Fun fact- in I.C.U (Madison’s Lullaby), when Demi woke up in the ICU, she was completely blind and Madison (her little sister) was there and said something to Demi and Demi said ‘who is this?’
It hits even harder because she originally got clean in part to see her sister so not being able to literally see her sister was something she couldn’t help seeing the irony in. It’s touching she gave her this song.
Melon Cake is about her old team. They wanted to represent the "barbie body artist" and Demi wasn't that. So on Demi's birthdays they got her a watermelon with low fat whipped cream instead of an actual birthday cake.

To answer your questions: with The Way You Don't Look at Me, you're aware that Demi already has issues with eating disorders, so this one is about being in a relationship and feeling as though her partner doesn't appreciate her body the way they should and making her feel unwanted. The message in Easy is about leaving a relationship and trying to look like it she isn't hurt by it. She says in The Kind of Lover I Am that once she finds someone she likes that's it, she falls hard. But with other songs she shows that she also knows her worth in a relationship and will leave if it's not good for her. So basically just because she's the one to end a relationship doesn't mean it doesn't still hurt because she does love hard, but she wants to appear strong in that situation. I'd say this is in relation to the situation with her ex-fiance. 15 Minutes is also about him lol
15 minutes is about her Ex fiancé Max Ehric that was being petty after the breakup. Trying to drag both Demi and Ariana. She didn’t respond in a negative way to it, but decided to slap back with this track. The verse praying on Malibu is a reference to him calling TMZ to take a pic of him crying on a beach in Malibu. He’s a very emotionally manipulative douche.
@@melissathw Demi has such amazing deep cuts! Nightingale, For the love of a daughter, In Case, lionheart, Shouldn't Come Back, Two pieces. So many more but those are some of my faves.
Steven, did you know Demi used to be a metalhead? She was super deep into emo, The Academy Is, etc, and then eventually just went full metal and went moshing at Job For A Cowboy/Dimmu Borgir concerts at age 15. You should react to Demi Lovato's early pop-rock albums, with heavy Paramore influence -- Here We Go Again is still, to this day, her best album. Give it a full listen!
Also, ICU also makes a reference to that first time she woke up after she OD, she was blind, couldn't see a thing and her sister Madison was the one she didn't see.
I need Steven to know the reference she’s making when she singing “praying in malibu” in 15 minutes. Please search for the picture of her ex fiancé Max crying and praying on the beach in malibu after calling the paparazzi for attention 😂😂
Normally I just skip what the person reacting says about the music and just focus on the parts where they're actually listening to the music but I'm so pleasantly surprised at this guy for giving his honest and true feedback and opinions. This js how you react to an album. Just subbed 👍💯
ICU hits hard when you know the meaning, when Demi first got sober her mother told her she couldn’t see her sister Madison unless she got help, then it felt to her like a wicked joke from God when she woke up legally blind after her overdose and couldn’t see her little sister sitting at her bedside.
demi actually did not write easy, so it makes sense that it kind of conflicts the earlier themes of the album. that being said, demi has always struggled with a fear of abandonment and has been known to somewhat weaponize her sexuality to fight that fear (she talks about both of these things later in the documentary as well) - so the struggle between those themes is also very authentic to demi’s own experiences!
15 minutes is one of my favorites, it's about her ex fiancé who basically is known for trying to date celebrities because of fame, he did it with demi and tried with selena gomez that's why she says "now you’ve got your 15 minutes, pack your stuff you can COME AND GET IT" and then she laughs, HER MIND!!!!!

