I have a scalp issue and I love cowashes. The oyin is my favorite and it doesn't make my condition any worse. Infact, when I was using shampoos, they were drying out my hair and scalp and making the condition worse. When I started using cowashes, it cleaned but didn't leave my hair completely dry so it itched less. I do still make sure to clarify once a month

Yea I have seborrheic dermatitis and my skin would be horrible with most shampoos and conditioners. I use Nizoral once a week and cowash in between and my skin can handle it.

The Camille Rose Neroli Blossom Cleansing Milk is another good one. It has C14-16 Alpha Olefin Sulfonate as a surfactant. Sadly the other two co-washes in that line, the Rose and Orchid Cleansing Milks, are just regular conditioners labeled as co-washes.

Finally! Someone who gets it that a cowash needs a cleansing agent to clean hair. I agree with all your suggestions. To add try the Ouidad Curl Immersion Coconut Cleansing Cream Conditioner-No Lather and Curlsmith Curl Quenching Conditioning Wash

Aveda Be Curly cowash has cleansing ingredients. You are right though actual cleansing conditioners are hard to find. This is one category where you gotta double check the ingredients list before buying.

I don't understand why cleansers have silicone? Aren't cleansers supposed to get rid of silicone? Help it make sense.

One of the things that I love about your channel is that you know the ingredients in different products and I would love for you to continue do that in your videos with some of the affordable hair care products and to explain the different oils that are great for growth, moisture, and shine because I have been Natural for 6 years and I have 2 texture types I am 3c on the top and 4a or b in the back and I have high porosity hair and I have a hard time retaining moisture. I look forward to your next video😁❤✌

    The daily fix is bomb!
The Soultanicals rice butta shampoo is a decent one as well. It’s more cleansing than daily fix but not as harsh as ginger mint.
Eden coconut cowash is nice, but it doesn’t have detergents in it.

My scalp love Oyin's cleansing co-wash much more than majority of the shampoo's I've tried. It has helped my dandruff issues so I can make it 7-10 days before I have to wash my hair again. That stuff is amazing!!!!

If you live in the DMV, Oyin Handmade is sold at participating Whole Foods as well as their flagship location in Baltimore. Their website store locator also shows they are sold at Rite Aid, CVS and/or other places in many different states.

I'm a fan of the Doux cowash. That stuff smells so good, is VERY conditioning and my scalp does feel clean after. I'd love to try Oyin - they make amazing products. Thank you for noting that not all cowashes contain actual cleaning agents. Marketing departments have sold the natural hair community some invalid truths about their products to better assist in separating us from our dollars. Great video!

I also like CRN Creme Restore co-wash. I have tried both Oyin and Curl Junkie co-washed and like them both. I am not a big co-wash person and only use them if I need to wash before my regular wash day. I believe in a good shampooing for cleaning scalp and hair.

I tried your recommendation (Oyin Ginger Mint Co-Wash) and yeeessss, I fell in love with it and the tingling on the scalp is everything! Sometimes I sneak in another wash prior to my weekly wash day just so I can use it!

I enjoy both the Oyin and The Doux Co-washes. The Doux really caught me by surprise! It gave me a luscious lather and felt like I had shampooed and deep conditioned my hair upon rinsing it. It really is "Wash-Day In a Jar!". Talk about bang for your buck. I've also enjoyed Uncle Funky's Daughter Bye Bye Build-Up (Cleansing Ingredient: Rhassoul Clay)! It left my hair very clean and very hydrated. 💜

I co-wash my two-foot beard with Eden Bodyworks' Cleansing Co-wash coconut shea because lauric acid kills germs while reducing hygral fatigue. It's the best feeling in the beard and afterward. However, does it have any surfactant ingredients? I love that you stress the need to use ingredients to clean our hair with. What are your thoughts?

Her Rhassoul -Dote is a cleansing conditioner. It’s amazing!! She only has her online store open on the weekends if you check her out.

what do you do to the hair after you cowash? do you follow up with a deep condition/condition, or do you just rinse it out and style as usual? I ask this because I know that shampoo raises the cuticle and a conditioner conditions the hair and seals the cuticles, and that a deep conditioner penetrates and seals the cuticle, but not really sure how that whole process works when you use a cowash.

I'm currently using the Camille Rose Neroli cleansing milk because that was the only natural cowash I could find on the ground that actually had any cleansing agents in it. If the Oyin is better maybe I should try that one. I just didn't want to but one product online from a brand when I already have a brand I purchase most of my staples from.

@@jjayjae_ That was the one I was using and when I bought it, it was running, but looking at a few video reviews of it, it seemed thicker. I purchased it from Target and it was very runny and not thick at all was yours??. In any case, I did not see any real elongation.

The As I Am coconut cowash does not have any cleansing agents. It's very popular because it smells great and detangles well, but it doesn't do squat to cleanse hair. Look for ingredients like olefin sulfonate and cocamidopropyl betaine. Those are surfactants.
