    That gigantic fireplace is crazy cool!

      It really is! It makes the best fires though in the winter because there is literally no smoke in your face.

    So the heater is only providing hot air, no fumes since it's exhausting outside from the storage case? That's slick and you don't wake up dead!

    • @hunter_pauley
      @hunter_pauley  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct and exhausting OUTSIDE the sleeping area.

    Nicely shot and edited. I know I've told you before, but man that carpet on your headliner makes that thing look soo nice inside.

    • @hunter_pauley

      Appreciate it man! And for the colder nights like this, the carpet headliner makes a huge difference!

    Fun spot! We spent a few quick trips there over the years.
    I have a tire mount to get my heater further away so i dont listen to tic all night but find i need to run 1 level higher for temps to be same as when close.

      Once this one heats up, the pump is actually quieter since it’s a higher end unit. My older unit seemed to have a louder pump.

    Hello. Love ur vids! What kinda lift and size tires u running? Thanks

    • @hunter_pauley

      Roughly 3 inch lift with 285/75/17 which is a 34in tire.

    Has your heater ever blown over? Or do you bungee/strap it to the boards/rack?

    • @hunter_pauley
      @hunter_pauley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope! It actually sits perfect in the grooves on the maxtraxs up top there.

    • @hunter_pauley
      @hunter_pauley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3M Super 90 spray. I used about 1.5 cans of it.

    I read in one of the forums that your deaver springs were squeaking. What did you do to stop the squeaking?

    • @hunter_pauley
      @hunter_pauley  ปีที่แล้ว

      It comes and goes. They haven’t squeaked for a bit but tri flow spray really helped in the bushings!

    What diesel heater case brand is that? I want that setup.

    • @hunter_pauley
      @hunter_pauley  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s home built. You can buy the kit from “Keegan builds” on TH-cam here

    Where can I get the sticker on your rear axle? :)

  • @mattjohnson7660
    @mattjohnson7660 ปีที่แล้ว

    nice! Is that the HCarlory by chance? wondering if you just used it for tent or if you think piping it into the bed with a floor panel removed might warm up the entire camper!

    • @hunter_pauley
      @hunter_pauley  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s actually built by myself! I used the kit from “Keegan builds”. Do a TH-cam search and you should find it as he sells 3D printed parts. I also posted a TH-cam short of it and it’s also on my IG.
      Currently it’s just piped into the upstairs but u might look at removing my cubby in the rear to also pipe it in downstairs

    How’s the smell of the heater? I’ve used several hoses and all of them have had a plasticky smell to them. At this point I’m wondering if it’s the heater itself lol I also use kerosene instead of diesel. I’ve seen several other people make comments about the smell but haven’t found a solution. Some said kerosene burns cleaner and doesn’t smell but I still smell the plasticky smell. Either way great video!

    • @hunter_pauley
      @hunter_pauley  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the quality of the heater being used makes a difference also. My Vevor had a stronger smell, the new lavaner one that I use now isn’t as bad. Haven’t heard about it kerosene gets rid of the smell or not.

    • @familyshreds1136
      @familyshreds1136 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hunter_pauley I read in a few forums something about it burning cleaner and some had suspicions about it so I figured I’d give it shot 😅 turns out it might just be a mental thing. If I remember correctly one of Last Line of Defense’s recent videos he mentions something about a plasticky smell in his diesel heater also. Haven’t checked if he’s updated anything on his review for his heater tho!

  • @tomlorenzen4062
    @tomlorenzen4062 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would think with proper winter camping gear,, you wouldn't need a heater. Just me. Nice video!

    • @hunter_pauley
      @hunter_pauley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Heater serves two purposes - comfort (warmth) and also helping bring moisture out of the tent. Otherwise you wake up with a sheet of ice on the roof.

    Wrap that fuel pump in insulation and it’ll deaden the sound

    • @hunter_pauley
      @hunter_pauley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good tip! Was actually going to test a new pump mount and printing it in a softer TPU material to deaden the sound some more. I have the Lavaner pro in there and it's def much quieter than the older Vevor unit I had but still hear that tick tick tick...
