In El Paso TX, I am on the board of a nonprofit that promotes empowerment through literacy. We give ALL kids that come into our bookstore 6 FREE books a month. We struggle with our budget, and seeing this is so disheartening. Putting these books into the hands of children and adults, especially those who cannot afford to buy them would have made such a difference. Feel like crying.

Kay Andrews , thank you but not close with TX being such a big state. Savers donates books they can't sell and we get some other donations. Each kid gets one free and 5 gently used books. We do grant writing and fundraising to buy the new books.
Yeah, it's completely wrong. 17 bins full of books. Many of them look expensive, still in good condition.The car book would be great for someone fixing their own car, or a newbie car mechanic.
The Bible and religious books in that one container disturbed me as did all the children's books. I don't think they should have been destroyed and so-called recycled. Somewhere is a church or social services organization that could use them as they are already printed. Sigh, I no longer get it.

I’m just being honest with her and letting her know to not give up if she receives rude, hateful comments because not everyone understands RIGHT away what’s she’s doing and the nature behind it. The My Pillows are so comfy. Got mine like 7 years ago. Still comfy. Plus you can wash them without them turning into a big ball of stuffing in just one corner. Best purchase ever!

Great Finds!!! So sad about the books, I found a mattress topper at BBB, it was in great shape, we had a really hot summer so I put it outside over my deck rails & sprayed it really good w/ some disinfectant and left out, it even rained on it a couple of times but dried so fast from the sun, I love it, my mattress was on it's last legs but now I have a perfectly new bed... Believe me I am one fussy person,if I thought it was bad it would of never come in my house.... Happy diving & please be safe...Oh, did you see the story about the lady that went into a compactor & her head & arm got stuck, she didn't survive... SO SAD Don't go near the compactors.

Kurd kutter gets the red spray paint off things, I learnt that trick from other youtubers, and I used it too when I found things from my local bed, bath and beyond. I found a brand new air mattress once with no red spray paint at all. :) so glad I found this channel!
You could honestly make a coffee table out of those wood samples. Or maybe an island? Or redo a small closet? Maybe a cool accent wall? Headboard? Many ideas!
The shoes make adorable little cactus planters. To take off some of those store things stuck to clothes, etc, get a real strong magnet and rub along the device til it lifts the nail thing

I found two of those pillows, straight from the store display according to the tag on them still. both sprayed with orange paint. You cant see that with the pillowcase on! Hope the mattress topper is nice :)

I found some clothes in the dumpster this am and I brought them to platos closet and got 20.55 and I’ll list the rest on posh. If you have a platos closet it’s good if you just want to flip items quickly. Also found a bunch of Xmas decorations yesterday they need a little tlc but really nice
Bread at Target is stocked by vendors. That is why you are able to find it in the dumpster. Target throws food they can not donate in their compactor. The Target I worked at only used dumpsters when the compactor was full.

I am in Texas too. When you bring in books to Half Price Books to sell if you don't want the books back that they won't pay you for, you do have the option if you don't want them back for them to recycle them for you. As many books as you saw I'm sure that's probably just a few days worth of books that they get in that they can't sell and the people don't want back. I do think they also donate some books to charities.

Nice haul! I’m a dumpster diver too! We all do the best we can, but sometimes we can’t take everything, no matter how sad it makes us. The books just weren’t meant to be. ❤️
You can get Purple Power Plus at most hardware stores or a product called Awesome at the dollar store to get the spray paint out. I’ve seen other divers use these products to get the spray paint out of cloth products as well as plastics.

I love your videos but sometimes I cringe at the thought of you putting cans of like the drinks you got from cvs right to your mouth when they have been in the dumpster or with those kit kats - people will open the candy and have whatever was in that dumpster on their hands and then touch the candy to put it in their mouths - maybe it’s just me 🤷🏼♀️

DO NOT USE GOO GONE on plastic or stainless steel. Use baby oil on a wash cloth to remove adhesive.

The sensor tags.. You can take off with a fairly good magnet.. You put it on it and kinda slide it over the knobby part and it unlocks it..

They looked awfully big for a napkin. My first thought was a pillow sham but no opening. Maybe a table cloth for an end table?

Combs and brushes you can put thru the dish washer. I do that with our personal brushes and combs.
You could boil the combs ,and give to a homeless shelter

Krud Kutter will take paint off of fabric. Steve and Steph in CA are Dumpster Divers and use it on all kinds of things, even fabric.
When you find broken candles remove glass and cute up to make melt aways
You can also put them in a cup or mug and use them.
Put them in freezer and candles pop right out

You can get Purple Power Plus at most hardware stores or a product called Awesome at the dollar store to get the spray paint out. I’ve seen other divers use these products to get the spray paint out of cloth products as well as plastics.

Can you make a video of how you go about cleaning and disinfecting stuff? I love your videos but sometimes I cringe at the thought of you putting cans of like the drinks you got from cvs right to your mouth when they have been in the dumpster or with those kit kats - people will open the candy and have whatever was in that dumpster on their hands and then touch the candy to put it in their mouths - maybe it’s just me 🤷🏼♀️
I have one of the my pillows the are comfortable new to the Chanel I would never dive but love watching you go out and dive and it's been amazing to see how much stuff people throug away
I think the no trespassing means All of the cans. You will be breaking the no trespassing laws if you do.
