    Thankyou Mark Queensland Fruit fly are very distractive . I netted my apricot tree though they must have already gotten to the green fruit when the apricots were tiny. Will definitely be trying this technique

    Wow this is one from the archive. Is this still you best practice to control the fruitflies?
    They are currently feasing on the leftover citrus crop, but with new fruit growing I need to do a cleanup and get them under control.

    So it catches Cucumber Fly too hey Mark. I think they're the ones that strike Zukes and soft skinned squash and pumpkins. Where in W.A. We lived in the Hills outside Perth on 10 acres with up to 50 sheep as lawn mowers in 1980's. The kept it well mowed and we got to eat lamb a lot. :) Cheers David

    Great. We'll now make these although being amateur gardeners we know we're too late but will remove all stung fruit now and hopefully save next year's citrus.

    hi mark we i have flys trap every in my house with soft drink bottes i put vegimite and yeast in mine

    Malt vinegar, best thing to attract them.

    Jast put apple cider vinegar in it😉
