Man, watching these supercuts was enough to leave me with that kind of empty feeling that you get from finishing a really good RPG. Took a bit for me to get through this *monster* of a supercut, and that's coming from someone who watched your Endwalker supercut like 6 times. Props to Jill for putting the work into everything for this channel on the daily. I've avoided pretty much all spoilers for this game, aside from some out of context discussion from friends on Discord that I've pretty much forgotten, so being able to experience the same excitement alongside Woops at all the Peak moments was a blast. I just hope that whenever I get around to playing this for myself, I'll have forgotten most of this playthrough so that I can experience that sensation all over again (my poor 2060 would choke at most of these particle effects D:)
Fun fact. When woops says the third time zettaflare has been casted, the other two, believe or not, is the penultimate boss of Bravely Default, and Donald Duck. No I’m not kidding.
god, let's be real, being able say "Not Today" to motherfucking Zettaflare is just fucking nuts within the confines of Final Fantasy. like "He would burn the world!" is such an apt description of Zettaflare, that shit's a PLANET BUSTER.
@@Gunzerkingidiot Donald Fauntleroy Duck can cast a planet-busting spell by his own pantsless self. That puts him in the top 1% of Final Fantasy spellcasters. Put some respek on this duck's name, brother
@@onilink134 Didn't he die doing that? Like literally wiped a guy out and then just kicked the bucket immediately afterwards? Still mad impressive though
@thetomahawk6588 he didn't die from the spell, just passed out. We know this because Goofy said "Donald, don't!" before the cast, implying that he did this at least once before where Goofy could see it, and survived. He died to a swarm of Heartless consuming his unconscious body, then some time shenanigans happened and undid his actions and death
gotta love Woops just going "oh im still human? okay your DONE", because being able to play like a fucking DMC character is kinda just better then having the power of an Eikon at some point- hell of a watch, thoughts and prayers to Jill who I assume had to go through like, most if not all of that playthrough, hope it was worth it on yalls end lol
I love watching XVI playthroughs, since I always get to see combo skills and stuff that I had never considered before every time. I'd never thought to combine the lightning ball with gouge or will of the wykes before but I love it. God the combat in this game is SO GOOD.
@@Xenmaru00 I do not recall Clive's eyes going red when he ate the extra aether during the Titan fight. Though to be honest I may have missed it. I thought they just burned even brighter.
@@TarossBlackburn remember that Clive never gorged on a mothercrystal. He just occasionally absorbs ambient and sometimes specifically elementally aspected aether during combat, then burns through it. Titan ate a huge chunk of mothercrystal and his eyes flared red from the overload. As well, the closest to "overload" that Ifrit ever experienced was any time he Blu Maged a new skill
Final Fantasy XVI is the second game in existence, first being God of War Ragnarök, to make me go from being hyped on a level that has never been seen before, to then right after where the game makes me cry because of its wonderful story and characters. I am of course referring to the Titan and Bahamut fights. Man I love this game so much.
So since i'm definitely not the only one of Woops' fans that's a fellow FFXIV player i have to ask this question: Am i the ONLY one, when the boys kissed, that went "THE BOY AND THE DRAGON, GAY?!"
Jill and the gang deserve a raise. You guys are the best group on TH-cam. From the Comedy, to the art, and the masterful editing. One of like 3 channels that get me to drop what I'm doing to watch a video. (Shame i can't do 9 hrs in one sitting) Keep up the peek.
2:06:00 They really went and put a fucken bullet hell in the game, huh? This Naoki Yoshida should really have a chat with Yoshi P. They'd cook some real insano shit up
Part 1 was the recap I need to pick up this game again (I stopped playing just after the Titan fight when DT came out and hadn't gotten back around to it) and now this came perfectly timed right after I got decently far into the game again. I'm not too far after bahamet so I won't be finishing today, but holy moly I forgot how insane some of the fights were. What a great and goated game.
I agree that the way Jill is used in the story leaves a lot be desired. Haven't played the DLCs so idk if that changes. Woulda been cool if her and Joshua had some playable sections.
