Hey Dom! One thing that I love so much about your videos (and studio space) is your lighting. I was dissappointed that you didnt cover this as I was hoping to find out which flood lights you use to light up your walls with color! A pair of 15W perhaps? A link in the description would be great if you can!

MONTAGE 6 AND 8.....DOM You need help love.....oh my days! I’m nearly having a heart attack watching this veeeedio! BTW, some of that music in the background is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE 😍
I'm new to the channel, didn't expect it to be so good. You're the real deal man, and I'm not talking about gear. Really inspired by your space. I'll keep coming back for sure. Let's collab when I'm in London. Stay safe Dom ✌️

That retro keyboard is so sexy, but such JUNK! I bought one, the command key was broken on the left side and they wouldn't do anything to fix it or let me return it, stuck with it. It also has trouble connecting so I'm sitting there for 5 minutes doing everything I can to get it to connect. The battery life is also crap. I would not buy that keyboard if someone is considering it, also noticed you don't use it anymore either. The rest of this video though, quality! Love the studio tour setups and am grateful for shining light on that monitor light bar!
Thanks Dom,great overview..if I get to live another 50 years or so I might get my head round about 10% of this stuff ..😯.take care now in these strange times
Nice focused studio. I would personally love to see a review of the AXR4. I used to have several audio interfaces which no longer work and my MODX 6 is my sole audio interface. I was blown away by how good it sounds compared to my previous ones which costed almost the same as the MODX. So because of this I'm looking at expanding my inputs with some steinberg/yamaha rack units.
I am drooling looking at your Adam S2V's. I know how super awesome they sound, as I owned the Adam A7X's for less than a week and they sounded soooooo awesome, especially to make grand pianos from my Yamaha Montage 8 sound authentic & realistic even at full grand piano volume, whereby they handled the mid frequencies & all the frequencies for that matter, so perfectly with the most crystal clear highs. Unfortunately they had an odd fatal 'flaw', although Adam Support would not call it a flaw and referred to it as a 'design characteristic'. The fatal flaw was that when playing pianos at full grand piano volume to emulate the sound as true and realistic as possible, a lot of the softer played notes in the mid to low areas caused the woofers to rumble & distort, almost like a strange static sound. Adam confirmed this and said that their S series speakers do not have this 'design characteristic'. Hence, I continue to drool knowing how much even more awesome the S series sounds compared to the A series, and aside from the 1 flaw, the A series blew me away...and since the S series is double the price of the A series (& I had already broke the bank doubling my budget on those speakers), and could not afford them nor justify saving for several more years to get them. I hoping someone who has money takes pity and drops off a pair of S2V's at my house 😄 Interestingly enough I see you have the Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. After returning the Adams, I decided to get really good headphones instead, and after a lot of research whereby a lot of reviews kept going back to the HD 600's and comparing many of the top, most expensive headphones to them, I checked further and they were perfect for pianos and for mixing, since their frequency response is quite flat.
Can you follow this up with a Workflow Video? For instance, do you Mix Hybrid, and if so, what's your signal flow? What order do you process in? I also run Console 1, do you run it on every track, and which Strips do you use, and as first plugin or some other chain? AND Thank You for all these videos! Great video, Dom! Montage 6, OB-6 and Subsequent 37 in my workspace too. Thanks for sharing, especially your desk, controllers and converters. Great recommendation of the work lighting that doesn't add glare to your screen. I'd love to get a Neve too, but not on my budget. I'm still using an Apogee Duet.

Great vid Dom! When you share the LoopDeck CT video, can you also include the Stream Deck XL to show whether we should use both together or one over the other? Also, can you do a more in-depth tutorial on how you use the Elektron Digitakt?
In the past Windows had issues with multiple drivers. Right now I have the AXR drivers installed along with the UFX drivers and everything runs smoothly. THe Hilo isn't connected at all, runs standalone.
