    Glad to see you traveling again I enjoy your videos you do a really nice job. I was wondering how you got your vehicle out of Iran and was all the damage to the vehicle done by the Iranians.

      Thanks, it was trucked, and yes mostly - some was caused by climatic changes.

    Man, I am so lucky. Two episodes this week. I see so many Trophies up here in PNG. I was tonight actually explaining to my colleague why they make such good overlanding vehicle. It is so awesome to have you back. Yes, Armenia does look a lot like Russia. Hope you make it across the border. Keep safe. I went back to Nestle as we came home due to Covid. I have relocated with them to PNG. Mark is at home in Auckland. Keep them coming. Love to you both, Ro

    I Always read your comments about the video first . Love how you do them . So great to have you both back traveling and sharing your memories with us all your overlanding friends . Plus’s thanks for another great video. Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A.

      Cheers Steve, glad you enjoy the descriptions. We might expand them one day and put them together. It would be a good opportunity to tell some stories that didn’t make the episodes!

    Hey Legends it's so great to see you back on the road again! Just an FYI, you don't need to unlock your hubs. I have left mine locked for over 75,000 km's, and just shift in and out of 4wd as needed. No extra wear and here on my 8th lap of Australia it makes it easier to make a turn onto a goat track, throw it into 4wd and then take it out when I hit bitumen again. Easy peasy :)

      Have wondered if someone’s locked them for that long. Good to hear some first hand experience!

      Would love to explore your country one day when it’s safe, if the landscape and people we met along the Wakhan are anything like the rest of the country it would be incredible.

    Great to have you back on the road. What are you studying at Uni? Armenia and Georgia are beautiful countries. Hope you have good luck with the Georgian border. I remember when we went in we had to leave an incentive in the passport pages! Out of the blue, after they stamped the passports they handed us a bottle of wine each bottled by the Georgian Government - a 2012 Saperavi dry red wine as a gift. Hilarious!

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha! An ‘inventive’, love it. We thought we were past all that countries ago! Sounds like it worked well for you with an nice bottle of red.
      Studying architecture, nearly done 🙂

    What make/model is the satnav I can see on your dash?

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a base level Garmin which we’ve had for about 10 yrs. We use open source mapping so the platform wasn’t overly important as long as it had the capability to receive the maps.

    Inasmuch as the Armenians are nice and totally open and approachable, Georgians, in my experience, are conceited and way too full of themselves!! I generalize but totally based on personal experience in Armenia and Georgia! Good luck!!

    Well this seems to be a typical european thing. It's not what you are able to do or willing to do or maybe what you have done before. It's all about if you have the right paperwork or permisson.... What do these guys think how you made it with an australian car and number plate to this border ?
    Wish you guys good luck for your ongoing journey. Pretty cool that you are continuing this trip and still follow your dream after all the things that happend to you

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha yep, we tried that argument though they were adamant all countries receive this ‘car passport’ and we simply didn’t have it. As much as they were stubborn and unwilling to adapt they were very nice and made us feel somewhat comfortable over the 8 hours we were there. That was the biggest crossing, the smaller ones are less busy and usually more personable.

    I really enjoy your videos, I've followed your whole journey so far. I have only one complaint (and I offer this comment because I believe it will make your videos even better); I think Jolie spends too much time with the camera pointed at herself. You probably remember Cath and Kim TV series from back home. Jolie comes over a bit like Cath - "Loook at mee, loook at mee!" You produce a travel channel, so Jolie can voice over the passing scenery rather than hog the camera. Just a thought, try it! Keep up the great work and stay safe. Peter

    was crossing the Turkish -Georgian border. I knew that we (Australians) were allowed 360 days without a visa. I remember the Georgian customs officer's face when i handed my passport. It took him 1.30 hours to process my entry (btw i was crossing the border on foot). He told me that i was probably the first Aussie to walk through the border🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1.5hrs by foot! Crazy! Would’ve thought that was the easiest/quickest way to cross.