Loved watching your playthrough! Glad to have another super fan to join the club! Btw, I hope you jump back in again soon! There's something waiting- (But I'm sure you've done that by now. If not, ITS EXTREMELY WORTH IT. I dont wanna spoil, but please check the training stone... You'll scream.)
I love 16. Story definitely stumbles at the end, especially with some character arcs, like Jill for example. There's side quests that are nice moments but theyre both side quests and not crazy impactful as a whole.
I was really hoping that the ending would change if you had Leviathan, with Clive being a truly perfect vessel letting him survive channeling the spell.
yeah i really feel like things like party banter wouldve helped with some of the characters that felt a bit lacking, and made the "we need to work together to succeed" themeing they focus in on in the end hit harder. Feels weird after ffxv and ffvii remake to have your party members say basically nothing outside of a few specific moments in this game, and it doesn't help that a lot times they arent there at all. Doesnt need to be all super quirky qialogue, and it wouldnt have completely fixed Jill's character but that stuff at least in my experience can take my opinion of a character from neutral to being really endeared to them. Still enjoy the game a lot tho, it makes me sad they dont quite stick the landing at the end
Finally finished this in two sittings. :D I like that if you've done all of the side-quests and character arc stories and everything that you can fairly much give your own end spin on the ending. Most headcanon is valid... Clive and Joshua both don't make it back. Clive makes it back and writes his book and uses Joshua as his pen-name. Clive used the huge powerboost to Phoenix Ressurect Joshua and while he turns to stone Joshua washed ashore a little further on. Or they both make it out alive. Just a bummer about Clive's left hand. Personally I feel that the one where Clive does make it back to Jill but Joshua remains dead is the one that gives me the most satisfiying 'good ending' where our hero lives and his brothers' sacrifice wasn't made meaningless by a resurrection. Or... it could all just have been the kid reading his book.
I think my only real complaint was the sudden jump to 5 years later. Should've let us play through saving who's left from the old hideout and rallying to the new one at least.
I remember plenty of haters early after release. A lot of it was on account of the game not being turn based. Which, I mean, I get someone not being interested in this kind of game and being disinterested as a long time fan of the series, but a lot of what people said felt petty and disingenuous. There was also some pushback against how GoT-y the story felt and how dark the tone was. I do feel that first criticism for certain sections of the very early game, and all of the two-people-naked-in-a-room scenes. However, and this is especially true after the timeskip, it just feels like a great FF story to me. Might be my favorite. I think the tonal problem people had is the lack of goofiness. There's plenty of levity and humor, but it's grounded when compared to the humor of any other game in the series. It doesn't have those strange, off-beat side characters like other entries. I guess there was also some mental fatigue with how a lot of bad things to good people, but idk man, plenty of FF games have people/cities/entire worlds wasted. That, and I think people who want to dislike it choose not to remember all of the beautiful, heartfelt scenes.
i just wanna say. leviathan fight on final fantasy difficulty was absolutely miserable. i hit enrage on the dps check so much i got ptsd hearing the music again.
>Fights titan
“Why did they go so hard on this fight specifically?”
>Bahamut waiting in the background
I can't believe your the first streamer who's gonna get me to watch a full 9 hour video awake.
Sir, a second ff16 video has just hit the channel
Oh my god they managed to make part 2 even longer
Jill is getting even more powerful as I type this

The Empire works hard but Jill works harder. 16 hours in two weeks is insane. Thank you for all the hard work!!
Part 2 of peak just dropped and it's 9 HOURS! THE CONTENT IS DELICIOUS!
Woops and Jill never fail to deliver.
I like how the video waits until woops points out that the cutscene doesn't have ultrawide before switching aspect ratios
THE SECOND PART IS TWO HOURS LONGER!?
I've never cried so much for a video game. Eniqx know how to pull at your heart and feel for everyone in their story.
I think because Jill always hated being an icon shes wanted to be rid of it the second she got her powers