Dom, YOu are amazing, oNe of the best for Cubase. i always watch and respect your videos. i am not going to rattle off my credentials and crap but let me say this. For real time processing which we know is what audio workstation do. The RYZEN 9 or 7 will surprise you and to end this. Win you over. Not a good place to talk reasons nut check it out.
Dom, pls provide the specs for your scan pc. Looking to build my own w/s to replace an aging imac27 i7. I run Cubase, a Machine Studio with Komplete Ultimate and my Kronos 88. The cpu on the iMac is too old to run Massive X and it’s too slow.. still running spinning disks. Pls post when you can.. Also interested in how you integrate Machine into your Cubase workflow, especially Groove Agent. I really enjoy your videos.
Great video! I've been following your channel for a while, and you really know your stuff! You earned a new subscriber today! Couple of things came up in my mind: 1) do you have a subwoofer when mixing or are the Adams enough to make you confident with the low bass content? Some people say use a sub, but a lot of people say don't use one as it could make your mix worse? 2) do you have any plans for some kind of touchscreen controller for Cubase shortcuts, like Lemur, Touch OSC, or something similar? Thanks and keep up the great work!
I’d love to see all the cabling behind it all!! What I really want to know is how the hell does this guy find time to learn all these different pieces of kit in addition to running his amazing TH-cam channel, video editing, film music, mastering and also actually doing his job with his clients? It also sounds like he has a family and life!!???? How on earth does he find the time to do all this? It’s taking me years just to learn Cubase!!!!
I discovered you on the yamaha montage. You're one of the people who decided to buy me one and I fell in love at first sight. I had the bad habit of buying too many synthesizers. The montage made quite a lot of space in my studio. Big shoud out for that ! As someone who left the computer world a few years ago, I was wondering why this studio doesn't have modular synth ? Did you try it ? Now I understand that you can't tame everything either. With so much material and knowledge to store, I guess you still have to make music !
Thank you Mathias! I will answer your question : I would LOVE to have a modular system in my studio. There are two reasons why I haven't got one (yet): 1. I am very prone to getting excited about gear and a modular synth is a never ending adventure. I know I would spend hundreds of bucks every month to get a new module :P 2. It is not necessary to my workflow to be honest. I like to get stuff that are going to make their money's worth very soon. The Montage has paid for itself many times over, same with the OB6 and Sub37 as well as the other pieces I have (well, maybe not the OP-1 yet!). So a modular would be a self indulgent project, which I might take on in the future. :)
Hi Dom, congratulations on your videos, I have been a subscriber to your channel for a while and I find your videos very interesting. I wanted to ask you a question, I have to get my new sound card and I'm really torn. The options are: Behringer UMC404HD Focusrite 8i6 3rd Gen M-audio Air 192/14 Motu M4 SSL 2+ Audient EVO 8 Audient iD 14 MKII What interests me above all is of course the stability, the latency, the quality of the pre and the converters and lastly the after-sales assistance. I forgot .... everything runs on Mac mini servers with mojave. Thanks in advance.
Hi Dom, since you have an i9, are you experiencing any Cubase bugs such as resizing issues with Kontakt and other 3rd party plug-ins (WAVES, Gullfoss, Kush Audio...)? If so, what are some of the ways that you're working around it?
Hi Kerwin, yes, Kontakt has resizing issues. And some other plugins too unfortunately. I am sure developers will get up to speed but for now what I do is I switch off HiDPI and resize in Windows to work on my 4K monitors. But I can’t wait for these issues to be fixed :)
@@DomSigalas Hi Dom, yes indeed. I was fortunate on yesterday to receive assistance from Greg Ondo on this matter. By adjusting the screen resolution on my computer, I was able to solve the problems. For me, my laptop is 4K, but my monitors aren't. The only lingering issue I've got now is that the Score Editor crashes upon upon note input.
Hi Dom, can you do a video explaining how to import an external synth & it's sound banks into the MIDI Device Manager - even when the synthesizer is not listed? Specifically, I have an Access Virus C (only Virus A and B are listed), and I am considering buying a System 8. Thanks.
