Wow another very technical install ! Amazing system. Of course another professional build my head is still trying to comprehend. Great video and craftsmanship as always !
Thank you Jonathan for another great video as always. The shock oil you use does the 40 denote the weight of the oil (40 weight)? I should do my air systems 😬
Thanks Craig. the 40 is the weight of the oil. It's available in all sorts of weights. I generally keep 30-40 on hand so that's what i end up using. Not overly specific on what you need to use. Just helps condition the seals and orings.
Jonathan are you sure you are Not a Doctor? lol Think I stay with Sailplanes flying. Yes I will stay on the Porch As the Big Dogs Play. If that lady voice on the Jeti Transmitter drives you Crazy you can Change her. Jonathan you are the Man for Jet Building. May I ask a Question? Take Care and hope the Weather getting better for you Soon
@@thelightersideofrc Jonathan is it a good thing to shut down Jet Engine to land? Or do you use Crow or Flap/elevator to Slow Down? Do they make air brakes for tail Wheel Jet/turbine plane? A guy at the Fly Club has this problem. I know that Crow helps a lot on Sailplane s. GN Doc.Jonathan Jet .lol
Generally electric is preferred now by many. Air systems work well if setup properly. There are many aircraft (like these scale aircraft) that Air is your only option.
Sort of but it’s more about complexity. For example the f18 mains don’t just have an up and down cylinder, they also have a locking cylinder. So yes, possible with electric but much simpler with air.
Specific to the Skymaster F-18 but lots of info that can be used for any air system! Thanks for watching!
The air system is money!!! That takes the sweat off for landing.. brakes are a good thing on these big birds 🦅
Great install Jonathan!
Thanks Steve. Yea it’s a pretty slick setup! I’m very impressed with the v speak compressor and how it integrates!

Where did the air/water separator come from?
Hello Carlos. From Dreamworks RC.
Noob question: what's the benefit of the air system vs electric?
Generally electric is preferred now by many. Air systems work well if setup properly. There are many aircraft (like these scale aircraft) that Air is your only option.
@@thelightersideofrcAppreciate the response. Do you mean beyond a certain scale (size), electric is not feasible due to size/torque required?
Sort of but it’s more about complexity. For example the f18 mains don’t just have an up and down cylinder, they also have a locking cylinder. So yes, possible with electric but much simpler with air.
Im so OCD. I P-touched each for red/green as well as which they are controlling on the board itself. lol

I've been looking for a small bent yellow 40 year old screwdriver 🪛 for my toolbox 🧰 but I can't find one anywhere.😁❤
I got trusty about 23 years ago. STANLEY Brand
I can bend one and send it to you bro..!
