CROOKEDEST STREETS IN THE WORLD: Lombard Street vs Vermont Street

I love Lombard Street ~ When my daughter got her driver's license, on her first drive, I had her drive through Marin from our place in Fairfax, on 101 over the Bridge, straight to Lombard Street for her first experience. I figured that if she could navigate all those streets, she would be a great driver, and could fearlessly drive anywhere. :-) She's 41 now and owns a limo company :-)

The Vermont St city block, located somewhere between the Potrero and Mission districts is the "ugly sister" of our charming town. And while the stunningly beautiful Lombard St is featured around the world and in perhaps thousands of films?
The only movie that I know of fer sure that featured Vermont's Crookedness is the second in the series of "Dirty Harry" known as MAGNUM FORCE.
Actor Clint Eastwood who still did plenty of his own stunts back then had put his fellow actor Hal Hollbrook into a complete panic attack during that film sequence.

Most people live outside the city where it’s more affordable and just use public transportation to commute in.

You probably need to look further, maybe within 40 minutes driving/public transit distance. Dublin / Pleasanton is a nice area with wide open spaces and plenty of new build apartments and houses.

I’ll never forget visiting my aunt in San Francisco and I had have her drive down Lombard. (I’m from Minnesota.) As soon as we got to the top of the hill before the street starts winding, I looked out into San Francisco Bay and saw a tiny island. I said to my aunt, “Aw man. I forgot Alcatraz is also in Frisco.” I’ve always wanted to tour Alcatraz and it never even crossed my mind to mention that to her. (Maybe because she lived in San Jose.)

Vermont isn't as scenic ad Lombard.
Lombard is more residential with the colorful flowers in front of the small cottage looking homes. Vermont was desolate looking with just one little home with flowers at the end of the street.
