I havent had regular Michelob in many years since it came in those classy hobbleskirt bottles. They just recently started selling Michelob Light again where i live. The only way for me to buy Michelob Lager is to order it from N.J. minimum purchase is 5 six packs plus $75 shipping.
I see the aforementioned cellular tower. No, G5 towers are short and close together. That need to be very close together and there is thus no use for height at all.
I just got off the phone with Anheuser-Busch and they’ve confirmed as of March 2023 they’ve ceased all production on regular Michelob Lager. If you see cases still buy them because it’s sadly over :(
id like to taste the same recipe beer with Coors yeast, and miller yeast. something about anheuser house yeast that makes the beer taste harsh and bland, IMO. To me, it's prevalent in every AB product i try, sans Stella. I notice it in the St Pauli, even. The lower ABV beers at least in my experience, have tasted better so maybe the more sugars that their are to convert, the harsher the end result? Wonder what your thoughts are on the yeast's impact on the final product, in particular with the BMC products. Coors' being the more fruit/apple/grape skin flavor profile. Suppose though, that Coors products in my area, being made in Golden, CO; are predominately produced with much softer water than Miller/Bud so that helps tremendously with this style.
michelob is so under rated, no rice or corn added, i remember that decades ago michelob went down like water with no bite at all, david was right about the old michelob from years ago but remind him you both reviewed this 4 years ago
I do miss the old Michelob, no doubt about it. It being a better , amped up style of Budweiser. Miss those classic bottles too. But for me this newer version is a good, hardy lager with a full, rich taste that stands up to winter. (Here in Illinois - where we just got through an early November cold snap that blew away all the climate change nonsense. 20s and low 30s and snow) I definitely get a bit of honey too, it reminds me a bit of JW Dundee's Honey Brown with a lighter flavor profile. Hops and malt are mellow and well balanced, really enjoyable stuff. And for a 9.99 12pk maybe the best beer buy out there.
Glad you were able to find it. I remembered at one time you said it was really hard to find in your area. We get it in 18-pack cans but it is getting more scarce.
Working on the Michelob 12 pack I grabbed a handful of days ago, a fine beer obviously. But to show how little regard AB/InBev has for this brand now, as if no advertising whatsoever for last 20 years wasn't enough .... they even pulled the plug on the Michelob Lager/ "Brewing Company" website. They used to have a website, even videos available with the brewmaster talking about how they "crafting a better beer", sections talking about the malts, hops, brewing process, etc. For what is one of their legacy brands with LOTS of history, possibly the best product they make & for a company that basically prints $$$ .... to pull the plug on the Michelob website while having sites for low tier "junk" like Rolling Rock and Busch Light ... come on, BAD JOB!
Oh, this is a great beer. One of my favorites. On the honey comment - the only time I've ever really tasted honey in a beer that didn't actually have honey or honey flavoring in it, was with Magnum. To me, it had a very distinct honey note. I enjoyed it a lot.
Your friend is right, it doesn’t taste like it used to. Though I don’t think this is the same product since they call this “Michelob Lager” now. Might be a swap, like New Coke was.

At that cost, it's certainly not worth buying. Thanks for watching, JxT. I appreciate it!
SUPER AMAZING
YES! THANKS FOR WATCHING, NICOLE NEW. I APPRECIATE IT!
Thanks guys and girl for the taste challenge.
You're welcome!
This is actually a fine beer. I pick it up whenever I can find it.
It sure is fine. Thanks for watching, Chris Bernhart. I appreciate it!
You guys are a hoot! I like your reviews.
Thanks, robert budnik. I appreciate you watching!
Wish it was available in my location
Same story, here.
I see the aforementioned cellular tower. No, G5 towers are short and close together. That need to be very close together and there is thus no use for height at all.
Well, whatever the case, I think the tower interferes with my internet connection.
Man cant believe its being discontinued 😢
I can't, either. They still show it, on the Tap Into Your Beer website.

This is terrible news!
This beer is pretty much scattered throughout the Atlanta area. Need to get this before it disappears for good. Good video guys.
Yes, get it now, or you might be sorry!
I wonder if when this came out in 1800’s if they used adjuncts
I was wondering the same thing. Yes, I can get them in Metairie, Louisiana. I ought to buy some more.
This is one of my favorites but I haven't been able to find it in over a year
It's definitely a rarity. Thanks for watching, Steven Cryar. I appreciate it!
Sad to hear about Red Dog. I've wanted to try that since I was a little kid.
It really is sad.

Yes, I think those yeast strains really do make a difference, and even those major brewers will say that they do.

Right- I remember when we reviewed it.

I wish Michelob would return to my town. Thanks for watching, @drifterman3196. I appreciate it!

It's still far from common. Thanks, Jeff.
I like Michelob. I can still find it in 6 packs of bottles, at the grocery store I work at here in Massachusetts.
I'm glad to hear that you can still get it.

Yes, I 100% agree. BAD JOB!
I miss this beer it disappeared from the NYC area about 2 years ago although we finally started getting Schlitz here 👍🏼. Cheers guys 🍻
I hope Michelob makes a NYC area return. Cheers, back to you, Dave76. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
2.6 carbs ibu 2.5
The IBUs are certainly higher than 2.5, but thanks for watching, Ed. I appreciate it!

Yeah, I miss Magnum Premium Malt Liquor.
Love this beer. " Let the god times roll"🍻
Yes!

Yes, it IS an modern, updated recipe, for sure. I'm glad you liked it.
Damn. I haven't had it in years and years. Guessing that one would definitely be tough... As if guessing about any of them wouldn't be tough...
Yeah, it really IS tough.