The Kind of Lover I Am is very confident and self-assured, and Easy is obviously such a stark contrast to that. watching this again and again cause I love demi and am obsessed with you! and yes, please be aware of your state of mind before watching her documentary cause it gets heavy and it can be triggering
I don’t know if you heard about it but Demi got engaged last year. She barely met the guy and was already quarentining with him..... They seemed to be very happy together and she was completely in love with him! But her fans always saw something that didn’t quite fit on him.... A couple of months after they got engaged they split... So, there were several screenshots around the internet of him flirting with a bunch of famous women and basically trying to make his way to fame through them! Apparently she asked him about those “rumors” and he lied straight to her face (she even came online to defend him because her fans were dragging him). So she found out the truth and dumped his ass.... And that’s where 15 Minutes came from, he was literally using her to get his 15 minutes of fame.... Also, right after they broke up he was seen making a scene to some paparazzi, crying and looking devastated at a beach... I love Demi for putting those lyrics in the song!
steven, i'm so glad you took time to listen to DWTDTAOSO. i've been watching you for quite some time (i was first introduced to you in a RBD reaction, i just loved it and kept watching your others reactions and stuff), and i was always hoping that you would make a video reacting to Demi. Thank you for the video, and thank you for being such an open and positive person. lots of love from Venezuela xx.
I think this is a really good album to have be your first Demi album to listen to. It has a bit of everything that has lead her artist so many people love so much - the alt rock influences, the emo vibes, and the belting.
This album is one of her best, honestly. Melon Cake is my favourite and that little break at the end of Good Place gets me fr emotional lol. I cant wait to see you react to more Demi! ❤
Her documentation of her life is all very interesting and very informative and very insightful to the world of addiction and everything that she has dealt with. She's a iconic artist. She is amazing in terms of pop stars!!! Love Demi!
I’m so glad you checked out a demi project! This one is so emotional and raw and amazing. I’m so glad you loved it! You should definitely check out her video for Dancing With the Devil too. So emotional.
icu (i see you) it's cause when she wake up at the icu her sister was there and she said "i love you demi, i am here" but demi was literally blind and she asked "who is that"
Love your reactions. As a person who has been through addiction and come out the other side there is no one way fits all approach every one is different. For me it was literally cold turkey but people I know went a very different way and thankfully we all came through ok.
I've watched your reactions for a while now (they have been a ray of light in the horrible year that was 2020), but this is my first time commenting. I love hearing your insightful commentary on this album, especially when you are not that familiar with her music. I think you would like her other albums as well, they are all really different from each other and one way or another reflect her journey. But I really think that by this album she is finally able to be fully herself without her previous, somewhat harmfully controlling team. That's what I think "Melon Cake" is actually also about: her previous team was restricting her eating and wouldn't even give her permission to eat a proper birthday cake and gave her melon cake instead, because they were so focused on promoting her being well and her music instead of actually supporting her to get proper help. They were also kind of blackmailing her in a "if you relapse, we are leaving"-style. Madison is indeed her little sister. Demi said that while she was in rehab years ago, her sister and looking at her photo were her main motivators to keep going on her path to recovery. I may be wrong, but I think "15 minutes" is about her relationship with Max Ehrich. They were dating for a while and she invited him to live with her family during quarantine-times. They even got engaged before it became apparent that he was only interested in her because of her fame. So I think you were right.
I think we’ve got ourselves a brand new lovatic here
Yasss
Haha. I guess we're succeeding in our mission then.

You should react to Fall in Line by Xtina and Demi. Demi slayed that song with her idol.
15 minutes is about her ex-fiancé, he was just a clout chaser! And after their break up he called the paps on himself (he isnt famous enough to have paps following him lol) to photograph him crying in the beach in Malibu (which she mentions in the bridge of the song).
28:54 -Met Him Last Night ft Ariana Grande REACTION
watching this again and again cause I love demi and am obsessed with you! and yes, please be aware of your state of mind before watching her documentary cause it gets heavy and it can be triggering
The way this album tells Demi’s story in such a fierce way is amazing
STEVEN I LOVE YOU FOR THIS
steven, i'm so glad you took time to listen to DWTDTAOSO. i've been watching you for quite some time (i was first introduced to you in a RBD reaction, i just loved it and kept watching your others reactions and stuff), and i was always hoping that you would make a video reacting to Demi. Now that I got it, I absolutely loved it, and I'm glad people are actually giving her the credit that she deserves.
Good album. Her best yet in my opinion.
It was the “ME TOOO” for me ☺️💕
I had been dealing with depression for a long time.
Lately I’ve been feeling really good and this album corroborated that I am in a good place now 😌
This album is one of her best, honestly. Melon Cake is my favourite and that little break at the end of Good Place gets me fr emotional lol. I cant wait to see you react to more Demi! ❤
This was such a good reaction!! 💖 Demi’s a queen this album it’s so amazing omg
Her documentation of her life is all very interesting and very informative and very insightful to the world of addiction and everything that she has dealt with. She's a iconic artist. She is amazing in terms of pop stars!!! Love Demi!
Well said!
Haha glad you liked Melon Cake too! It’s one of my favorites in her album. I like the way you dont look at me too though
no matter how many times I hear this masterpiece, every time hits harder

“I’m living the life I said I wouldn’t & want to go back” DAMNNNNN DEMI🥺🥺
Steven! I remember you from when we use to work at WFM. Just came across this and glad you got this going on ☺️ Take care!
These days it’s so hard to find someone that really feels the music by it’s lyrics, instrumentals and melody... I truely love this!
Thank you Steven 🥺🥺❤️ congrats on 250k!!
You need to watch the video for "Dancing with the Devil" it is hard to watch but honest and amazing!
Demi delivered a piece of art, she did an emotional rollercoaster with grace 💙
icu (i see you) it's cause when she wake up at the icu her sister was there and she said "i love you demi, i am here" but demi was literally blind and she asked "who is that"
Love your reactions. As a person who has been through addiction and come out the other side there is no one way fits all approach every one is different. For me it was literally cold turkey but people I know went a very different way and thankfully we all came through ok.
this entire reaction made me SO happy, you're so cute. i feel you feeling the album... damn!!!! IT'S CUTE ❤️
Thanks for reacting to this album💗it means so much to me🤗
you mentioned Alanis, you should def check Demi singing with her "you oughta know" ♥
California Sober... I’ve been clean for 8 YRS. I’ve had many different pathways of recovery & that 8 YRS WHILE LIVING MY BEST LIFE!!👏👏
Congratulations!
I loved your reaction to all the songs and how u analyzed them 💜
I've watched your reactions for a while now (they have been a ray of light in the horrible year that was 2020), but this is my first time commenting.
So proud of you Steven
