i bought all 3 of their last 4 albums yet the 3rd lp SOULFUL TAPESTRY was the BEST OF ALL + best lp by a girl-group for 1972 (my opinion) rip Miss Edna Wright.....Miss Betty Wright....Miss Anita Pointer :( DM
RIP Edna Wright, grew up listening to these ladies, " Want Ads" was their biggest hit I think, they were on the cover of "Jet Magazine" they were 70s cool , too bad by the mid to late 70s the group had played out, Carolyn went on to have a somewhat success full career as a session singer and sang on Seals and Crofts hit " Closer " which I thought she never got proper credit for and Shelley was a dancer who married Verdine White of Earth, Wind and Fire, so sad this era of music has come and gone, a blessed witness...
Carolyn Willis had an amazing tone and voice. Reminds me of Mary Wilson meets Louvain Demps (session singer for Motown). Her voice is what makes The Honey Cone sound, IMHO. 😇 It reminds me of the sizzle a piece of breakfast ham frying in a pan. Might not be the compliment she was expecting.
Shelly Clark favors Patty Drew on “World needs Now” with that hairstyle. Beautiful girl, talented and effervescent personality . The group had such a precise sound.
Clydie King filling in for one of the members on the flat version of "California Dreaming" with Mama Cass. R.I.P. 🎤 That whole medley was unusually dreary due to that bland arrangement.
A CLASS ACT !
They are legends help pave the way soul music 🎵🎶 music you can feel it then 🎉

One of my favorite female groups of all-time!
Classic 70's Soul Music . We were broke but I still gathered the money to buy the 45 ( 2 - 45's for a Dollar )
OMG... I can even remember when they were 35 cents each. Nowadays I feel like such an antique animal 😂 . But its cool 😎.
Honey Comb singing live with big Mama Cassie... what a wonderful time the seventies were. 😮❤
70's The Honey Cones 2023 hot track!
Grew up learning how to live single and get what I wanted thru my prayers 🙏. Hallelujah
Shelley Clark-White is one of the most beautiful women in music history

Loved her vocals on Seals and Crofts "Get Closer".
Great analogy (Wilson and Ms Louvain).
Thank you for posting this!
My pleasure!
I loved to do the breakdown

My mom said one of these ladies is the sister of Darlene Love (from those Christmas songs)
Yes, lead singer, Edna Wright is Darlene's younger sister.
Yes LEAD SINGER For the HONEY CONE was the Late EDNA WRIGHT,Darlene Love's younger Sister. DM
Genius full tilt boogie soul women diva yASS STYLE BRAVA RIP EDNA AMEN
The biggest threat to the seventies Supremes also produced by the sixties producers.
I’d always felt HDH modeled Honey Comb as younger, sexier version of The Blossoms.
