You've done a nice job on the bed. I have an older 1989 Chevy Cheyenne with a rusty old heavy service box that i'm thinking about replacing with a wooden deck. These videos are really helpful. Much appreciated.
Looks great, even if you havent finished it. LOOK OUT.... AT 5:19 THE TURKEY!! HES COMMING AT YOU!! Its probably upset cause he wasnt invited for last years turkey dinner.
Love to put a wood bed on my 07 Dodge Dakota. Can is good frame is good, Truck runs well. Do not know where Dodge got there beds from anyway, They always seem to rust somewhere.
Dude you should fix the rust hole at the bottom back corner of the passenger side of the cab as well and any other rusty places and or holes my friend ❤❤❤❤
I am going to try something similar with a 1977 dodge one ton RV chassis ,all wood and stuff i have here ,but attaching to frame without welding has got me stymed! Thinking of an angle iron clamp on the ouside of each frame rail with a bolt . also thinking of using 6" x 6" treated for frame support
Great job I am planning on putting a wooden flatbed on my truck. Can you tell me when you cut out the rounded area for the tire, how much space did you have between the tire and the wood
The cross beam I attached to the frame kind of set the height. The rounded cut out is just outside of the wheel and was level with the bottom of the cross beam. Hope this helps.
I did two lag bolts for each 4x4, I think they are 5/8 x 5”. I used the holes for the original bed and drilled holes for the short 4x4 that went between the wheels. Hope that helps. Thank you for the comment!
Hello friend , love love love your modern Mr Haney style truck ( the guy from the TV show green acres from the 70's )🛻🚛🚚❤❤❤😮🫶✌️ ps- you should have turned your truck into a box truck , also did you ever check a junkyard for a truck bed or Facebook marketplace or your local Craigslist or eBay motors.????? hoping to hear back from you or someone soon thanks and God bless you always my friend , that truck would have looked way cool with a step side bed if you could have found one used and a sliding back glass window as well my friend TTFN- ( ta ta for now ) also I'm loving your beautiful and adorable black cat as well , what's it's name and what sex is it??????🐾🐾🐈⬛ Also you should have also made the bed a dump style bed too and a used lift gate style tail gate
Thank you for the great comment! I use the truck for my farm and the wood bed has been a perfect fit. I did look in all the places you mentioned to no avail. My black kitty is Lewis and loves to hang out with me when I film my videos. Thanks again for the comment!

The late 90's Fords seemed to have the same issue. Thanks for the comment!
They probably purchased the beds separate from Canada or Japan maybe even China. Save money 🤑 💰 years later you see the results.
Great job, Shawn.
very nice still debating on doing mine

@@ccodymac28 it’s weathered but holding up great
What did he use to temperately keep the lights on the bumper?
The original lights were zip tied to the bumper.
Have you had any trouble with bottoming out and rubbing on the rear tires under heavy loads or train tracks etc?
@@chrispratt7561 I’ve come pretty close but no issues so far.
@7:19 lol is that a peacock?
Narragansett turkey 🦃

So what's a round about cost? I'm thanking about doing it for my f250
The bed and the sides is roughly $600
Do you remember what size lag bolts and how many?
