Thank you for the great explanation,
I have a question : can you please tell me, how often we should flush the membrane for optimum use?!

Ideally before and after each use. If you have the system always at the ready to make water, once for 5-10 minutes every week or so should suffice. Alternatively, you could install an automatic flush kit and never have to worry about it again.

I bought the BRS 4 stage PLUS and it has one on it but I don't understand when to turn it on and off. I also don't understand why? Do I flush out the membrane at the start or something?

Is the flush kit for just emptying the RO unit of any water to change filter or whatever else?

I installed a flush kit , but nothing was coming out of the drain tube.
I figured out the automatic shutoff valve must be opened by draining part of your holding tank, than it will flush.
Please let me know if I am correct

So the waste water fitting is just a regular quick connect fitting? Nothing special about it?

if the purpose of the flush kit is to simply bypass the restrictor, why not simply just remove the capillary restrictor ,reconnect the line and flush? it would do exactly same thing...reinsert restrictor back into line when done

Removing the flow restrictor would flush the unit! Most people won't want to do the extra steps if they don't need to though. These used to have a bypass line you could open to flush the unit.

I haven't seen any instruction on how to operate the flush kit in a drinking water system environment, and I'm confused on how to run it so that I do not end up drinking any of the water that's produced while it is flushed. What would be the steps to properly flush the membrane and not have the water go into the the storage tank? I'm thinking this is the process. Can you confirm or correct?:
    1. shut off the valve to the storage tank
    2. open the flush valve
    3. open the spigot to flow water through the system for 3 minutes
    4. close the flush valve and let water continue to run for 3 minutes
    5. turn off the spigot and open the storage tank

Then can you recommend the correct steps to take?
