Alright Brian I am about an hour South, South West of Chicago. I am thinking of getting into some stunting, been riding since 2015. I have a '88 sporty and i know that it is not practical to learn on. I might be able to swing an other bike but has to be dirt cheap. What would you recommend for learning how to do this. I have been able to bring the tire up on a little 125 dirt bike, just grabbed the gas and learned back and with the bike being so small it was easy. But would want to be able to do it on a street bike and really gain some control.
I have looked into designing a cage for my sporty (nothing on the market bolts into it) and just ripping on it. I figured tearing my bike up without any knowledge wouldn't be the best way.
I wish my gf knew how to do spreaders... she doesn't have a bike though.

My 1st spreader, I looped hard in a lot... because I didnt have a hand brake but it all seemed just right... I was wrong lmao lesson learned.

1 thing that helps jumping to spreader so much is make sure you do it at balance point or slightly dropped back! Doing it below BP can get really sketchy and also doesn't look as good

It can be done the first try my first time out with my new tank stepped to frogger and dropped to spreader first wheelie with a stunt tank I had only been stunting about 2 months if that I’m less than 6 months in now trying to learn circles now

What about gearing. Is it reasonable to learn on stock gearing (03/04 636)?
1 down on the front gear and 3 up in the rear is what I have had on mines.

Would you ever try to do stunts on an automatic motorcycle?
I've tried these just bullshittin without a handbrake nothin to balance point. I will say use your legs to hold onto the cage going up or comin down, stopping etc just to get used to your body moving with the forces of the bike. I panicked first time I got to about a foot below balance and let off the gas and it slammed me down and I almost went over the bars cause I also hit the brake 🤦♂️😂 But I guess that's part of learning
I know, its safer that way but in the world of stunting the more dangerous, the cooler loling