Fooking hell there must be half a million quid’s worth of gear in dom’s studio!!!! Every single piece of gear in it is sooooooo expensive. I’m not even jealous and would rather have the very, very basic set up that I have because.... I simply would not have the time to learn how to use it all. The guy is obviously incredibly good at what he does and I think his studio and lighting looks absolutely beautiful and impeccable, but how in the hell does he find time for it all? Sorry I know I’m like a broken record but I just cannot get my head around how he does all this? The guy is an absolute genius!!! Dom, if u ever fall out with your wife......😊
Hi Dom, love your channel man, and I'm excited for this!! Could you also show us the stands you are using for your Keyboards, and what are the brands? That looks like a K&M 18953 or 18950. Do you prefer that over the 18810? I'm planning to purchase the 18810 on Thomann for my Montage 8 in my home studio, but I can't decide between that, the 18953,18950. Or even the STAY Tower stand. Any input could help :8)
Thank you man! I use a Proel stand- very similar to the K&M. I don't like X style stands they are never solid enough for what I do. I would like something more robust than the Proel but this has served me well for many many years and it's still going so no complaints ;)
Hi Dom, love your videos. Please help me: I can't decide what to buy for my new studio monitors speakers, the Adam S2V or the Neumann KH310. What would you recommend? Greetings Armin
Hi Dom! Excellent walkthru of your studio! I’m keen to know about the wooden case for your TC Electronic delay/reverb stuff, where do I get that from? Thanks mate!
17:21 It's okay you cay say Roland :) I have the FC-06 and the MODX 76 and even though they are similar in price, the MODX is so much better in every way, especially the keybed. The FC doesn't even have full sized keys and it's a 61 key!!!!! Roland's action on the System 8 also leaves much to be desired. Yamaha on the other hand consistently has the best keybeds. DX7, EX5, Montage, MODX, just terrific synth actions.
Hi Dom...Enjoying your vid's. Quick question. How do the converters on the Sternberg 816C stand up against the RME Fireface UFX? It seems difficult to find reviews on the Steinberg?
Well, the UR816C has newer generation converters that can also do 32bit integer recording. But there are two things to consider: the UFX is a very old interface and the price range is very different- the UFX is supposed to be on the £1500 range where the 816C is one third of the price ;)
@@DomSigalas Thanks for that. I have always used RME in the past and the quality is good and stability has been rock solid with low latency. I don't direct monitor so latency is important, but as you say the Steinberg converters are more up to date and 32 bit. It's difficult to find a review of the 816C that goes into detail on the quality and latency though.
Hi Dom, thanks for the video. Is there a way to control Cubase remotely? I'd like to record from another room, since the gear room isn't very quiet. Nothing special, just launch the record, or start and stop, basic things. There was an app once, but I'm not sure that this app is still around. Of course I could get a 20m USB cable and work with my CC121, but I'm not sure these cables exist in that length... Thanks
As always your video is very informative, but why did you choose portico over 1073 is my main question, i would like like to hear and see it in action and so many of us in the comments , preamp is a great factor in every studio
You know... I owned a Portico 5012 and never really got the whole "silk" thing... just never really noticed much difference or benefit. Thought it was a gimmick. Maybe mine was faulty. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on that circuit and what you've used it on. Thanks for all you do!
Maybe I have a tin ear but a lot of this outboard gear, I dunno. Maybe there's magic in some of it. Maybe not? Maybe if I wanna destroy my audio a bit and add some color I can just record some bus noise samples, and mix that into my mix.
For synthesizer action, I haven't felt a better keybed than the OB-6. I've been fortunate enough to try out a Montage 8 at my local music store, but they didnt't have a 7 or 6. How would you compare the action on the OB-6 keybed versus the action of the Montage 7 or 6? I already have a Yamaha Reface CS (unweighted mini keys) and an Arturia Keylab 88 (weighted) so I'm looking for the best semi-weighted keybed. Your videos are why I'm considering a Montage! It is so deep yet easy to use.
