You described it well. It wasn't just her magnificent voice It was also about how she dragged you into her songs - demanding your attention. She made you feel that she sings the song especially for you. Her connection to the audience was incomparable.
If you want to react to a performance of Whitney in her later years, I highly recommend the live performance of I will always love you from the VH1 Divas live concert in 1999. It is my personal favorite live performance of the song, because it is so different from the studio recording! Would love to see what you think of it! Greetings from Germany!
Flippin chips amazing on all levels I can't even ahhhh. Prefer her lives by far more expressive. Thank you for what you do keep up the good work mate. Merry Christmas 🎅
I’ve been looking forward to this reaction for some time now, so I was really happy to see this show up in my feed! I love how she unleashes her voice on the lyric “voice as big as the sea”… indeed. Sung by other artists, this song is not one of my favorite Christmas songs. But so many times she took a song and transformed it and turned it into its own thing that resonates with people, as discussed in the One Moment in Time reaction on Patreon. Her version, especially this live performance, are absolutely a staple on my Christmas playlists. Merry Christmas Jonny!
Great performance. Will you react to O Come O Come Emmanuel from her Christmas album? Note: song was recorded acapella with all background vocals done by the Legendary Gospel group Take 6. No instruments, its amazing
@@bridgethegapreactions please react to Whitney 1994 performance of porgie and bess she sang three different genres of the hardest songs back to back for 10 mins which I don't think majority of singers can try and pull off very few can do that. I was shocked I never heard that performance till recently we're blessed cause she almost turned it down.
i try, but i just can't make it through an entire christmas song from whitney houston without thinking about the SNL sketch molly shannon convinced her to do with rosie o'donnell & penny marshall
@@NoName-pu1er 1991 was the turning point, this is what in mean. From 1992 onwards, her voice started its decline. It never sounded so fresh and crystal clear anymore.
Yall have no clue that before she died her voice was still perfectly fine her vocal cords weren't damaged at all she had heart disease which affected her breath control plus the dentures gave her a different sound she wasn't used to them and her vocal coach said she was at 95% of her original voice and could still do her lengthy high vocals but she was pushed by Clive to tour when she wasn't ready she still needed more vocal training and to stop smoking he said had she stayed focused on vocal training her voice back to normal she would've been able to sing the same as she did in the 90s. Clive bullied Whitney with telling her if she didn't tour or make new music she would be irrelevant and new artists will take her place which is terrible
You are absolutely correct. Her 1991 voice could do anything, and it was so rich and beautiful. Welcome home heroes, the national anthem, etc. Just perfect.
No vocalist today has stage presence like Whitney!
Yes I Am Still Missing My Dear Sweet Angel Whitney Houston

She’s the best!
Great analysis. The manner in which she emotes is just pure talent. On top of her vocal ability and skill. And then that voice. All around brilliance!
Another beautiful gospel song she really praised the birth of Jesus just beautiful ❤❤❤🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Amazing, just the way Whitney is... amazing!
Just Heavenly. 🙌🏾❤️❤️ #thevocal🐐

Merry Christmas to you, thank you!
Her version of Joy to the World is also amazing! I think you would enjoy it.

The tall guy on the far left is her brother
In year 1991 her voice reached its peak and it shows in every ‘91 performance of hers.
Her peak was 86-94 her best year was 1988 followed by 1986. 1991 is 3rd
