we get to see in the future too. Already some nice steps in the right direction
i'm curious has a "day 1" player ever won worlds ?
I just hope Orlando gets a pop up Pokemon Center! That would be my main reason to go!
Pop-ups coming to Regionals would be huge!
Wait if I’m in Asia and want to earn CP - I can’t? I have to travel outside my continent?
CP bars and worlds invites based on those actually don’t apply to how you’d qualify if you’re a resident of an Asian country. They tend to have one separate tournament for their qualification and invites, but that remains to be seen if they change it next season
@@Nekkraoh okay thanks for answering. Love the pink hair btw 🩷
Thanks for the info 📝
I’ll keep trying to deliver more :)
good video, my friend.
I’m trying to run a vgc at my league. Any advice to start it? Or things I need
Check out the Professor Program! You need to be a certified Professor before you can offer CP as an organizer: www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/organize/become-a-professor/
@@Nekkra okay I’m already a certified professor, is their anything else I need?
@@MazterP28 I'm sorry, I'm not too sure about that. I wish I had better resources to point you to for that but I am not a certified professor
@@Nekkramaybe you could visit our little store in Massachusetts and put us on the board. Or get us some cool
Swag? Lol I’d love a star like you
