    I agree with mono fruit and performance. I have the best hikes when I'm on fruit juices, or mono fruits, like dates. I'm talking about full day, high altitude, 40 lbs on my back hiking steep rugged hills. Fruit gives you the most energy/power because it's so easily and cleanly assimilated and used by the body.
    Using green juices, and small amount if seeds, only adds to the benefits imo. But good to see Eli proving that fruit, even from Canadian stores is still an optimal food source for our body.

    • @GillianBerry
      @GillianBerry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In case you do a second interview, I'd love to know:
    1. Where does Eli buy his fruit in Toronto?
    2. I find much organic fruit doesn't get ripe so does he eat non-organic for much of his fruit?
    3. How many times a week does he buy his fruit? (Sounds like he has a car so maybe he can buy enough in one trip.)
    4. Does he have any suggestions for fruit ripening?
    5. Any teeth or gum issues?
    6. I was surprised. It sounds like he doesn't have to eat much. Did that change over time, did he initially have to eat more?
    7. Did he encounter detox symptoms?

    Yes, I do believe (some) greens are not palatable as they are - they need to be put with fruit in a smoothie (Victoria Boutenko made greens accessible to us through smoothies).

    Goodness gracious now this interview…I didn’t know of this brother until you mentioned him; then I searched your channel to see if you had an interview with him. I must say sister…right off the back, there is something really encouraging and also re-assuring about just looking at the brother but then to hear what he is saying. Thanks for interviewing him. Funny; or strangely, he actually looks and sounds just like how I’ve envisioned myself looking and sounding like. Actually, he looks and sounds like….🤔 well…it’s like a vision of me looking at my own self; like…me in some way. Right now I look like a wolf because I let all my hair grow everywhere on my head. Lol. But when iam all shaved up and skin headed like that, it’s like that. Maybe I’m not making myself as clear as I’d like. lol. I don’t know his spiritual belief or his faith but to some degree, I can see myself in him; I’m also into boxing and martial arts. Yeah if we ever met you’d know what I mean. But what I see him in is, a me, completely successful. In my life I’m still struggling and going through battles and I haven’t really reached that place yet . So I’m envisioning myself having already reached the top of the mountain by looking at him.

    • @jtubelee
      @jtubelee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The top of the mountain meaning: getting to be consistently successful within the faith that I have together with just eating fruits and greens. Getting to where I can be where God is longing for me to get to be during this life so I can then do what He really wants me todo.

    Not boring to hear how & what you eat in a day - exactly the info I was looking for - intermittent fasting, no regimentation, mono fruits, generally; not vast, vast amounts (as some fruitarians or raw fooders seem to accomplish & which puts me off - I cannot imagine consuming vast quantities of a food at a time) - your eating intuitive - listening to your body. You make fruitarian diet seem liveable to me. & no juices or smoothies - not gallons of liquid on top of the food. Thanks!

I could splurge and do a tropical fruit salad in summer with the most amazing exotic tropical dragon fruit - fresh coconut - durian - mangoes - bananas of course - with sprinkled coconut water.
    Or how bout a melon salad with every type of melon I can get locally.

    Good video! I would've liked him to address other potential nutritional deficiencies on the fruitarian diet, especially considering he doesn't take any supplements. Things like B12, EPA/DHA, iodine, selenium etc. I know he spoke a lot about protein but that's the least of my concerns. I'll have to go scour his channel for more info 😊

    • @GillianBerry
      @GillianBerry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey that's a great question!! I just did a part two with him I think we addressed supplements a little but I can't remember now.

      super important ! I take all of those.

    • @TheFreeMelonSociety
      @TheFreeMelonSociety 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      What's crackin holmes!, right okay so B12... b12 deficiency is never a function of "lack of B12".. it is always a function of sluggishness or insensitivity to the body's own production of endogenous B12. (case in point meat eaters who have b12 deficiencies just like vegans can). EPA/DHA: Literally impossible not to have perfect omega ratios eating only fruit. Fruit is designed to have just the right amount of fat you need, with perfect ratios. Iodine Selenium.. Most fruits have all the minerals required, just not in the huge concentrations we're told are necessary. I just shot an updated "what i ate today" video (not up yet), and plugged in my values. with a diet of 3 types of fruit for the day, the mineral profile was all there, (again, just not in the high concentrations we're misled to believe is necessary). And now of course, tying this in to the more obvious. We are clearly not intended to have to worry about dietary elements that are outside of our perceptual range. Mother nature has created a system whereby the microscopic world is her exclusive domain. The organism's job is not to worry about things they would have absolutely no clue exist. your job is to recognize and respond to what you CAN perceive and account for, and eat those foods. Nature takes care of the rest. Also. All these elements you mentioned represent a fraction of the nutrient profile that exists. most elements are unknown to science. The elements we do recognize are all given lots of play in literature why?.. because supplements have been manufactured for them,. . thus, our nutritional worries are largely a product of... marketing.

    • @Lieutenant-Dan
      @Lieutenant-Dan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheFreeMelonSociety wow thank you! I've always had a sneaking suspicion a lot of the "recommended daily allowance" was bs and marketing to make a profit off supplements because it seems so arduous to get everything you "need."

    spinach, parsley, cilantro are all totally enjoyable on their own for me

    • @TheFreeMelonSociety
      @TheFreeMelonSociety 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Most people who enjoy these things will say something to this effect yes. of course when tasked with making a meal of JUST cilantro, or JUST parsley (as seems to be the case throughout the natural world), or JUST any culinary flavor enhancer,....it is at that point generally when the realization i refer to kicks in. A grazing herbivore, can dine on grass all day every day and be perfectly content. If we were to attempt this with the purported enjoyable food (cilantro), we would be hit inevitably with the reality of cilantro's insuitability as a prime element of diet. Taking the same example from the fruit world, one could take JUST grapes for many weeks, and be in radiant health, with great satiation. A Mono-cilantro eater would take no such satisfaction from each meal, and not do nearly as well. Even though we might say "i like the taste of cilantro".. it's almost a sure fire guarantee that not once in the lifetime has that very person ever come home from a long day of work, famished and hungry, and eagerly loaded up a mixing bowl full of plain straight cilantro. A curious thing. On the other hand, you could definitely do this with plain straight (insert fruit of choice). Lastly, i think we would be lying to ourselves if we were forced to choose between a meal of mono cilantro, and a meal of mono (Any fruit). As humans, your taste buds will inevitably prefer the taste of a food that is more calorie concentrated. We barely have a choice in that matter, that's how the taste senses work. It's why obesity is problem. ----- NOTE ** None of this is being said to dissuade the use of cilantro, or parsley or spinach.. Pleeeeease please please don't mistake my intention. I've written this here not to discourage the use of healthy plants in the diet. I've written this so that we reconnect with what our senses AAActually reveal about the food we eat, and so that we are not under any delusions about what exactly we are. Does that make sense? I've added parsley and cilantro to maany many dishes before, and have no problem recommending them to anyone wanting to get healthy. These are very nutritious elements of the diet and well get you well. They make perfect flavor enhancers for sauces, salads and soups. What i have definitely Never done, nor ever will do, is Make a meal of a massive bowl of plain parsley. (nor will anyone else likely) All i'm doing is framing the concept so that we have a better idea of who and what we are with no cultural misconceptions. God bless my friend! enjoy!

      They are very dry. All dis-eases are caused from toxicity and dehydration.
      They actually have toxins, as all herbs and vegetables have. Water rich lettuces have the least toxic effects, which is why some fruitarians make that exception.