Beautiful studio Dom, thank you for the tour. Question, what do you do for particle (dust) control? I find myself covering everything when not in use but, that can be quite a task in a studio such as yours. I've considered ion or clean room filtration system but, havent decided yet. Just like to keep the dust off of things.
That was a great studio tour! Thanks Dom for showing us your music equipment magical world!

Great vid Dom! When you share the LoopDeck CT video, can you also include the Stream Deck XL to show whether we should use both together or one over the other? Also, can you do a more in-depth tutorial on how you use the Elektron Digitakt?
I have no clue who you are, but nice setup. Thank you for the tour.
Nice studio! would love to see how you connect few interfaces from different brand and how you setup them in pc/cubase without any driver conflicts.
The RYZEN 9 or 7 will
surprise you and to end this. Win you over. Not a good place to talk reasons nut check it out.
Have you done a video about adat expanders? I'm about to take a dive into an 8+ XLR input audio interface, one that also has adat expansion.
I will do a dedicated video :) In the meantime, it's an i9 CPU with 64gb RAM all SSD's and a 1050ti NVidia GPU :)
Great video! I've been following your channel for a while, and you really know your stuff! You earned a new subscriber today! Couple of things came up in my mind:
1) do you have a subwoofer when mixing or are the Adams enough to make you confident with the low bass content?
Hahaha I just started really young! And I barely sleep hahahaha
@@DomSigalas thanks for the reply! That’s another thing you find the time to do!! Replies!! Dom you are amazing 🤩
The options are:
Behringer UMC404HD
Focusrite 8i6 3rd Gen
M-audio Air 192/14
Motu M4
SSL 2+
Audient EVO 8
Audient iD 14 MKII
What interests me above all is of course the stability, the latency, the quality of the pre and the converters and lastly the after-sales assistance.
I forgot .... everything runs on Mac mini servers with mojave.
Thanks in advance.
Nice Video Dom, super space! Could you be as kind as to explain how you integrate maschine with cubase most efficient workflow? Thanks a lot
Amazing
Thanks man!
That's awesome Dom! I'll check Proel out. Thanks for replying Dom. Looking forward for the premiere. Cheers! :8)
nice setup, I would replace the pc with a Mac Pro 7.1 and monitors with Focal twin 6 BE on separate stands
Hey Dom ! Thanks for the video. Where did you get the rack for the TC Reverb and Delay? Thanks !
Hi Dom! Thanks for this tour. Maybe you could tell us about your experience with Cubase on your 4k monitor.
Works great! Try and use a decent GPU though it makes a difference with the fluidity of the meters ;)
@@DomSigalas Thanks🙏
@@DomSigalas Hi Dom! Sorry, forgot this: Which text scale do you use in the WIndows 10 configuration? 125 or 150 %? Thanks again!
Hi Dom, love your videos. Please help me: I can't decide what to buy for my new studio monitors speakers, the Adam S2V or the Neumann KH310. What would you recommend? Greetings Armin
Very nice...
Hi Dom! Excellent walkthru of your studio! I’m keen to know about the wooden case for your TC Electronic delay/reverb stuff, where do I get that from? Thanks mate!
Got it from here Kenneth :www.mixingtable.com/ :)
Thanks Dom, really appreciate that! 👍🏻
Very nice setup. Mine is almost an opposite setup (I run vst synths and everything else analog outside the box)
do you think you could share your mixer settings like for example the colour scheme and the fader colouring changing after passing minus 12 etc ?
Hey Dom, what's your favorite mic boom stand connected to desk?
Thanks
You should do a video on your Lynx Hilo setup!
As always your video is very informative, but why did you choose portico over 1073 is my main question, i would like like to hear and see it in action and so many of us in the comments , preamp is a great factor in every studio
Greeting from Pakistan bro really like the tour stay blessed
yea would like to hear A/B on the Black Box on DRUMS/BASS/VOCALS
I'm gonna do that video :)
