Hello sir, I came across your video and I couldn't be more delighted to find a Moroccan researcher with a rigorous background dedicating some of their time to help students in their academic endeavors. I have listened carefully to your observations and suggestions regarding a number of issues you said you have noticed students are going through during their research journey.
I stopped the video to write this comment the moment you mentioned that writing summaries of articles and stacking them up is not doing research, it's a summary activity. That being said, it resonated with a familiar experience.
As a Master's student, the academic demands are undoubtedly rigorous, with an array of presentations, summaries, readings, and projects constituting a significant part of our workload, that's what most Master students do in Moroccan universities generally speaking.
What has been notably absent, though, are courses dedicated to research-related topics. The only instance where for example I've had some exposure to research related module was through some workshops organized by a doctoral student, and that itself can speak a lot. It feels like there's a substantial gap in our academic curriculum.
What stroke me the most was that the program aspires to mold future researchers while allocating zero percent of its structure to formal research education, and this issue is pertinent to a number of universities in Morocco.
Understanding the intricacies of research is fundamental for any aspiring scholar. Without a comprehensive foundation in research methodologies, the potential of creating original and meaningful contributions becomes challenging. I believe the inclusion of dedicated research modules in our curriculum would significantly enhance our capacity to engage in scholarly pursuits effectively.
This is my comment in relation to what you have said, and I hope for Moroccan universities to refresh, or 're-actualisé' themselves and to compare their expectations with the reality of what the programs they endorse are limited to produce.
Thank you for making this video and for shedding light on some of these key issues in research.

the videos that are most helpful in my humble opinion are those that show a step by step process, they get viral real fast cuz of how easy to follow they are 👍

Research questions are sort of a guide to the research itself. They provide a path through the research and writing process. That's why questions must be very specific and focised. well developed research question help avoid chaos

Great ideas, sir! I would like to add that embarking on a doctoral project is a demanding journey that necessitates prerequisites and preparation before operationalizing the project. One crucial prerequisite is acquiring substantial knowledge about the specific research area. For example, attempting to investigate factors affecting the acquisition of certain linguistic elements by EFL learners requires a foundational understanding of second language acquisition. This knowledge is essential for defining the thesis statement and research objectives. Additionally, familiarity with previous research projects significantly contributes to the success of your doctoral endeavor.
I'm pleased to provide feedback on your video my dear professor Si Noureddine

You're absolutely right Sir. I have always believed in the idea that research is all about the methodology chapter first. This doesn't mean that reading isn't needed of course but the first concern should be the methodology.
