I like how Waterloo Road portrayed this relationship and how the student was male and the teacher was female. stereotypically it's the other way round with the man being the teacher

For everyone wondering WHY she was arrested,when the UK’s legal age of consent is 16.The fact that she was over 18 and he,whilst over the age of consent but under 18,WASN’T the problem.The problem was that she was a teacher at the school,therefore in a position of trust;and he was a student who went to the school,therefore in her care (even if she wasn’t teaching his class,he’d still be in her care).
The law states that a person in position of trust cannot have a personal relationship with someone in their care (I think even them sharing personal numbers is illegal).I don’t know about if they were at 2 different schools (therefore I don’t think he’d be in her care).
It's pretty hypocritical how Jonah was angry about Jess and Chris, yet he started a relationship with Cesca.
Karen acted so beautifully in this! as per usual! it takes an amazing woman (and Lucien) to make something that is so obviously wrong be unbelievably beautiful

@@coolchrisb age of consent is 16, that bit's true. However the law states that teachers and employers cannot have sexual relationships with their students and employees under the age of 19. This is because the relationship seems manipulative in the eyes of the law.
If she wasn't his teacher, it wouldn't be illegal, but she is his teacher so it's illegal.

Sofie Gell she got arrested because she was his teacher and in a position of power. He was over 16 which is the legal age of consent in the UK so it wasn't because of his age but because Cesca was his teacher.
