Turned out quite nice apart from the wheels. Chrome spokes are classic. These black ones look like he got them out of a skip, which being Drew he may have.

Agree - chrome wires are perfect, and correct for the car. Black is an abomination and looks dreadful. And will knock thousands off the price of the car. Look at the actual sale prices for TR4s - those with Minilites, and other non-correct wheels go for £4k less than those with chrome wires. This "Drew" character is a complete t*****. Knows nothing. And the finished car looks dreadful. Ugly.

3:23 and it's got wire wheels. Drew then hacks the TR4 like a butcher's apprentice with a hangover.

I bought my TR4 in 1978, fresh from a short race career (mostly autocross). Restored it to street condition (sort of) and drove it until a drunk in a pickup ran into the back end. He had no insurance so to make what I got from my insurer go farther, I undertook a pretty extreme, but relatively amateur restoration. Drove it another five years, then parked it planning a more thorough restoration which it's gradually undergone the last 20 years.
Still have it, but in storage since I have no garage at present. It has a rebuilt, stiffened and reinforced frame, rebuilt suspension and brakes, rebuilt overdrive gearbox (7 speed, effectively), and a lot of the mods used on the four factory rally cars that were prepped here in the US. It's fitted with an original aluminum factory hard top (some call it a Surrey, though that's incorrect). Virtually every nut and bolt underneath is new and upgraded to race quality.
I have yet to build the engine, though I have most the parts for the job set aside... Mild cam upgrade, oversize valves, new pistons AE and sleeves, pair of Weber DCOE 40, alternator conversion, lightened flywheel, electric fan, oil cooler, harmonic balancer, high performance water pump, pair of electric fuel pumps, pressure regulator and some more.
Body work will be the final project. It had it's share of dings before I got it, plus the repairs I did years ago aren't as good as I'd like. It will be getting functional fender vents... I haven't decided whether they'll be the works rally car style or the TRS LeMans style. I do like those Michelotti style too, though I'd prefer to see them match the body color.
Also not a fan of trendy black wheels on any car, let alone a TR4. The orig. steel wheels were usually painted to match the body color, with small "cake pan" chrome hub caps. Wires were available as an option, but were always painted argent silver, never chromed (ugh). The rally cars used a magnesium alloy mag wheel, the closest today are Konig Rewinds. I have similar KN mags on my car, but may switch to the Rewinds. AFAIK, there was never a factory option for a center lock wheel other than the wires. However, KN made a version of their mags with cenrerlock hubs that fit right up in place of the wires. I don't know if those are still available.
Much as I love the TR4, I also really like the TR2 and 3... I have a spare TR4 frame squirreled away to maybe someday build a TR3 Beta, basically a TR3 widened to TR4 stance, with the later model's rack & pinion steering and some other tweaks. Only a couple Betas were built as possible replacement for the TR3A, but they opted to go with the TR4 instead. Funny thing was, dealers didn't think the TR4 would sell, with those roll up windows and all. So Triumph kept building TR3B to sell alongside the TR4. Also wouldn't mind a TR6, GT6 and TR8 in my garage (when I get moved). But my favorite by far is the Italia! That was the prettiest Triymph ever made, IMO. Good luck finding one, though.

I agree with most of the comments on here, how does Drew manage to get away with his modifications that absolutely ruin these wonderful classic cars, I remember in a past episode where he completely ruined an MG TD's looks again with the wheels and paint job, also a VW Beetle that had rusty panels and wanted to keep the patina and so had a brand new wing that it needed but had it painted as if it was rusty ugh, then he seems to find enthusiasts that slap him on the back and tell him how wonderful his innovations are, surely true enthusiasts would be screaming at him for ruining these projects imho. Why doesn't he asked the members of the club for whatever model it is for their input to keep it true to the days of when it left the factory.

If the wing vents were added as part of the TR4, TR4A lineage along their product runs, then, I can see this. Otherwise, just some hacked restomod. Go ahead and put a Ford V-8 in that thing at that point. For example, the TR4A added the metal strip running along the top of the door/wing with the integrated turn signal indicator, the strip running from the front of the wing till the rear quarter panel. My dad made the same update to his TR4 cause he liked the look.
To me, that seems reasonable as it was a factory option within the TR4 lineage run of production.
