I may be in the minority but, I truly miss the Compulsory Dance segment of Ice Dance competition. There was/is no better way to sort out the skill level of the teams on a true apple to apple comparison. This was very much a first rate CD. Super well done 👍👏👏👏

Almost 10 years passed, three Olympic Winter Games and many other international events to glorify Tessa and Scot as the most decorated figure skaters in history, breaking the world record for overall score, and being awarded for their artistic and athletic skills, their unique chemistry, their strong connection and affection, their passionate devotion in every performance. They just captured everyone's heart!!!
D&S had bigger patterns, more precise edging, larger glides in the CDs. They were rightfully first but had questionable FDs. I don't think VM have the best skating skills, although they were one of the best in ice dancing history.@@eqvnqb7746

I feel the same. The Argentine tango was my absolut favorit dance. My heart flyes with these dancers over the ice as I enjoy every step, the make. I don't ice dance any more, so sorry for it.
i love watching these videos listening to commentators who dont know they're talking about future olympic gold medalists! who is that tanith and belbin, they forgot an agosto there somewhere

Please tell me you redid the music for this video, because as I recalled, at World, V&M started their first step of the dance (progressive) 4 counts late, not on the exact phrasing when the melody began. Although they kept the timing throughout the entire dance, yet their restart was not on the same phrasing as shown in this video.
They are way better than the cheesy and overhyped Bourne & Kraatz. Far more talented. As a Canadian it annoys me we gave more praise to Bourne & Kraatz than this amazing team, in some ways.

They were definitely the best in compulsory dance. Their edges are the best in the world.

They are just so good in compulsory dance. It's a shame ISU canceled CD after 2010 season.

Yes, V&M are significantly better skaters than B&K. I remember being pleased that Canada finally had a team that could skate like champions.

Unfortunately for the men here the Olympic skate ended in 1968. I won gold at seven Tessa only qualified Olympic skater. No competition Madonna
