    You can never have too many connectors. The word you were looking for was "ribbon " for the cable. I won't say rainbow as the colours are the resistor colour code:)

    • @DustinWatts
      @DustinWatts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was exactly the word I was looking for. On AliExpress you can find it quicker if you type "rainbow cable" instead of "resistor colour code cable", so I stuck with that ;)

      @@DustinWatts just like most things on Aliexpress and Bandgood, slight issue's always to be found with the discriptions. :)

    Good idea to use the headers. To get rid of my weird cabling on the first prototype which connects the freetouchdeck with breadboard cables, ordered your PCBs. The headers complete the detachable setup! Thanks for sharing this!

    I'll have to order some of those 19 pin double row headers...

      I recently started stocking different sizes of female headers. They're pretty cheap and it is much nicer than cutting them. Which never goes right btw!

    Still waiting for the panels for the touch deck. Still so in love with that project. Hopefully I’ll be able to figure out how to change the pictures for the buttons

      You mean changing the logo when a button is pressed? That is feature I recently added ;)

    How are you going to connect connectors to the multiwire flat cable?

    • @DustinWatts
      @DustinWatts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not… I use separate them and use the individual wires. Or sometimes is leave a few attached to each other if I need more then one wire.

    Not enough connectors!

    I just discovered your touchdeck stuff, ordered 10 connector boards on pcbway and have my arduino all setup to build them (once the touchscreen and esp32 arrive...
    Just wondering... does the 3D printed case you have on your website also account for these pin headers?? ( ordered all of the pin headers too... :) )

    • @DustinWatts
      @DustinWatts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Geert! That is a good question. A question I didn't ask myself as the pins where kind of an after thought. They don't fit if you use the normal front (top) of the case, but I have made a version to accommodate the headers called "Top_for_TFT_with_Headers.stl". So TL;DR yes!

    Your customs label means:
    Your goods came from outside the EU, they passed THROUGH an EU State TO an other EU State without the required customs inspection in the "transit" State.
    I do however concur with regard to "Functioning" EU. Being Irish we have what you have but with "Crossroads corruption" (small local corruption that has national or international implications) with a seasoning of Brexit farce to deal with. Close to Mad-Max ambiance here!

    Hi Here in the UK we call RCA connectors PHONO connectors ( I dont know why ) -- So you could try searching for them
    rather than RCA . For example cpc.co.uk sell PHONO SOCKETS .

    • @DustinWatts
      @DustinWatts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alan! An RCA connector was originally called a phono connector because it was used to connect phonographs to old radio's. And it is still labeled that way on some preamps and you can always find one labeled "phone" on a mixer to connect a turntable.

    Hi Dustin. I don't cut up my dupont wires as they are stranded wire anyways. I use sparkfun solid core 22AWG like these www.sparkfun.com/products/8022 The downside is they aren't flexible.

    • @DustinWatts
      @DustinWatts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Solid core is nice for prototype boards indeed! I should fork up the money sometime ;)
