Those photos were just mesmerizing! 7:51 was my favorite since there was no sunlight I like how the lights from the houses sheds light in a town that seems frozen in time. 👏🏼
You both have my respect as well for going to such a place at this time of the year for photography. Did Willem shoot his analog Mamiya RZ67 and if yes I would be curious to hear how that went und those conditions?
Thank you so much for watching, and the kind words - appreciate it! Willem used his RZ67 (two of them) and it's a whole another story how that went. I'm sure he will share a video about that soon enough :)
Much respect. I’ve tried to film in -10C and couldn’t give it a good enough effort 😭. I heard that cameras image stabilization was limited by the rotation of the earth, like they could have done more. I want to learn more about that. Great shots.
Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed! Never heard about that but will definitely look that up. We used a variety of cameras during the trip but this one did almost too well in the cold, hah!
Great video! Would love to visit Svalbard at some point. Having worked as a press photographer in Oslo for years, you quickly learn to dress in layers and use weather sealed gear, haha :-) And extra batteries!
That is so true! Norway teaches very quickly how to dress for the outdoors, hah! Thanks so much for watching and hope you get to visit Svalbard soon! :)
wow this was too good man. Cant wait for another trip :)))
Thanks so much Willem! Can't wait to see your film images from this trip and can't wait for the next one!!
Willem, did you shoot any film on this trip?

I wonder how the locals' circadian rhythms are affected, with the 24/7 darkness for months at a time
Was thinking the same and oddly the locals seen to prefer the dark season as the summer is just 24h light
@@joelhypponen I guess that makes sense, I know I can’t sleep well when it’s daylight
damn its 360p IM TOO EARLY
Dang! So lame with the buffer time... Appreciate you watching and hope you enjoyed it! :)
